<> <> <> <> * Rochelle doesn't say anything for a while after Anders leaves. Then: "That was fun." * Vera tips her hat so it covers her eyes. * Ian sighs. "So. We're apparently stuck with this?" Apparently. * Katherine has already moved over to her TV/Computer and slotted the chip, eyeing the contact info. * Fitzroy stands up and stretches. "According to him, we are." * Leopoldo shifts his position, his tail moving slightly. "It would seem, according to him, we are." * Demetreia sits quietly, her expression unreadable. * Rochelle looks over at Kat. "What's it say?" I don't think I'd mind helping him out too much. I'm all for the new and different. Don't know about you guys though. I say it's up to you.. Right now though, there's a party goin' on. * Ian sits back, and shrugs. "Well...if we have to do it, we might as well enjoy it." * Leopoldo shrugs. "I honestly have no problem with helping him as long as it doesn't derail my life." * Ian nods. * Katherine hrms, and looks back at Roch. "It's an address at the Red Hilton." She starts grabbing chips and copying the contact data. In very short time, she has 6 extra chips, which she proceeds to hand out to anyone who's willing. "Take one if you want one." * Ian snags one. "Thanks." * Rochelle takes one and puts it in her purse. * Vera takes one. Why not? * Demetreia looks a little nervous. "I suppose...it would not be outside mission parameters..." * Demetreia hesitantly takes one. * Leopoldo takes one. "Thank you. This is definitely going to be an interesting venture." Mission parameters? Wha? * Katherine looks sour. "Yeah. Interesting." * Fitzroy takes. * Leopoldo takes the tin foil off his head as well. "Still sounds like there's a party going down." * Ian looks outside. "That it does..." It'll probably go on all night. * Katherine pulls a cord from next to her TV, and runs it up to her right temple. "Probably. And in about two minutes, I'm kicking you all out and going to a club to finish the 'I just saw a fucking extradimensional being and am getting blasted' plan. Feel free to join me or not." * Rochelle gets to her feet. "Yeah, well. Got these clothes and nothin' else to do. Parties aren't gonna stop just 'cause someone predicted the end of the world or somethin' on us." * Ian nods. * Fitzroy looks around him to make sure he has all his stuff "I'm all for going with." He puts his mask back on. I guess. Er, all right... * Leopoldo smirks. "Very true, very true." He sighs. "I don't have anything to lose besides a good night's rest. Count me in." * Rochelle looks at Leo curiously. "So..." Did it stop mamboing? * Leopoldo nods. "Yeah, finally. I couldn't get a single thought straight with it running my head." * Katherine 's eyes roll back in her head for a split second, and then she detaches from the TV. "Well, don't feel forced or anything." * Rochelle shrugs. "Sure. See ya outside, Kat." * Rochelle heads out! But not quite zooming. * Fitzroy nods "I'll be outside too." he goes. * Ian nods. "See ya there." And heads outside. * Vera folds her arms. "Hmm... I have to wonder if it wouldn't be worth getting a head start." * Leopoldo gets up. "Don't mind me. I'll be outside waiting as well." He walks out the door. * Katherine nods at the retreating forms, then walks back to where she left her purse, picking up glasses as she goes. "Hey, it's your call, babe. That's why I gave you all a chip." <> <> (You can taste it in the air!) * Rochelle puts her mask back on and stretches. * Ian transforms back into Tuxedo Penguin, defender of all that is just and antarctic. (The gods kill Ian.) (^_^) * Leopoldo stays a giant human-type lizard. Wow, big change. (Kat drops a flower pot out the 50th story window, and it craters on Ian. There.) (Ow!) * Demetreia picks up the mask she left outside, and stuffs it in the ratty satchel she wears over one shoulder. Hmm... I'll think about it. * Vera heads outside to where the others are. * Katherine says, "Yeah, well. Think about it..." she watches Vera leave, and shakes her head. "Right. Windows blocked. Lights off." She walks to and through the door. And then downstairs! * Rochelle watches people filter out of the apartment building. <> * Katherine gets downstairs, and starts walking south on Clinton. <> * Rochelle walks along, looking around. * Vera looks the club up and down, and sighs heavily. * Katherine looks back to see if anyone is following, and says to the followers. "Ignore the line." You're the ticket in? * Ian raises an eyebrow. <> * Katherine shrugs, and turns back to walking. "More or less. I was trying not to fall back on my favorite place, but today's been bad enough that I'll break that resolution." << The exterior of Laser-Momo is done in sheets of burnished steel, bolted to the framework behind it with rivets the size of a man's fist. The facing of the place is nearly half a block, and windowless, but rimmed with blue holo-neon. Above the facing the building becomes a DunnoBrick fronting, but definitely one of the better kinds. >> << The general architectural theme on this building is quite clearly art deco/gothic, which balances well with the art-deco feel of Laser-Momo's. The name of the place is traced out in real neon behind a DunnoGlass plate, a testament to the upscale nature of the club. The front door is set in from the fronting a pace, and it is guarded by two Twenty-Fours who look like their power might be to exude steroids naturally. >> * Demetreia literally ignores the line, causing a few people in the queue to suffer crushed feet. At least you're not with the usual crowd. Not a bad place... * Katherine grins, and her ears twitch. "It only gets better. Well, if you're into this sorta thing." * Rochelle tries to see around the big scary bouncers. Or maybe they're going in. Hard to say. <> "Well, well, well. Look who's here after all, Harty." <> I'm up for just about anything at this point. * Leopoldo shrugs. "Been a while for me." * Katherine looks at Val angrily. "Yeah, well. I'll buy you the drink when you're off, Val." She thumbs towards the group. "They're with me, and tonight's only slightly better than three weeks ago, so don't push it." * Ian waves a flipper cheerfully. "Wak." <> "Right, right. Sheesh. Why you always gotta come here when yer all testy?" <> Gwah! * Demetreia somewhat tentatively shuffles in. * Leopoldo walks in. << Directly inside the door is a smallish anteroom, with a section of the wall to your immediate left being taken up by an automated coat storage system, and the rest of the left being taken up by a wide wrought-iron spiral staircase, with the steps carpeted in a deep maroon to match the anteroom. To your right is a short tunnel, lined with the blue holo-neon, pulsing to the bass beat you can feel even from here. >> * Ian waddles in, a bit surprised. * Vera heads on in, almost immediately lighting up a cigarette. * Katherine grins. "So, Ian got it from her? Never knew penguins were her thing." She seems much more relaxed than she was a few minutes ago. Oh, my. * Katherine shrugs, and walks into the tunnel. "Catch y'all at the bar on the first floor. Ya really can't miss it." She grins and walks into the tunnel. (Wow, when you forget what you're typing, you say funny things.) * Vera says, "That's good enough for me," and heads for the bar. "Wonder if there's a pool table here." (Okay. Hold up while I unleash a hell of description.) * Ian follows. "If so, mind if I play too?" (I'll go slowly.) << Past the tunnel is the main area of the club - a four story tall open area. The upper three floors are ringed on two sides by seating (the north and west), lit mostly by mood lighting and holo-neon, and getting darker as they get higher. Most of the open plaza is taken up by a large dance floor, DunnoGlass over a vidscreen playing psychedelic images synched to the music. >> * Leopoldo snerks. "Hey, if you're shooting a round, I wanna play too." He walks in. By all means, please do. << The one bare corner of the building (the southeast corner), at the corner of the dance floor, is the DJ's station, covered by a whirling cyclone of holograms that run from floor to ceiling. The wall to your right (east) is covered by a low-light form of high-oxygen ivy, and the wall behind you (south) sports vertical lines of bright blue holo-neon running half the height of the wall. >> * Rochelle looks around. She hasn't said a word since walking in. << In the southwest corner sits the bar - and what a magnificent bar it is. It extends upward to all four floors, with a separate bar on each floor, but a hoverlift system connecting all of them so people and alcohol can go up or down as necessary. The first story of the bar extends out, about two-thirds the length of the wall behind you.>> << The bar along the wall is a much more impressive deal - it is a maximum of two stories tall by itself, and it appears to be made of real cherry wood. A magnificent structure, the bar appears to randomly change height at various points along the wall, with the points elevated above the floor having TVNet screens below them, and hoverlift chairs to elevate the people sitting there to the correct height. >> << The whole thing is liberally coated in animated holograms, some for alcoholic beverages, some for other random products, some merely there to confuse and annoy - one seems to be the animated sleythin off your menus from earlier this evening. >> * Fitzroy is quiet too. He's just taking in the scenery. ([SCENERY]) ( Words @_@ ) (What Scenery?) << Behind the bar sits an impressive array of bottles, offering everything from Venusian ale to some of the more toxic Sleythin liquors. Ordering menus float over the bar itself, and quite literally a dozen barkeeps are working to fill drink orders. A fleet of small robots takes orders from the dance floor to the bar.>> (I'm completely lost in all of this. What's the summary?) * Ian looks around, impressed. (It's a very impressive club.) (The drinks are at the bar.) (There's your summary.) ( "It's gettin' serious! Now someone's stolen the scenery!" /6 pts ) << The longest ground-level area of the bar is the most crowded, as it is staffed by a tall woman with shockingly silver skin, awful pink hair, and a pair of mechanical extra arms. She's tossing bottles around and hotdogging in the Pink Russian school style. >> << The general decor of the rest of the place is hard to define - most of it is liberally covered with holo-neon, and the parts that are not, such as the upper floors, have an interesting mix of New Orleans character and theme bar flair. >> << The people there are young, dressed in wild colors but fashionable styles, and they all look like they're having a fabulous time. More than a couple of them look distinctly stoned, and a light smoky miasma appears to be curling out of the topmost seating area. The music playing is hard, driving techno-rave, and the DJ's cyclone periodically announces it as "Hard Edge Night - If You Can Still Think It's Not Loud Enough." >> (Cham likes his settings.) << All in all, it's a happening place - it appears to be packed to the brim with people, which is expected, this being Sangria-Beltane and all. Enjoy yourselves, find a table, have fun! >> <> (Thank you!) * Fitzroy admires the holo cyclone thingy "Nice.." * Katherine is over by the first floor bar, swaying a bit to the rhythm of Hard Edge Night as she tries to edge her way through the crowd watching the Pink Haired One. She nods to a few people seemingly in recognition as she does so. * Leopoldo takes it all in. "Very impressive setup." * Vera doesn't. She prefers to head for the bar, preferably in the area furthest away from the loud music. * Demetreia stares at the holothing for a few moments, eyes darting back and forth, then shakes it off and looks for a place to sit. * Rochelle stares blankly for a moment, then visibly snaps out of it. "Yeah, I guess so." She heads to the bar as well. * Ian lightly claps his flippers in amusement. * Leopoldo walks to the bar like a lemming, stepping to a beat that's completly off from the music that's playing. <> * Ian makes his way over to the bar, waddling to the rhythm. * Vera heads to another level then, since they all have at least one bar on them anyhow. * Fitzroy considers staring at the cyclone s'more, but heads over to the bar once he notices others moving. * Katherine finally edges her way to the bar, and waits for a lull in Momo's performance, before yelling out, "Let's see a Triple Homicide!" <> "Remember, you asked for it." * Katherine says loudly, "Cheaper than buying 4 drinks. Faster, too." * Rochelle watches. This'll be good. * Ian watches, as well. * Demetreia tilts her head to the side a bit and watches curiously. * Vera isn't there, so she doesn't. * Leopoldo chuckles. <> * Katherine winces as she eyes it. "Definitely won't need another." * Ian looks on, trying to follow the motions with his flippers. * Fitzroy asks one of the waiter-bots for somethin'.. It's hard to hear what it was over the noise. <> * Rochelle blinks a few times. <> "Done and done." * Rochelle looks to Kat. "Don't tell me you order that all the time." (whew. *kicks mecha for making him think that up*) (Haha!) * Ian applauds! * Leopoldo smiles. "Nice show." * Katherine shakes her head. "Hell no. It's Sangria-Beltane." She thumbs towards the penguin. "Someone has to help entertain the crowd." Yeah, good point. * Ian grins. * Rochelle looks to Ian. "You, go entertain the crowd." * Katherine laughs. * Ian looks around. "...wak?" <> "So what brings you here tonight, Kat?" <> "And with such company?" * Leopoldo smirks. * Katherine says, "Two bullets in a man's knee and one hell of a story." She takes a small sip. "One I'm trying to forget." * Rochelle thwaps the penguin. "Be more convincing. Yeesh. Ya come in with that crazy costume and you don't want attention?" * Fitzroy mutters to himself "I suppose you could say it was Fate." and looks away from the group with a smirk on his face. 2d6-2 * Atom rolls for Vera (2d6-2) and gets 7. * Leopoldo shrugs. "I'll be honest when I say I don't believe in fate." "You got the right drink for it. Sad to say the bar's full tonight, though. Think there are some tables on the second level." <> "Anything for the rest of you?" Hmm...a Harlem Stinger, please? * Katherine nods. "S'Ok. I won't be much for conversing or running up the tab with this." She hits the mug once on the bar for emphasis. (If this weren't one of the most expensive drinks in the world, I'd brain you with the mug. c.c;) (Hey, Rochelle wanted entertainment. Watching a penguin trying to drink that should be plenty entertaining.) (Yay!) (... Fair enough.) * Fitzroy drinks a bit and goes back to staring at the cyclone. <> * Katherine waits until she's done mixing Ian's drink. "And if Val comes around looking for her drink, tell her I'm up there. Or just make it for her." * Leopoldo shakes his head. "Not tonight. Someone's gotta be sober." * Ian takes his drink. "Thanks!" * Ian sips, and then tilts slightly sideways. "...kweh." * Rochelle looks through her purse, then up at Momo. "Scotch and water, more water." And then she gets distracted by Ian. * Leopoldo sighs and shakes his head. He's got a smile on his face, though. <> * Katherine takes another brain-destroying drink of her mug, and eyes Roch. "Okay, I'll be upstairses." She starts swaying back through the crowd. Maybe it's dancing, or maybe that drink really is as bad as it looks. * Rochelle takes it distractedly and has a sip. "Yeah. Drunk penguin." * Ian sips, and tilts back the other way. "Wark?" * Demetreia giggles a little at Ian. She looks like she's having fun, but her laugh sounds a little false anyway. * Katherine arrives upstairs and sits down at a table, and proceeds to sit there and drink very very slowly. * Rochelle grins and has another drink. She heads upstairs, too. Too crowded down here... not that it'll change. <> ( And winning. I rawk ) (You can beat yourself!) (Go Vera Go!) * Ian follows the group upstairs. "Ooh, billiards." * Leopoldo looks around. "Don't get too drunk. Although I bet it's too late for that." He heads up stairs. * Fitzroy takes his drink and wanders out into the crowd. * Rochelle looks around, notices Vera, and has a seat. Watching her! Possibly next to Kat, who's likely getting drunk. * Demetreia wanders around aimlessly, peering intently at people now and then. ( You guys can see through floors @_@ ) <> (I can't! I can't see anything. Nope.) (Kat said she'd be upstairs, Vera went upstairs, I went upstairs, where am I seeing through floors?) * Katherine is indeed getting drunk. She eyes Roch. "Scotch n'waters? That's pretty weak. Ya wants I should get you a real drink?" * Rochelle grins at Kat. "Mebbe later. I don't wanna get drunk too fast." * Katherine takes another drink from her skull-shaped mug. "Okays." She hrms. "So, howd's ya end up here? In New York, I mean." * Ian waddles up to the billiards table. "Mind if I join in?" * Rochelle blinks at the question, then has a healthy gulp. (That's a girl!) * Vera shrugs. "Go right ahead." I got out. Y'know I always wanted to leave. * Leopoldo walks over to the table Vera's playing at. "I'd join in to, but I'll just watch for now." Yeah. Just wonderin' how ya made the jump. Glad ya made it out though. Not your kinda place. * Katherine takes another drink. * Rochelle shrugs. "'s better here. I mean, anything is. But..." She laughs. "Box." * Ian picks up a cue, testing it with his flippers, and begins playing. * Vera takes a sip of her drink. <> * Rochelle has another drink. "Zak's back at home. 's his kinda place." * Katherine chuckles. "Yeah, I never figured him for leavin'. Amazed he's still alive, though." She looks down. "And Box City's not a bad place. Not great, but not bad." Yeah. <> * Katherine eyes Ian and Vera, and yells, "Make it interesting! Drink for sunk balls! We want a drunk penguin!" * Rochelle laughs. * Ian gives Katherine a...flippers-up? And complies. ^_^ 2d6-2 * Atom rolls for Ian (2d6-2) and gets 6. 2d6 * Atom rolls for Leopoldo (2d6) and gets 8. (Noopers.) (Yup.) * Katherine grins, "Hey, might as well abuse it before midnight. Then we'll have to look at his face." She takes another drink. * Ian looks up at something for a moment, shrugs, and goes back to playing/drinking. He's pretty decent at it, too. * Vera is pretty decent at playing/drinking, too, plus she smokes, so she's one up on Ian. (She's got you there.) (Wak. ;_;) * Leopoldo isn't playing, isn't drinking, and isn't smoking. To boot he's not exactly pretty either. Man, he's got a lot to catch up on. * Rochelle giggles and finishes off her drink. ( Ha! I'm not even *there!* I win! ) ( Er, I mean, lose. ^^ ) (Your moves are lame!) * Katherine makes a hmming noise, and starts tapping one of her claws on the table. "So, what you think of all this crap?" What, the fate stuff? * Vera shrugs. "I've got free time for a while. May as well see what's up." She shoots! Well, yeah, but screw the creepy fate stuff. Just all the other junk. * Ian nods. "If it happens, hey. If not, just more Sangria-Beltane madness." (I wasn't broadcasting, but hey, join in! ^_^;) (Ah. ^_^;) * Leopoldo shrugs. "Already said I don't believe in fate. But if his gifts are as powerful as they seem, there can be a very long line of coincidences." * Rochelle scratches at the back of her head. "I dunno. Somethin's up with that... disk thing. If there's aliens, really, big deal. 's not like we haven't run into aliens before." 2d6 * Atom rolls for Rochelle (2d6) and gets 7. (DR1) 2d6 * Atom rolls for Rochelle (2d6) and gets 6. (... DR2!) 2d6 * Atom rolls for Rochelle (2d6) and gets 6. * Katherine suddenly gets a frown on her face, and erases it with a drink. "Yeah, thas true." (Aww, I guess I'll take a fail. ^_^) (Wah wah waaaaaah~) * Rochelle looks at Kat for a moment, then down at her own empty glass. * Fitzroy finds his way back to the group. "Man, it's _solid_ people down there." * Rochelle waves at Fitz. "Bring me anything?" * Leopoldo chuckles. * Fitzroy sets an empty glass on a nearby table "Nothin' but an empty glass" * Rochelle eyes that. * Ian sinks a shot, drinks, and wobbles a bit. Damnit, I already got one of those. Go for threes. <> Ya want somethin though? * Rochelle perks. "You buyin'?" * Vera finishes her scotch and her cigarette, and doesn't bother getting a refill on either. * Fitzroy tries to get the attention of an order-bot, "Sure." * Katherine takes another sip. Now she's looking almost morose. Good thing it's a big mug. <> * Rochelle cheers considerably and looks through the holomenu, then points out a drink she hasn't seen before. "That one good? Hey, Kat! How strong's this?" * Demetreia peeks her head in as she goes upstairs. "Ah, this is where everyone is." * Ian waves to Demetreia. "Wak." <> * Leopoldo laughs. "Everyone that's not a sardine, anyways." * Fitzroy pokes at Long Island Iced Tea.. "This one seems apropriate, somehow." * Katherine eyes the drink. "No, not that one, Roch. And probably not that one either, unless you were looking for strong." 2d6-4 * Atom rolls for Demetreia (2d6-4) and gets 2. Naw. Don't wanna get drunk yet. * Rochelle pauses. "Or smashed. Whatever. I'll take this'un." * Demetreia eyes the statuette near the pool table. "What's that?" * Ian looks over at it. "It looks familiar, but..." * Demetreia edges over to it to get a closer look. * Ian finishes his drink. * Leopoldo glances over. "Looks like a statue, if you ask me." <> * Katherine isn't eeeeven paying attention to the statue. * Rochelle orders the Hopping Hexer, like she said she would; Roy's paying, after all. Go alliteration. <> * Vera eyes the thing while drinking. She shrugs. "Who knows? Maybe we saw it at the auction or something." * Rochelle takes it and has a drink, then looks over at the others. "Whazzat?" * Fitzroy takes a closer look at the thing when he has his drink. * Leopoldo looks over. "Well, it might have some similarity..." * Vera shrugs and goes back to playing. "Nothing important." Aww, c'mon. I wanna see. * Ian keeps on playing, too. <> * Katherine sure is distracted. She eyes where Roch is lookin', though. "What'cha lookin' at, Roch?" * Rochelle gets up and walks over to look. She blinks. "'s the statue thingie." Oh. You know, the one that shoulda been plastic and glow in the dark. (Where is it? On the floor, on another table, what?) Huh. Well, Momo's got weird taste. I don't remember no statues around here, though. Must be new. <> * Vera stops playing and walks over to the statue. "Huh. Really?" She takes a close look, "Seems like any other piece of junk to me," and goes back to the game. (Uh, yeah. You got me really confused, Cham.) (We're drunk! ^_^) (LOOKS LIKE ARTIFACT. STEAL IT AND RUN.) (I guess it's the fact that Deme referred to it as a statuette?) * Leopoldo laughs. "Well, I think we have found one of those artifacts underneath our noses." ( Roch: Blame Cham, 's what he told me it was. :P ) (*blames Cham*) * Demetreia peerpeers at it, and then pokes it tentatively. That was fast. <> Oh, whaddaya know. Maybe every time we get drunk, we'll find one? * Ian steps over to it. "Huh." * Rochelle drinks. "Best way to save the world ever." * Katherine drinks too. "Now that's a fate I can get into." Yeah, tell me about it. Next time, though, one of you get to stay sober. Heeey, Leo. I'm not completely drunk. You can get half drunk! Yeah, me neither. I have not imbibed. I just can't remember what we're talking about. * Leopoldo chuckles. "Well, in that case..." Yeah, and she hasn't touched the stuff. * Rochelle points at Deme. * Katherine grins, and drinks _again_. * Vera shrugs. "I'm still sober, I think. * Ian wobbles amusingly. "I'm less drunk than I look, it's just that my attention span gets all weird." * Vera waves a hand in front of her face. "Yep. Still am." (Hm. I think I've figured it out. I suck so much as a GM, every last one of the characters in my games gets plastered at every opportunity.) (Cheers!) (Not all of them.) * Leopoldo waves one of the bots down, ordering a Bloody Mary. When in doubt, go with the classics. ( So what happens to the ones that don't? ) So. What do we do with this thing? (You obviously are crazy.) ( Oh. Hurrah! ) * Rochelle sips and peers at the "artifact". "So... we ask if we can keep it?" * Rochelle looks around. (*goes to add "The Drunkenest Game Series Ever!" to the tagline for ATC2.) Um... I suppsoes we can trys... You try! * Katherine blinks her eyes once. "It's probably safe here anyways. Haaaarty'd kick that big guy's teeth in." She laughs a little. "Or maybe I just don't wanna have a bunch of junk in my apartment." * Rochelle grins. "We can keep it at my place." <> * Leopoldo chuckles. "I could always keep it aboard my ship." * Vera wins, 'cause she's got a hat. * Ian bows. "Good game!" Yeah, same to you. I can send a note to Anders if ya want. See what he says about it? Leaving it here is probably a bad idea. That might be best. I don't know exactly if the other party would find a way to intercept the message, though. * Rochelle nods at Fitzroy. "With a picture?" Or you could just ask him to look at it... I dunno. Nah. I'm more cautious than that, Leo. * Fitzroy pulls out his comp and camera. ( With a sketch! :P ) That's good. * Fitzroy snaps and sends! * Katherine shrugs, and makes another dent in her drink. "Wells... I dun if she'll let it go, but if I bounces for her for the rest of my life, maybe shells let us have it." * Ian shrugs. "We can all pitch in and work ten years each?" * Rochelle laughs. "Yay, I have a job!" <> Or we wait until the club gets attacked and rescue it from the thieves. .. That was quick. * Fitzroy checks it. ( It's spam! ) He probably isn't out havin' fun. Poor guy. Well, he says snag it. * Rochelle has another drink and flops onto a chair. She looks at the artifact again. "Yeah, okay." .. Maybe the owners don't know it's worth. * Ian shrugs. "So we go ask?" * Leopoldo nods. "Sure." ... So we're a crime syndicate now. Great. I'll stay and make sure nobody takes it, or something. I suppose I shall stay as well. * Katherine starts to stand up, and stops halfway up, sitting back down. "I think I'lls just stay heres, or sumthin' too. Make sure nobody takes Roch." She grins. * Rochelle doesn't seem to really want to get up. "Huh? Nah, if we were a crime syndicate, we would've taken it and ran already." Yeah. tsh, just pretend with think it's a cool trinket and want to buy it or somethin'. * Vera resets the pool table. "I'm staying here. I don't know the owner, so there's no point in going." <> To be honest, I don't know who to ask. And how much would we pay for it in the first place?0 * Ian shrugs. "I'll go. Need someone to back me up, though." * Ian looks over at Katherine. "You know the owner, right?" * Katherine rubs her temples. "I can't backs you up for a lotsa time. If I knew I was gonna be barganin I'd have gots less drunk." I'll go with. * Katherine waves her mug at Ian. "Drunk. Druuuunk." * Ian waddles cheerfully down the stairs. "Here goes nothing!" * Leopoldo sighs and walks down after the penguin. * Rochelle giggles. "Shoulda gotten less drunk." * Fitzroy goes downstairs with the penguin. (o/~ I am the penguin / I can go anywhere o/~) <> ( FWAR HAR HAR ) If I'd known I had to do more stuff today, I woulda! It's Masq, for cryin' out loud. Who works during Masq? * Katherine pauses. "Besides Momo, because it makes her a million creds or such." You'd be surprised. * Katherine leans on the table. "I guessh so." <> * Rochelle watches Kat for a while, then turns her attention to Deme. "Hey, got a question." * Demetreia looks up. "Yes?" * Katherine eyes her mug. "I like this drink, but it's not very safe." She looks between Kat and Deme unsteadily. (Huh, the group split girls and guys. I just noticed.) (Well yeah. The cool people went downstairs. :P) What's all this stuff about mission parameters or something? (I'm drunker, and thusly more cooler!) * Vera finishes her game and sits down next to the others, lighting up a cigarette. * Katherine looks over at Vera. "So, what do ya do when ya ain't out with bunches of random people being told about fates and aliens?" (*blink* Kat, you're so drunk you're looking at yourself.) (I am?) (Awesome.) * Demetreia hesitates. "Er, nothing imiportant." Smoke. * Rochelle wrinkles her nose. "'f it's not important, why are you worryin' about it?" She waves. "Just wondering. Don't need to tell me anything." * Rochelle has another drink, then looks down at the mostly empty glass. "This is pretty good." * Katherine nods slightly. "It's nice. A good styli--" she blinks. "Aw, fuck! I missed midnight. No damn fair." She takes off her mask and puts it on the table. "Toooo drunk." * Rochelle blinks. "What?" And looks for a clock. Something happen at midnight? (Stone Drunk Kat Hunter) * Katherine nods, and waves the mug around. "Yeah, ya takes off the masks and stuff. S'part of the fun. Well, if you're not drunk and trying to hook up. Or maybes if you aren't sober." With her mask off, it's much easier to see the hazel eyes, and the twin scratch scars on her right cheek. Oh. * Rochelle takes her mask off and tosses it on the table, too. * Katherine hrms, and eyes Roch, and thinks for a second. Then she puts the mug down. "Nope! Haven't forgotten. Damn." * Rochelle blinks at Kat. "What'd I do now?" * Vera shrugs and takes her hat off, putting it on the table. "Closest thing I got." Her hair is surprisingly not messy. * Demetreia looks around. "I seem to have pulled in a bit early." * Katherine blinks at Roch. "What? Oh, no, z'not you. It's the fate stuff. Ya go and ya try and get away from crap like that, and it sneaks all up on you. Lousy fates." She then looks over at Demeteria confused. * Demetreia takes out her mask, puts it back on, and takes it off again. "Well, if it is a tradition..." * Rochelle looks at Demetreia for a moment, then giggles. Oh well. Happy Sangria-Beltane! Is it over? * Katherine 's eyes light up. "That's the spirit! Yeah." Then she leans back in her chair and shakes her head. "Nah, one more day." Cool. * Katherine runs her hand over her leather, lace, and belts outfit. "What a waste of an outfit. It was so nice, too, and then all this fate junk happened." * Demetreia eyes the outfit cautiously. "It is a waste? Will it self-destruct?" You got good food out of it. And drinks. And if it explodes, yeah, that'd be cool. Uh-uh. * Katherine grins. "I learned my lesson on that laaast year. No self destructing outfits for me." (Heh.) Fate doesn't dictate the kinds of clothes you wear. Nah, but it keeps you from picking up people in clubs. * Rochelle puts her chin on her hand. "Yeah, I was just gonna say that." * Katherine eyes Vera's face, and grins. "Unless you were interested, of course." Not right now. * Katherine half-shrugs. "Figured I'd ask. S'obligatory, or somethin'." Val'd smack me if she thought I didn't at least try tonight. You could go ask Ian. I wonder if he'd take off the costume. * Ian waddles cheerfully back up the stairs. Speak of the penguin. Ah, nah. I sorta get the feeling I know who he is, and until I figure it out, I ain't riskin' it none. ( HE can go anywhere. ) * Vera grinds her cigarette into an ashtray and looks over at Ian. "What's the deal?" * Leopoldo walks up the stairs. "We got it. Now let's move it out of here." * Ian looks over at the group. "Wark. We've got it, but you guys owe me money. And next time, we talk to Anders about getting an expense account." * Fitzroy is back as well. Anders'll pay my share. Least Roy paid for my drink. * Rochelle waves at Roy. * Fitzroy smiles at Roch "Maybe Anders'll just pay for the whole thing, Ian, but I'll chip in if he doesn't" I think Anders is gonna reimburse us for this. But yeah, I'll help cover the cost if he doesn't, too. He'd betters. I'm gonna have to do somethin' about my job for his stupid fate. * Ian nods, and then smiles. "Thanks." This is gonna be crazy. Not too crazy, I hope. * Rochelle downs the rest of her drink and pushes the empty glass into the middle of the table. Vroom. It's gonna be annoying if they're all like this. * Ian blinks, and then looks up at a clock. "Ah! That's why no masks." Or hats. * Leopoldo shrugs. "Don't expect me to take anything off." At least we did not have to fight for this one. * Katherine eyes the dregs of her drink, and downs it too. Her eyes defocus a lot, and the glass thuds down on the table. "Ughs." * Ian depenguins. "Whew." * Rochelle points at Kat and laughs. "Yer drunk!" And then she wobbles. "Whoo." * Leopoldo sighs. "Let's get this thing out of here. I'll take it up to my ship if you don't want to house it, Kat." * Katherine grins. "Well, whaddya expects! Somes of those sleythin bottles weren't fake." <> * Vera grabs her hat. "Works for me." (Sleythin American Football. *shudders*) * Ian is no longer a penguin! Ian is modestly attractive, with light brown hair and alert hazel eyes, slightly drunk as he is. Keep it hidden. We don't know who else is looking for it. * Rochelle pouts. "Damnit, and I'm not even really drunk yet. Just kinda." She pulls her mask off the table. * Katherine grabs her mask, crushing it slightly in the process. "I guess I wins, then. You can keep it, Leeeeos." * Ian nods. "I can house a few, too, if need be." ( I can keep one under my hat! ) (Amazing!) (Right. Looks like we're winding down, so let's wrap up. z-z) (Handy!) (...if you eat an artifact, do you get its powers?) ( Dandy! ) (Haaaaandy.) (.... NON) (Andy's theme. I think THAT should be Vera's theme.) * Katherine eyes Roch, as she grabs her purse and very wobbly-like gets to her feet. "Heeey, Roch." ( What's Andy Bogard got to do with it? ) * Rochelle stands, steadying herself against the chair. "Wha?" * Leopoldo surveys the statuette, judging how heavy it is. ( o/~ What's Aaaan-dyy....got to do, got to do with it...o/~ ) <> ( Only more lizardy. ) (Quick, replace it with a rock!) * Ian stretches a bit, and packs up his penguin costume into an elaborate bundle. <> <> You don hav to go back to Box City, if you can help me open my door withot havin' to wait until I can sees straight. * Vera puts her hat on and stands up * Rochelle blinks. Then blinks again. "Really?" * Leopoldo picks it up. "Geeze, so much trouble over such small objects. Oh well." * Demetreia ...stands up. Could be worse. Could be bigger objects. Then how'd we get it out of here? <> Forklift. * Katherine nods. "Sure! It's Sangrie-Beltanes. I have plenty of couch for a drinkin' boyfriend's sister." Should we arrange for a meeting later on? * Leopoldo yawns. "Either way, I'm just tired right now. I need to get some sleep... We could meet at Kat's house tomorrow at, say, noon? If it's okay with her." Well, flat. You know what I mean. * Rochelle giggles. "Not yer boyfriend anymore, but 'kay. A real roof would be nice." * Katherine nods. "Well, of course he isn't!" He turns her head to look at Leo. "I guess I'd be up at noon, sure. It's only midnight-o-thirty." Maybe we should wait a day. * Ian nods. "Since it looks like we're going to do this, I'll need to spend a little time delaying things and paying rent." I'm not going to be here in a day. Then chaaaange your plans! We're gonna go kick fate in the balls! * Katherine wobbles. * Rochelle steadies Kat. Yeah, yeah. I have to go back home, though. Hrmmm... How about three days from now so I can get my affairs in order? Works, I guess * Ian nods. "Works for me." Very well. * Fitzroy nods "Sounds good." O-kay. Can I count on you for a ride, Ian? * Katherine nods. Or maybe she just can't hold her head up. Ah, sure. <> <>
