<> <> * Vera shows up at the alleyway. She'd knock, but there's nothing to knock on. Instead, she waves her hat. "Hey kid. I see you're here today." <> * Demetreia looks up from petting Vwoof with one finger. "Hello..." * Demetreia blinks. "Today?" * Vera puts her hat back on. "Yeah, stopped by yesterday, but you weren't around." I was out looking at the city. Cool. Find anything interesting? * Demetreia half-shrugs. "Many things are interesting if one has not seen them before." * Demetreia stops petting Vwoof and stands up. "Is there something you require assistance with?" * Vera nods. "Yeah, like a vibrating cube, or something." She steps into the alley and squats down, "Listen, thought you maybe we could talk about some stuff." * Demetreia leans against a wall and slides down to Vera's level. "Stuff?" Yeah. Stuff. Like that stuff Anders promised. Thought you might wanna talk about it. * Demetreia tenses and looks down. "Oh?" * Vera nods. "Yeah." She takes off her hat and flips it around in her hands. "I'm not as dumb as I look. I mean, it's obvious you were bothered by it yesterday at the dinner. And I'm not very thrilled with Anders' promises, frankly... from the looks of things, neither are you. So maybe talking about it will help." ...you do not look...dumb. Act dumb, then. Inconsiderate. * Demetreia shrugs a little helplessly. * Vera rubs her head. She sticks her hat back on and tries again. "When Anders' first showed up, he said something about you not understanding something about your past, right? We're kinda in the same boat." Oh. ( Yes, Deme is hard to talk to. ^^ But you're the one that wanted the mini in the first place. ;P ) ( Yeah. I kept telling Cham it'd probably be short :P ) Soooooo... * Demetreia tilts her head inquisitively. You wanna talk, or what? ( Um....? ) ( Sorry, didn't see that last line. ) I...would not know what to talk about. Don't remember? * Demetreia looks down again and nods miserably. Ah... know what that's like. Well, you must remember a bit. I mean, you're convinced your a cyborg, and I'm not saying I don't believe it, but you've gotta have a reason for it, right? * Demetreia shrugs. It is one of the few things that are still in my memory. And...I am able to do many things that support that. * Vera nods. "So you remember some stuff." Bits and pieces, now and then. * Vera nods. "Same here." * Demetreia looks at Vera questioningly. * Vera rubs her head. "I've got bits and pieces too. Of my memory, I mean. 'Cept it's..." Oh.....? It's wierd... Like they might just have been ... I dunno, not dreams, but not real. They don't always make sense, and they don't add up." I mean, a lot of times. * Demetreia nods... So... yeah, same boat. That's kind of what I guessed about you, and that's why I figured maybe you'd want to talk to me; we have something in common. I am afraid...I don't know what I could say. How 'bout your creators? Remember their faces? Maybe I could check into it for you, if you want. * Demetreia shakes her head slowly. "I...get flashes sometimes...but it is never very definite." * Vera chuckles. "Another thing we have in common." Don't think I'm a cyborg, though. * Demetreia half-grins a little. It would be unlikely. * Vera grins back. "Heh. Probably 'cause of the hat." * Demetreia shrugs. <> * Vera obliges by petting Vwoof. "Well, anyway... Want me to see what I can find out? I can't promise much, but..." I do not have much to ask... There is not much I have to work with. * Vera nods. "I gotcha. Still, if you ever change your mind, I've got access to sources that... well, I kind of doubt any of the rest of the crew does." * Demetreia nods. "Thank you..." Sure thing, kid. * Vera stands up and stretches. "Wanna go for a walk?" ...all right? Cool. We could stop by that club Kat likes. They've got pool tables, if nothing else. <>
