<> <> <> (is there a dress code?) <> (^_~) (Aw. I was going to show in hakama and nice shirt.) <> <> * Threnody is sitting, dressed fairly well but a little out-of-place, as his only dress clothes happen to be Chinese. On the plus side, the little square cap keeps his half-punk hair out of sigh. He's sitting at the table stirring a glass of iced tea with a spoon. * Fitzroy shows up and is presumably shown to the table. He's wearing a suit similar to the one he had on in the first session. Collarless style with no tie. Hey Thren, been waiting long? * Threnody looks up, then shakes his head, waving a hand at the opposite chair. "Not really. Thanks for coming." <> * Fitzroy has a seat. "Sure thing. What's up?" * Fitzroy flips open the menu. * Threnody pauses a moment, stirring his iced tea again but not picking up a menu. "It can wait until we've ordered, I think." He smiles distractedly. "The truth is, I think this is the most we've said to each other since we met." <> * Fitzroy thinks. "hmm.. Probably." He smiles. I'm off in my own little world a lot, though. * Threnody keeps smiling. Stir, stir, stir. "Nothing terribly wrong with that." (Run, he's going to kill you!) (Can you hav ethe waiter show so we can move on? c.c;) <> (XD Hi.. XD .. *stir* XD .. *stir* .. *STABITY* XD XD) * Threnody looks up at the waiter, still smiling. "I'd like a little more tea, please. And... the red beanwurst with a side of udon in creme sauce." * Fitzroy hmms. "I'll just have today's special." <> * Threnody sighs and then stops stirring and has a drink, with a slightly irritated look. "Never been a fan of fusion cuisine, but you can't really avoid it on Mars." * Fitzroy takes a drink of water, assuming there's already some on the table. Some of it's pretty good. Not sure about some of this stuff here though. Pretty fancy place though. * Threnody nods a little. "I'd never been here before. I only really picked it because it'd be easier to talk without being overheard." He takes a deep breath, then looks at Roy squarely with an even expression. "So... getting to why I asked you to come." I see.. What's on your mind? * Fitzroy takes another drink. * Threnody closes his eyes a moment, then mmms. "I only know the direct way of asking this, so I'm going to just be blunt. How is it you know about the Game?" Blunt is as good as anything.. Well.. It's an urban legend of sorts in the circle I associate with on the net. I didn't really think it was real until the other day. * Threnody raises an eyebrow, taking another sip of his tea. "How did they learn about it? I guess... I sound a little suspicious, but before yesterday you could count the people who knew about it at all without taking off your shoes, as the saying goes." I don't think anybody knows who started the rumor for sure. * Threnody mmms faintly. "It's better if you don't tell anyone the truth, I think, which you probably know." Most think it's just another conspiracy theory. But.. It's been around for quite a while, as far as I know. * Threnody blinks a little. "Longer than 24 years?" * Fitzroy hmms.. "No, I don't think it's been around that long.. Maybe more like 10." I haven't said anything to anybody yet. * Threnody huhs a little, playing with the lemon on the edge of his glass. "Thanks. I don't know what kind of panic would happen if you did, though I'm not sure people would be ready to believe such a thing yet." I haven't really said anything about any of this aftifact business yet either. * Fitzroy smiles, "Probably just more widespread conspiracy theory." * Threnody hehs and nods, but still looks a little troubled. "How weird..." He pauses. "Do you think you could find out where the rumor started?" * Fitzroy drinks a bit more water. I could definitely look. * Threnody smiles. "Thank you. Although I'm sure Ronnie or Vernon would know, but... I'm not being hyperbolic when I say only a handful of people knew. Even the Cube's most trusted lieutenants weren't really human." * Fitzroy nods. "There's probably several handfuls who have heard of it but only know it as rumor." * Threnody smiles a little. "You must spend time in some pretty elite circles, Roy." * Fitzroy smiles too. "I suppose you could say that.. They share a thirst for information and can usually get it." * Threnody mms faintly again, stirring his tea. "I actually don't know too many hackers. Only one, on an in-person basis. My mother knew a bit of the trade, but she was only a beginner compared to Tim and Vernon, so." * Fitzroy nods. * Threnody pauses a moment, then looks at his tea with furrowed brow. "Can I ask you something? If... if your 'circle' is into information, why haven't you shared what you've learned with them?" * Fitzroy hmms.. "Nobody's really asked." People mostly ask for what they're looking for, if they need help finding it. And is that how you make your living? Helping people find what they're looking for? Pretty much. (>.>) (Sorry. Was AFK a sec.) (s'allright. I was debating on how to respond to that. ^_~) * Threnody nods again a little, sipping his tea again. "I have to say, part of me is a little worried by that. I'm not wanted by the official authorities, or there'd be trouble with Vera... but as you might know, since information is your business, there are plenty of other people who'd very much like to find the son of Isis Tsukitomi." Well.. I wouldn't give you away. Especially since I know you now. I don't see a reason to. * Fitzroy seems sincere, even if you're using your minde powarz * Threnody blinks a couple times at that, then manages to say "Very gracious of you," before taking another sip of tea. (He's actually refrained from it the whole time. ^_^) <> (Heh. Actually, I think Thren's curiosity's been satisfied, because he takes everything at face value. ^_^) (So unless Roy has questions for *him*, it's probably food->small talk->see you at work tomorrah, George) * Fitzroy waits until the waiter leaves and says, "I'm not the most loved person out there either." (Aha.) * Threnody blinks a few times, then pokes at the red beanwurst, which is probably living up to its name. "Well... depending on the type of jobs you'd take, I'd imagine hackers could make enemies too." * Fitzroy nods. * Threnody smiles. "But if it makes you feel better, I appreciate the feeling, so I won't say a word to anyone." There's a pause and he looks confused. "Not... that I know anything to tell, actually." * Fitzroy grins, "Thanks." * Threnody goes back to wincing at his dinner. "At least the udon isn't that bad." * Fitzroy pokes at his 'special' a bit and tries a little. So you know the whole Europa team? <> * Threnody shakes his head. "No, not really... I know my mother, of course. And probably all of them know who I am, but I was too young to remember the visits. Taluun and Vernon... I met them for the first time, same as you... I just had more to go on." Ah, I see.. They seemed to know you and Kat. (...oh, damnit.) * Threnody blinks at that a moment, then mmms faintly and clears his throat. "Well..." * Threnody sighs in what appears to be genuine irritation. "I don't know much about Katherine, myself. In her line of work, it's possible she met Vernon professionally. As for Taluun... no idea." (Ah, thank god I'm the telepath. ._.) * Fitzroy seems satisfied with that and chuckles a little. "I was going to ask about the ears the other day, but after seeing her reaction to Vernon, I decided I didn't want a fist in the face." * Fitzroy eats a good bit more of his 'special.' * Threnody smiles brightly. "Ah! Those I know. Spliced, whatever that is." There's a pause, and then he shuts his eyes and rubs his temples. "...those are taboo, aren't they? I probably shouldn't have said anything." Ah, ok. I thought they might be cybernetic since she works with that stuff. * Threnody ehes and takes a rather large sip of his tea, then lets out a breath. "Don't tell her you know that. I think I'll get in trouble, and she's hard enough to deal with as is." * Fitzroy grins "She doesn't seem like the forgiving type." * Threnody takes another long sip of tea. "She's not." (Oh, the floodgates have been loosed.) (Kat: RAGE!) (Battens the hatches.) (I don't think I have any more topics.) (Heh. MAybe a good note to end on, then.) * Fitzroy didn't seem phased by the mention of splicing, btw. * Threnody didn't either! (I'll close whenever.) (Ok with me to close.) * Threnody looks at his dinner in trepidation, and continues eating, but says no more. <>
