<> <> <> (Are we on the subway yet, or what? ^^) (That or walking towards the PT.) * Threnody is walking! He's opted for a short red Chinese shirt and black pants, as well as a small square Chinese cap of the same red. He's also carrying a small wicker basket of poppyseed bagels. * Rochelle walks along, hands in her pockets and with an almost bored expression. She's wearing her typical windbreaker and casual clothing combination. Still hasn't gotten rid of those old boots, either, despite all the money she's come into recently. <> * Threnody squirms a little in the silence. "I talked to Roy... I explained the plan, such as it is, to him, and we arranged for contact and such..." Yeah? He was okay with it? * Threnody nods. "I think he understood. Kat plans to, uh... brute force Demetreia into going, by the sound of it." * Rochelle blinks. "O-kay." * Threnody rubs the back of his neck with his free hand. "Well, psychologically speaking... though I wouldn't put it past Katherine to hogtie her if she had to." Uh, yeah. But I think that'd be hard. <> * Threnody looks around. "I always feel guilt when I come in here." * Rochelle looks back at Threnody. "Why?" * Threnody mms, his face coloring a little. "I grew up and never had to worry about anything. Even now I don't have to worry about having enough to eat or somewhere clean and safe to be... death threats and constant danger, yes, but." Oh. * Rochelle thinks about that. "Nah, you shouldn't feel guilty. * Threnody walks along. "I know it's not my fault, but..." He sighs. "I could be doing more to help people than I am." <> Yeah, but the people here don't need to worry about that much. < (+>>) * Rochelle walks up, waving. "Hey Edward." <> "Oh. Hello." Is Mad home? * Threnody smiles and holds his basket in front of him like a good little outsider. <> "No. She said she would be back in a bit. She has been collecting stones all day." Oh. Like those, huh? * Threnody keeps on smiling. "Maybe all of the animal fortunetelling used up her supply." * Rochelle snickers a little. <> "I don't know. She said something about it getting hard to keep track of it all." Okay. * Rochelle walks over a little more and has a seat, too, looking through the pile. <> "Did you bring me food?" * Threnody ehes embarassedly. "If you like poppyseed bagels, there's plenty." He offers the basket. <> "Oh. No, I don't think I do." Ever try 'em? * Rochelle picks up a semi-clear stone and holds it to the sun. "No, but something tells me I won't like it." * Threnody finds somewhere reasonably flat and unlikely to shift under his weight to sit down, putting the basket in his lap. "Ms. Hettie specifically requested them the last time, so I was trying to be a good guest. I suppose I should have asked what you like too, Edward. My apologies." * Rochelle blinks. She puts that stone down and picks up another one, looking through that to the sun. <> "That's okay." * Rochelle lets that drop, holding it in her hand and looks down at it. (looks -> looking) <> "Ach! Mornin' te ye, girlie, laddie." <> "Faith, ye remembered! Poppyseed!" * Threnody smiles in greeting. "I have an excellent memory." It may be the most arrogant thing he's ever said. * Rochelle looks up at that. "Hey Mad." She reaches into her pocket and pulls out the white stone, holding that one to the sun. <> "Ed say ye be goin ta Red Sweden?" * Rochelle lowers her stone. "Yeah." * Threnody nods, actually looking secretly relieved to not be Chinese Red Riding Hood anymore. "It's... complicated. But Rochelle and I will be with him, so I promise he'll be safe." <> "Safe as ye can make 'im, you mean. Time fer him ta be goon, anyhow." <> * Threnody flinches a little at that, but other than looking abashed he says nothing. * Rochelle shrugs, passive as ever. She glances at her stone. "Ye know where yer takin' him once ye get there?" Nope. * Threnody nods. "That's about the size of it. I'm hoping that once everyone is in Red Sweden, we can get together again, as it will be too late for complaints. But..." Demetreia'll be pissed. "She'll get over't. Other fish te fry, an all." Ya say that like ya can't be pissed at more than one person at a time. * Rochelle turns her stone over in her hand. * Threnody shakes his head sadly. "I don't understand any of it. Maybe Vera is right... maybe I'm just a busybody who should leave well enough alone. But..." "Understanding comes wi' time, Thren me dearie. Time be aaboot te catch up with yer wee bairn." <> "She doesn't like me at all. That makes me upset." * Threnody gets a totally blank expression. "...time what now?" He then turns to Edward and shakes his head. "It's not you, personally... how to put it..." (Fish?) (I was waiting to see if they or Roch said anything. ^_^) (They are waiting with bated breath.) * Threnody looks at Edward with a slightly sad face. "If I'm reading Demetreia right, it's more what you represent than what you are. She's afraid of facing her past, and because you're part of that, she's projecting it all onto you." <> "Oh." * Threnody ehes and rubs the back of his head. "It sounds complex, but it's not. Just take my word for it." <> "Th' future's a function o' the past, me boyo, an not a breath o' air can change that wind." <> "Ye ought to be goin' er'll ye miss the party. I packed 'im a bag." <> "Thank you, Hettie." <> "You will have to show me what to do. I do not remember having been on a space ship before." * Rochelle stuffs her rock into her pocket and pokes at the pile some more. "Sure." It's not that hard. You basically just have to sit there. Hey, Mad. Ya see the future with these rocks, right? * Threnody pauses a moment, then looks at Ed while Roch talks with Mad. "Edward... do you really want to do this? I don't want to force you into anything." <> "Aye." <> "I ... feel it is right to go." * Rochelle nods. She gets to her feet. "Do ya see anythin' besides rocks when you do it?" "Howd'ye mean, lassie?" Anything else. Besides rocks. Colors, or words, or whatever. "Lady ne'er kisses 'n' tells, me girlie." <> "Rocks is rocks, and don't ye fergit it." * Threnody glances at Hettie curiously a moment, then smiles weakly. "The difference between people like Dorian and people like myself, is that if he wanted to know, he wouldn't bother asking." * Rochelle smiles a little, faintly. "Yeah, sure." * Threnody gets a faintly troubled look after saying that. "Though sometimes, I wonder if the temptation alone is going to do me in someday..." "Ye don't get to be my age, laddie, without learnin' a trick er two." <> * Threnody smiles genuinely. "I am sure that's entirely true." "Ye should be on yer way. Make sure to eat befer hand, they'll be out of the snacks." <> "We get snacks?" * Threnody blinks. "Apparently not." I guess so. We can bring some. * Rochelle looks at Edward. "You comin'?" (I'm unclear on the time. Did we just come to pick him UP?) * Threnody looks at Hettie. "Feel free to keep the basket." Pause. "Again. What are you DOING with them, anyway?" (Todd - yeah.) (This woman is costing me a fortune in DunnoWicker.) "They're good fer holdin' all sorts of stuff." * Threnody blinks, as if he had not known that. "...it makes sense. I'm glad they're useful." * Rochelle nods. It must've occurred to her. * Threnody reaches into his shirt and produces a small silver chain with Hettie's blue stone attached to it. "I wanted to thank you for the stone, too." "'s good ye keep it. Good luck, they are." I need all the good luck I can get, frankly. "Aye, that ye do." * Threnody just blinks at Hettie. [some number in the mid 20's by now, for sure] * Rochelle waves at Hettie. "See ya later, I guess. C'mon, Edward." She heads off. "See ye, girlie! take care, na. An ye, Bear." * Threnody gives a little wave. "Sayonara, Mad Hettie." (I am a Blademaster?) (Yes. You want to talk more?) (Done R I!) (Sort of. Roch has a telepathic thought to finish.) (That all you got, Ard?) (Yup!) (Then we ar eindeed done!) <>
