<> <> * Threnody knocks on the door! THey haven't officially taken away his Earth member card yet. * Rochelle is there. And she's awake, amazingly, and looks up from the nails she was rubbing at to the door. * Katherine is sitting near Roch's bed and looks at the door too, saying, "It's either Thren, or someone you don't know. Which isn't that helpful to know." She's rubs her head a little. * Threnody does not exhibit a passwall-type power! But he does knock again. "Hello?" Sounds like Thren. * Katherine looks over and smiles a little. "Yeah. Should I scare him off, or can he come in?" * Threnody clears his throat. "I heard that." * Katherine stands up slowly and walks over to the door. Probably to open it, because Roch has never not let anyone in a door. And opens the door anyway. Take that, role reversal! I figured. For a hospital, this place has thin doors. * Rochelle snickers. * Threnody stands there looking much the same as before. "The telepathy doesn't hurt, either." He steps inside. Hey Thren. How're ya doin'? * Katherine smirks a little, then walks back to her chair. "True enough." She sits back down in the chair, refilling the Kat-shaped spot that she pressed into it. * Threnody lets out a deep breath, but plasters a smile on his face. "I've been better, but I can't complain. How about you?" * Rochelle shrugs. "Been worse. Just tired now." * Threnody nods once, then looks around for doctors. (Or anyone else.) Ah... if all of you don't mind... can I speak to Rochelle alone for a while? Not really. * Rochelle looks at Kat, guard dog that she is. (KAT NEEDS TO HURRY UP AND RESPOND BECAUSE IT'S LATE.) * Katherine nods, and stands. I'll be back in a bit. Not like I can wander too far without running into laser weasels. * Threnody smiles, and actually looks relieved at that. "Thanks for understanding." Could be skunks or something. * Threnody shivers. "At least it's not more ants." * Katherine shakes her head slightly, then just says, "Sure, Thren." She walks outside with thudding steps and closes the door behind her. * Threnody grimaces. "I didn't think she'd take it well, but..." (They were the thudding of not bothering to move, not the thudding of angry. ^_^;) (*points at /msg* Doesn't take a telepath.) (I know, I know. @_@) (*snerks at a line from ATC1* "Wanna try the nukes now, Kerrigan? Part of the scenery's still standing.") * Rochelle nods. "Yeah, well. She, uh. Was kinda here since I woke up the first time." * Threnody turns back around in his chair and nods. "She was worried about you, and angry at me. I don't think she wanted to stay for the aftermath." She is? What for? * Threnody sighs and leans back in his chair. "For... for not being part of it? For not being able to help you then. She's angry at me because she's angry at herself. Or something similarly psychological." Oh. * Rochelle seems to muse that over a bit, then shrugs. "It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but okay." * Threnody smiles a little, but he's clearly almost as tired as you are. "It's a sign that she cares about you." * Rochelle nods, but she doesn't say anything to that. * Threnody sighs, then folds his hands in his lap and knits his brow. "Listen..." Yeah? * Threnody sighs. "I had to explain to the others what happened." * Rochelle nods slowly. "Yeah, Kat told me." * Threnody bites his lip. "Whatever you are about to say, I deserve. All I ask is that you understand I was trying to help everyone, including you." * Rochelle stiffens for a moment, then relaxes, or slumps, or whatever. It's a pretty defeated look, for Rochelle. "I know." * Threnody blinks. He is clearly confused. "...you know?" Yeah. Fuck, I started screaming, right? Tried to hit the air. They're gonna know anyway. * Threnody nods slowly. The perceptive may notice he still has marks on his arm from you grabbing him, since his shirt is sleeveless. "I'm glad you're taking such a circumspect attitude about it." I'm trying. * Rochelle glances at Thren's arm. There's a pause, then she adds, "'Sides, I gave you those. That should make up for some of it." * Threnody blinks, then glances at his arm and shakes his head, smiling a little. "It's nothing." He pauses, then asks, "So... how do you really feel?" Tired. And... uh, scared out of my mind, really. * Threnody nods slowly. "Expectedly. Do you know what happened at all?" Kinda. * Rochelle looks away from Thren, and the slits in her eyes widen. "None of you came back. I didn't have a place to stay anymore, but it didn't really matter. Morning, those things came for me." She pauses. "Other people, too." * Threnody goes a little wide-eyed at that, then closes his eyes and breathes out a moment. "So... everyone's intuition was right. If we'd gone through with it, we'd all be dead by now, if your vision is to be trusted." Uh. I dunno about that. * Rochelle rubs at her forehead, then her hand goes through her bangs. "I mean, the blank spot... moved." (Her bangs.) (Damnit. :P) (Hahahahaahem.) (As amusing as that is hey, what are Kat and Vera doing taking pictures?) * Threnody blinks, tilting his head. "As in, you can 'see' again, but there's some point in the future where you can't?" Yeah. I think it stops when I get in the thing. * Threnody frowns, though it's likely in thought rather than displeasure. "So... us going into the other dimension is where things fall apart?" It's where things stop. * Rochelle seems to unfocus again. "I think not going is where it falls apart." * Threnody pauses, then rubs his face. "...now I'm confused." Okay. * Rochelle shakes her head. "Okay. I was gonna go in the thing, and I saw blank. Then I was gonna leave, and I... died." * Threnody pauses. "So... it was either go forward totally blind, or stay and be killed." He slumps back in the chair wearily. "I admit, I'm starting to agree with Vera a little bit." 'bout what? * Threnody drums his fingers on the arm of the chair. "She doesn't trust you, and she doesn't trust your power... there was a big to-do about it that I took part in, but..." He grimaces. "The truth is, I was only half listening to what people were saying to begin with. That took a lot out of me. I'm still a little unfocused." Uh, yeah. Sorry about that. You didn't have to. * Threnody frowns. "Of course I had to!" * Threnody actually seems a little upset about that comment, atypically. "Do you think... do you think you mean so little to me that I wouldn't try to save your life?" * Rochelle blinks at Thren. "That doesn't mean you had to." Yes it does! ... Not really. I mean I died before. * Threnody shuts his eyes. "Rochelle..." He pauses. "Maybe you don't have the right frame of reference to understand how I feel. But if I sat there not doing anything I as good as killed you." * Rochelle tilts her head, thinking that over, then says, "Okay. Thanks anyway." * Threnody lets out a breath, his head falling a bit. "I guess that works." I mean... yeah. * Rochelle shrugs. "I'm not good at this stuff." * Threnody looks up. "But you don't have to be sorry. I did it because I wanted to." * Rochelle rubs at her fingernails. "Well, yeah. But..." She stops for a moment, then goes back to it. "Guess it doesn't matter. It can be punishment for telling everybody, or something." * Threnody laughs a little. "Alright." He pauses. "What are you going to do now that everyone knows? Things... got a little divisive. I think Leo said some things he didn't really mean." About leaving? About... everything. I'm... I dunno. I guess I'm going. Blank's better than dying over and over again. * Threnody nods slowly. He suddenly starts looking around the room. "I meant what I said. I'll protect you as best I can." * Rochelle blinks. She glances, too. "Somethin' wrong?" * Threnody looks off to the side a bit. He's blushing. "I didn't know how to say it without it being misinterpreted. Why do you think I asked Kat to leave?" Oh. * Rochelle snickers. Eh, she'd just be jealous anyhow. * Threnody says, maybe a little humorlessly, "Twice over." (Hell, thrice over if you're really counting.) * Rochelle decides not to press. "But yeah, thanks. Uh. If I get it back, I dunno. Switch sides of the street at random and see who follows me, maybe." * Threnody laughs in spite of himself. "I don't think Ian is too bothered. Kat and I will stay with you regardless, but you knew that. Roy is as impossible to read as ever. Leo is having doubts again. As for Vera..." He trails off. "I told them they were blue." ... Huh. Now they probably think we're both cracked. * Threnody laughs. "They already think I'm cracked, and they simply thought you were strange instead of insane." Guess they know better now. If people in suits start comin', you distract them while I point out the getaway. * Threnody grins. "It's a deal." * Threnody rubs his head and gets up. "I think, having said my apologies, I'm going to go get some rest and hopefully let my subconscious clear all those images out of my head." He pauses. "This isn't the first time this has happened?" * Rochelle shakes her head. "Nah. Once when I was five. That I kinda remember, anyway." * Threnody actually whistles. "You're much stronger on the inside than you look." (I gotta get going. Need Z.) (Okay!) * Rochelle shrugs. "I don't remember the details. Don't really want to, but yeah. I lived just fine, and my brother got a broken nose." * Threnody ehes. "I'll keep that in mind." He does not mention that his memory of it is perfect and HIGHLY CREEPY. "Get some rest. We have a busy day soon." (Big downfall of a telepath. "Hmm. Seem to have forgotten. Lemme just tap my own memory centersGAH!") (Heh.) (Ookay. Got less than 6 hours for sleep. Gonna go unless Roch's got a killer one-liner planned.) (*snicker* Sorry.) * Rochelle nods. "Not like I can do anything else." ("And so the day... was not saved, because it wasn't in danger. But if it were saved, it was saved thanks to... the Emopuff Girls!") (Woo!) <>
