<> <> (Uh... damn. I don't know what kind of mood he left in.) (Pasted to you yay.) * Threnody closes the door behind him. He doesn't exactly look *pleased*, but his expression could certainly be worse. * Katherine blinks a few times as Thren closes the door behind him and then stands from the chair she was sitting in. "So, apology accepted and all that?" * Threnody nods slowly. "I think she understands why something needed to be said. She's logical like that." * Katherine smiles a little. "Yeah, I figured. And telling her beforehand takes all the shock out of it." She yawns a little. "So, how're you holding up?" She looks him over. "Besides seeming tired as hell." * Threnody grimaces a little. "She doesn't really remember much of what she saw, so I guess my answer to your question is: lucky her." * Katherine frowns, as if trying to piece that together, then says, "So you do?" * Threnody nods once. "In florid detail." Uhf. Is that _normal_... florid? (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=florid&x=0&y=0) (Thanks, I was on my way, but slow computer. ;_;) (Definition 2 in particular.) (We'll just say she's never quite see it used like that, I think. Oof, what a complex word.) * Threnody waves a hand distractedly in a circular motion. "Vivid, fervent. Too clear." * Katherine quirks her head slightly, then shakes it. "Aha." She pauses. "If that's normal for you, then... yeah. Lucky her." * Threnody knits his brow. "I don't know if I was born with it, or it's a side effect of being telepathic. I just seem to have a good memory." * Katherine 's ears twitch. "I know the feeling. Although it's not usually that good." She suddenly laughs and grins a bit. "Well, I could always try to scare it out of you." * Threnody frowns. "I don't quite understand." Was a little joke. When I said I could try to scare you away, for Roch, the only thing that I could think of that would have worked involved asking you to have sex. * Katherine grins a little. "Figured that'd get you running " * Threnody frowns more. "I don't think that's particularly funny." * Katherine yawns again. "It's damn funny when you can't sleep, and you did run away." She licks her lips, then says, "They didn't bring our stuff from the hotel, did they?" * Threnody rubs his temples, shutting his eyes. "Could we be having this discussion at another, less stressful time?" * Katherine nods and says. "Yeah, sure. Was moving on anyway. So, did they teleport everything over or not? Becausse dammned if I'm getting any sleep tonight without that inhibitor." * Threnody shrugs his shoulders. "You'd have to ask Vernon." Ugh. I don't even want to see Vernon. Least he could have done is give us a sheet of paper telling us what was going on before telling us what was going on. * Threnody sighs and finds a chair, throwing himself into it. "If he had, we wouldn't have come... most of us, anyway. And if Rochelle's vision was right, we'd all be dead." * Katherine will throw herself in a chair too! "Yeah, probably, but springing it on people gives us... uh, what happened. Maybe he should have had a cartoonish presentation of the fact." * Threnody opens one eye and trains it on Kat. "You can't be serious." * Katherine grins a little. "Sure, why not? He had trouble answering the questions in person, I bet a cartoon complete with happy dimension hopping people and big squid-looking evil stuff would have given the Sig-Aspers hours of amusement." * Threnody sighs and slumps in his chair, closing said eye. * Katherine shakes her head. "Just tired of getting all this shit sprung on us." * Threnody keeps his eyes shut. He does look tired. "I think tomorrow I'm going to recommend that some of us who feel comfortable going can go, and the rest should stay and help Vernon." * Katherine blinks. "You think that'll work with Roch's vision?" * Threnody shrugs his shoulders. "Her vision wasn't terribly concrete. Even she doesn't understand it. But if it's important that at least somebody goes, then this is easier than sitting here for three days arguing about it." Yeah, that's true. Not a bad idea, just that the more she throws these out, the less I want to just say, "Fuck the visions." Especially because she's been right once. Or twice. Or something. Hell, I don't know, she doesn't tell me. * Threnody says, quietly, "She's been right many more times than once." * Katherine looks over at Thren and throws up her hands a little. "See? I don't know what the hell's going on." She sighs. "Well, Vera said she's going, so that might just be Roy and Ian and Leo." * Threnody blinks, opening one eye. "...she did?" * Katherine nods. "Yeah. When Roch explained it, she got all commando. 'Maybe I was still over there kicking their asses.' And then she wanted to go. Don't ask me, she's more chaotic than Yvette." * Threnody blinks the other eye open. "Who's Yvette?" * Katherine frowns slightly, then says, "Old teammate. Was very odd, used drugs a lot because of a really shitty life." Made her chaotic, but she liked me, so hey, it all worked. A...ha. * Threnody frowns, rubbing his chin. "The more I think about it, the more concerned I am about Vera..." (Getting called away for dinner. Will be back ASAP, but this is going at a good clip, so. ^^) (Back. Whuu. Sorry.) * Katherine nods slightly. "She's damn competent, but fuck-all if she isn't as puzzling as Roy as to why the hell either of them really sticks around." She chuckles to herself. "Guess I just don't have the teambuilding skills I used to." * Threnody shakes his head. "No... not about her place on the 'team'," he says faintly. "More about her personally." Yeah? * Threnody leans back again. "I went on a bounty with her a few days ago. I asked her to take me, actually, for my own reasons." * Katherine blinks. "Oh, huh. I thought you weren't really..." she trails off a little and follows it up with, "So, I assume it went well." Well, we got our bounty, despite clashing with another pair of bounty hunters, but... * Threnody leans forward, putting his chin in his hands. "I likely talked more with Vera that day more than I have any other time. I found out some things that don't add up the more I think about them." * Katherine frosna a little and turns more towards Thren, with a thoughtful look. "Like?" * Threnody looks up. "She doesn't know how old she is, or how long she's been a boutny hunter." .. Deja-vu, Deme-style. (I'm hoping I remembered that right. I know she doesn't remember how long she's been bounty hunting.) * Threnody nods slowly. "I wondered why it was she was so strongly attached to Demetreia, and now I know why." * Katherine nods a little, then says with a quirky smile, "How weird. Half of us have superhuman memories, and the other half have lousy ones." * Threnody sighs and sits back. "Some of them make sense. If Demetreia had a childhood trauma like the loss of her parents, the cyborg researchers... it could be she just imprinted it into her psyche. Medically speaking, that's not so uncommon, though a bit extreme. But Vera... that's some selective amnesia." * Katherine nods a little. "Damn right it is. She's had a little other trouble, like forgetting about the dimensional aliens." She ahakes her head. "Nothing we could do but ask her, but she might not even know even if she wants to talk. Ugh." * Threnody shakes his head. "She won't. I don't think she cares too much. At least, not as much as Demetreia appeared to." * Katherine shakes her head. "Well, that's her call. We'll hit it when we hit it." * Threnody sighs and leans back. "It's not pressing. I'm just concerned." * Katherine nods and taps Thren's hand once with a finger. "Hey, makes sense, alright? Just... not much we should do about it." * Threnody looks up, then rubs his temples. "I'm very tired. Try to understand." * Katherine sighs and nods. "Yeah, I get it." She rubs the back of her neck and says, "You should probably hit a bed." * Threnody gets up and stretches. "That is the plan for the time being." * Katherine nods a little and stands herself. "Yeah." Beat. "And... I don't think I said it, so thanks on heling Roch too. Roch didn't seem that worried, but I don't buy it." * Threnody turns around a few steps away. "It's happened before, she said. When she was a little child. I think that explains a lot." * Katherine nods. "She said that, and... well, I guess. TC explained most of it, for me. That place just..." she sighs, and looks over towards Roch. "You don't come out of there trusting, or sane, or happy. Just strong. Or dead." * Katherine chuckles a little and looks towards Thren again. "But you know her better than me now, so if you say so, it's gotta be enlightening." * Threnody sighs and rubs his face before he can start walking away. "I knew this would happen." * Katherine looks at Thren with a mostly even, if tired, look. "What?" * Threnody says, quietly though with a note of what might be resigned despair: "You're jealous." * Katherine opens her mouth immeidiately, then stops andn rubs her eyes. "Yeah, well." She stops rubbing and looks at Thren. "I can't see into her head, or yours, wanting to or not. I can understand it, and why she opened up to you, but I don't have to like being out of the loop." * Threnody nods, once, seeming satisfied enough with that. "So long as we have an understanding on that." * Katherine nods slightly. "Yeah, sure, I'm all about understanding. Just..." she rubs her head, then chuckles. "Go to sleep, Thren." * Threnody nods and goes to do just that. * Katherine yawns again, stretches, and mutters, "Just not that unlucky," before sneaking back into Roch's hospital room. <>
