<> (Dangs! Right into the game this time.) <> <> <> <> <> <> (Anyone else here with us?) (A couple Joe Q. Grunts.) (But they're on the other side of the room, playing with a deck of cards. Out of earshot.) * Rochelle is seated in front of the screen and watching the 'net with a decidedly blank expression. Her thumb's idly rubbing the nail of her forefinger... probably out of habit, since her nails aren't painted in this universe. * Katherine has been doing a good job of seeming sort-of absent all day. Or maybe it's just that she's focused on something. Except for the intermittent sighs, like the one she's doing now. * Fitzroy shakes his head, unplugs his TSM jack, and stares off into nowhereland. * Leopoldo is sitting in one of his chairs, face straight up at the ceiling with his eyes closed. Whatever he's doing, he's not jacked in, although he's definetly active mentally. (Wow, we're a bunch of nothing. ;P) * Katherine mutters, directed at the group, "Waiting never gets more enjoyable." * Rochelle shrugs. And speaks up! "It's not that bad." <> * Katherine chuckles a little. "Yeah, but you wait all the time, Roch. Besides." She gestures at the TV. "TV." Hey, it's a pretty good episode. * Katherine looks at the TV carefully. "What the hell IS it? That seems pretty damn retro." Happy Days. It's from the late 1900's. <> "Eyyyyy." * Fitzroy gets up, "Speaking of retro.. Anybody wanna play?" *he points to the game* ... Well, then, it is pretty damn retro. * Rochelle shrugs. "Still good." * Leopoldo doesn't bother looking down. "Yeah. One of the most successful series from the 1970s, portraying the 1950s." Last episode was in the '80's, though. True. (After he jumped the shark!) (Sure did!) * Fitzroy walks over to the foosball table and starts fiddling with it. <> * Katherine stands up slowly and stretches. "Yeeh, sure, Roy." She frowns slightly for a second at something, then finishes, "Been a while." Don't worry. I don't think I've ever played a real one. * Katherine says carefully, as she tries to check out whether her side works, "But you've played fake ones?" <> * Katherine smiles faintly. "Glad I never wanted to get into hacking. You guys must get stunningly bored.' * Rochelle rubs at the back of one of her ears and keeps watching the regularly scheduled program. (The couch eats Roch.) * Fitzroy nods. "Still not much. The digital didn't really interest me." Good. 2d6+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Leopoldo (2d6+2) and gets 8. (AUGH I AM A SNACK.) (Tastes like strawberries.) * Katherine gestures at Roy. "Toss it in." (Really? Aww.) * Fitzroy puts the ball in play and misses his first swing at it. <> (Oh no, the game's over! No, wait, it's just the TV.) * Katherine gets to foozing! Somethingsomething in Japanese, the player doesn't know the lyrics. But Kat still knows her physics. *whack*. <> * Fitzroy foozes too, now and then getting a 'foot' on the ball. <> * Vera ... enters the room! * Rochelle doesn't look up from watching the 'net, whatever show's going to be on now. "Hey Vera." 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Leopoldo (2d6) and gets 11. Yo. <> * Leopoldo sighs. "Stupid shark movies." * Vera is carrying a tin can filled with some kind of liquor. ( Canteen, I mean. :P ) <> * Katherine doesn't acknowledge Vera! She's too busy trying to prove she can school geeks at Foozball. ( Although canned alcohol has its merits. ) * Fitzroy is schooled for a point as he misses a block! * Vera finds a seat somewhere, sits down ungraciously, and drinks. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Leopoldo (2d6-2) and gets 6. * Katherine grins faintly at the pointn, and gets to more foozing. * Rochelle puts her elbow on the armrest and chin on her palm. * Leopoldo opens his eyes and looks around for a radio of some sort that he can turn on. * Fitzroy foozes back! Take that! <> (There remotes for the wallscreens?) <> (>_<) (Keep on' rockin.) (Aaaand, Ard's AFK.) (._.) * Vera keeps on drinkin' ... er... rockin'. * Vera watches TV while she's at it. Mmm... rubber shark. (Just take the damn remote.) * Leopoldo finds a remote for one of the wallscreens and starts flipping through channels, eventually comming on one that has Kenny G. going over it. (Sorry!) * Katherine hums a little song as she owns. Er, plays. <> (Er. +3. +2 if you know Kenny G.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Vera (2d6) and gets 9. (Eh, well. I'm just watching TV, but I'll roll anyhow!) 2d6+3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katherine (2d6+3) and gets 12. <> (Ha ha! Owned.) 2d6+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Rochelle (2d6+1) and gets 10. (Was that a hit or a miss, Vera?) * Rochelle blinks as Leo changes the channel and looks over to him. "Hey." ( Hahahahhaha. Miss. :P ) (Just checking.)( <> (Snark.) * Leopoldo listens for it himself. * Fitzroy doesn't seem to notice/care. * Rochelle gets to her feet, walks over to Leo, and taps him on the shoulder. Yeah? You turned off my program. (Now I kill you. What's your unarmed at?) * Leopoldo sighs. "Too bad it doesn't have picture in soundsystem. Still... Something's up with that recording, although I can't put my finger on it..." (Snicker.) (Another round! At a +1 this time.) 2d6+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katherine (2d6+1) and gets 8. 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Vera (2d6-1) and gets 5. ( That time I made it. ) 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Rochelle (2d6-1) and gets 6. (I lost all my perception in this lame-ass body. ;_;) (Ha ha!) (Yeah, well I lost all my body. So nyah. :P) * Katherine scores again! Wahooey! <> (I can't hear it, either. But that's fine. ^^) (Unless this is Body or something.) * Rochelle eyes Leo for a moment, then just shrugs and walks back to where she was, flopping back down. (That's okay. I had to go until I hit -2 before I made the check. ^^;) ( I'm trying to imagine what kind of static it could be. ) <> Any clues on what it is? I mean, if it was normal static or just plain blatent copyright, I'd be able to figure it out. But... This is just weird. * Fitzroy looks over at the screen, letting another foosball slip by. * Vera shrugs. "Maybe someone left a magnet somewhere. * Katherine says semi-absetly, "What what is?" * Rochelle looks over at the output. It's kind of like the Fonz, only not at all. No idea. By the way Roche, you really aren't missing much. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Leopoldo (2d6-3) and gets 2. Yeah? Yeah. The shark hasn't even started tormenting people yet. * Katherine looks across the table at Roy the distracted. "So, what are they doing over there?" Mmmm... Could be something encoded in there. Seems to be some funky noise in that song they're listening to. (It's telling us to eat your brains.) * Katherine goes, "Huh." Foos foos foos. <> * Fitzroy grins "Whoa! Watch it with that thing." * Leopoldo punches a few keys on the remote, and the wallscreen starts picking up another signal, overlapping it with the current one. "Let's see if these wallscreens are what they're advertised to be..." * Rochelle watches. (The foosman killed Kat! ;_;) <> Great, you broke it. (foosman, in the common room, with his foot! Winner!) * Rochelle blinks. "... Hey, Kat." And Roy. Stop playing a sec. * Katherine watches the man fly off. "Poor guy. I'll give him a hero's funeral." * Fitzroy looks over at the screen again and watches. There's the... problem. * Katherine turns back at Leo/Roch. "Well, I lost a lineman, so I suppose I can take a break.' <> * Fitzroy nods and moves closer to the screen. Yeah? So what's it doing in some song? Encryption, easily. Still... * Katherine looks at it, then shrugs slightly. "I don't have the brain for that at the moment. Roy?" Hmm.. You read binary? * Fitzroy jacks into the wallscreen and starts recording the data. "I can record it for now. " * Katherine smiles faintly and shakes her head. "Not at the moment. Not my brain, remember?" (US Women's track&field team rules.) It's not encrypted with something I can decrypt immediately. We can try to decode it once we have more of it downloaded. Have you noticed a repeat point yet? ( Probably. But right now they're showing the swim team, looks like. ) <> (Yeah. ^^) * Katherine mutters to herself. * Vera drinks to herself. (US women swim team also rules. ;P) (US women swim team = pwnz.) Nope. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Leopoldo (2d6-3) and gets 2. ( US women swim team. XD ) * Leopoldo thinks for a moment. "That signal's pretty powerful. Definetly stronger than it needs to be. Considering it's broadcasting encrypted information would mean..." Anybody care to state the obvious? * Katherine tacks on, semi-sarcastically, "Gotta be coming from elsewhere. Outside the base that supposedly houses the rest of humanity." Which would have to be the bugs, I guess. Maybe that's our ticket out of here. * Katherine frowns and walks over closer to the group. So as to minimize the yelling about things that the grunts would not like to hear. "The Bugs aren't anyone's ticket out of here. Why the hell would the Pyramid be our ticket out of here?" * Rochelle shrugs. * Katherine frowns. "Maybe..." she looks to be trying to think about something, then shakes her head. "I don't know." She rubs her temples. "Sleep can't come soon enough." * Rochelle idly rubs at her fingernails again. * Katherine looks over at the screen. "Is it done yet?" (Have we found a repeating signal yet?) <> Not yet. Space Jesus. Doesn't seem to be repeating. * Leopoldo frowns. "I'm gonna go take a walk around the base. Maybe I can figure where this signal is comming from. Anyone want to join me?" * Rochelle looks up from her nails and gets to her feet. "Sure." Roy, that comp have a mapping program on it? Umm.. yep! Mind comming then? Need to triangulate the location and all. Uh. Don't we need him to stay here and keep writing down the message? No problem. I don't think recording more of this will do any good. It's binary. I don't exactly know how we'd decode it anyways, with no frame of reference. * Katherine stares at Leo as if he were made of cheese. * Vera shrugs. "Buncha numbers." Buncha true and falses, actually. * Katherine shakes her head. "Whatever. Good luck tracking it down, Could ask if there's a map of this place first, though. Makes it easier." I do have a few maps of the base with me. There ya go. <> * Leopoldo blinks. "Well, don't have to worry about the static anymore." Yeah, but now you can't track it either. * Leopoldo sighs. "Well, there goes that idea." * Leopoldo flips the TV back on. * Rochelle flops back down. (Wargh. Wrap it up. Your GM is dying. >_<) I can at least work on decoding what we have. * Katherine nods, and says. "If it's humans, it shouldn't be hard to do." She glances at Roch. "If it's Bugs though... well, shit. Let's hope Anders comes by. We could ask Vernon." It'd be nice. (Last poses....) * Rochelle goes back to watching the television. "Yeah." * Katherine shakes her head, and goes to retrieve her fallen lineman. * Leopoldo watches Jaws do his thing against the hapless peoples with gernade launchers. (Jaws is so much better with grenade launchers. (It is.) (Dun dun dun dun SPLODE!) <>
