<> (I'm going backwards. c.c;) (Sorry, I don't have a DeLorean.) <> <> <> (Kat, you have no memory of the past OOP.) (Good to know.) * Ian yawns, and stretches energetically. "Huh, wonder how I got here." He starts looking around. <> * Katherine frowns. "Who knows?" She is wearing a black halter-top and a pair of tight leather shorts, down to mid-thigh, with simple long black boots. A scar is visible on her upper arm, a round one on her stomach, a pair of cheek slashes on her face, and a slash on her left side. She has hazel eyes and flaming red hair in a long braid. (And she's 5'11". WHOO.) * Ian is dressed fairly neatly, for someone who's just spent the night sleeping on a park bench, in a casual buttondown and beige trousers. He's medium height, with light brown hair and deep hazel eyes. He looks to be in his mid- to late twenties. * Katherine also has even more desc, looking slightly asian, and having tiger-striped wolf ears. And claws. Pointy ones. * Ian looks over, and blinks. "Nice costume!" * Katherine frowns, and stands, stretching. She looks down at Ian and grins ferally. "Costume?" * Ian raises an eyebrow. "Well, I assume so, anyway." * Katherine snorts. "Haven't you seen a twenty four before, man?" (...okay, that was fairly dumb of me.) (Good luck digging yourself out!) * Ian snaps his fingers. "Ah! Sorry, I'm still waking up." * Ian smiles. "I do a lot of costuming, so that's what I assumed." <> * Ian sniffs, and looks around. "Mm." * Katherine hrms, and shrugs. "Fine, costuming, sure." She doesn't even bother looking around. "Must have been one hell of a party, is all I can say." Hmm? * Katherine frowns. "Although usually my head isn't this messed up." <> * Ian shrugs. "I'm not sure what happened to me, either. You all right?" * Ian looks over at the new person. Never better. * Katherine eyes Roch. "Hey, it's you." * Rochelle looks around, scratching at the back of her head. She fixes her blue, slitted eyes on Kat. "Oh, you again." (Ian has not been exposed to your visual charm, Roch. Go for it.) This a new date, Kat? He doesn't look like your type. (Yeah, gimme a sec. ^^) * Katherine smirks. "I can't remember. Must have been one hell of a date." * Katherine chuckles, and shakes her head. "Then again, he can't either." * Ian smiles. "Yeah, I just woke up here about two minutes ago." * Rochelle is a young woman, in her late teens. She's about mediumish height, with tousled, auburn hair streaked with blonde that falls below her ears, but above her chin. She has ghostly pale skin, and her clothes - jeans, t-shirt, windbreaker, and boots - are particularly plain and worn, but functional. So you have no idea what you're doing here, either? Hey, it's a 'can't remember anything' party. Three cheers for Sangria-Beltane. * Ian grins. "I'll drink to that." * Rochelle grins. "Hip hip, hooray. And you have somethin' to drink?" (I probably don't have my purse, do I?) Not yet - I was joking. There are plenty of places around here, though. <> * Katherine shrugs. "Well, I got nothin' for money. I hope I didn't lose my purse." * Rochelle checks her pockets. "Nothing here, either. Guess drinks are out." She looks at Ian expectantly. * Ian checks his own pockets, just to make sure he has his own wallet. (Any luck? :P) <> Eh, I'll pick it up. It's Sangria-Beltane, after all. * Rochelle grins. "Hey, I like this guy. What's your name?" * Ian bows politely to both of you. "I'm Ian - pleased to meet you. And you are...?" * Katherine eyes Mr. Stuffy. "Call me Kat." (Hey now. >_>) (YOU BOWED. At Sangria-Beltane!) (So I'm eccentric! Not stuffy. ;_;) * Katherine looks over at Roch. "And since Rochelle isn't volunteering, that's her name." * Ian smiles. "Okay." (I forgot to mention Kat's 19 or so.) (Sorry, got pulled away. ^^) (Well, now you're introduced! Get drunk! Go!) * Ian looks out at the street. "Hmm, what's open at this hour..." * Katherine grins. "What isn't?" Ha, good point. How about The Jolly Aardvark? * Rochelle nods. "I'm game. But..." (*ducks penguins*) * Rochelle frowns, looking around again. (*throws shoes*) (Wah!) <> * Ian blinks. Oh look, another sign of life. 'morning! * Leopoldo looks around timidly as he walks out, almost jumping at the sight of other people. "What's, um, going on?" (Describe yourself, lizard boy.) (Oh dear. Please bear with me...) We can't remember what day it is, and Ian here's gonna buy us girls drinks. You? * Leopoldo rubs his scaled head. "I.. guess it'd be better to be with other people." * Leopoldo stands a little over six feet, and is leaning slightly forward. His skin is heavily scaled, the scales being mostly grey, but more peachish around the sharper contours of his body. He's got normal blue eyes, and little hair to speak of, save the small strands of black that have come thru the scales on his head. The other prominent feature on him is a large lizard-like tail, which explains why he's leaning somewhat forward. * Leopoldo 's clothes is non-descript, simply a pair of blue geans and a buttonless blue shirt. Oh, and shoes. Can't forget shoes. Come to think of it, I can't remember what day it is either. * Katherine shrugs, and says, "Welcome to the club, although I don't know if Ian'll cover you too." * Ian shrugs. "Sure, why not?" I can cover myself. So, do any of you live here? I do. * Rochelle looks Leo over with her own cat-like eyes. That done, she glances around again. "Let's get going. And around, yeah." Yeah, I'm in Red Brooklyn. * Leopoldo looks around too. "Um, where is the place we're going, then?" * Ian starts strolling towards the sidewalk and orycteropus theme drinks. Just a couple of blocks this way, if I remember right. * Leopoldo walks in the direction Ian's heading. * Rochelle shrugs and follows him. "Seems mostly harmless." * Katherine follows too. "Hell, I've done more dangerous things." She smirks at that. * Leopoldo looks a little uncomfortable as he walks. Yeah, yeah. You can tell them all about it while we get drunk. <> * Rochelle frowns again. What the hell? It's Sangria-Beltane. We should have to knock people into the street to get by. This is just... eerie. I've been here before, but Red New York has never been this empty. Because it's not supposed to be. * Ian nods. "Something's odd." * Rochelle rubs at her forehead. She looks around again. "What kind of joke is this?" I don't know, but I'm going to go bonkers soon if this keeps up. Bah. Enjoy the quiet. It's hard to enjoy it when I don't know how I got to the quiet. It's too quiet. * Ian is looking around for anything unusual. Aside from the lack of usual stuff, that is. <> * Katherine frowns. "Okay, now this just isn't any fun." * Rochelle peers in. "I'll say. Oh wait, I did." * Leopoldo blinks when he looks in, and his skin changes to a red tone when his brain tells him what he just *did* see. "Uuuuhhhh..." Well. At least the fire marshall should be happy. Are we even still in RNYC? Could just be dreaming. I, um, hope that's the case. Sure looks like it. * Ian pinches himself. * Rochelle turns and sees Leo's new color. She blinks. "Full-body blush?" * Katherine smiles faintly. "No, I'm not dreaming. That, I'm sure about." Ow. Me neither. Uhm, people are sup-p-posed ta-to have f-faces... right? As a general rule, but maybe he was just born without a face. I'm more worried about this whole no people thing. * Ian nods. * Leopoldo calms down somewhat, his colors slowly changing back to normal. "Y-yeah. That's right... Just didn't get one..." Yeah. Who knows? 24s can be anything, lizzy. * Rochelle grins. "Leo Lizzy." (Ah, I missed that Leo didn't introduce himself. Well, assume he did! :P) (Antisocial bastard.) <> Huh? My name is Leo, actually. Leopoldo. What are yours? (I'm not antisocial. I'm just freaked. ^^;) (Woot, you can reverse them.) Rochelle. * Ian waves. "I'm Ian." * Katherine looks at the bar, "Kat. C'mon, big spender, Roch." She walks to the bar. * Leopoldo walks in after someone else does. * Ian grins, and heads towards alcohol. * Rochelle wanders in at the end. <> "What do you need?" <> * Leopoldo takes a deep breath and takes a seat at one of the tables. "You guys get something to drink. I'm not thirsty." I'll take an Annoyed Aardvark, a little dizzy. * Rochelle looks around, distractedly. "Something. Anything. I don't care. You're buying, Ian." * Ian nods. "Fair enough." * Katherine chuckles. "Yeah, I don't think I've been here before. Something good." Think of an emotion, apply it to an aardvark, and there you go. A little silly, but hey. <> "Three AAs, then, one slightly dizzy." <> <> "Right, there you go." <> "Mind if I ask what the hell you're doing out tonight?" * Ian blinks. "We don't know, actually. But it's Sangria-Beltane, no?" * Katherine picks up one without the green something. * Ian picks up the green one. "Kind of. It will be, after it isn't anymore." * Katherine then takes a sip, and mms. "What's that supposed to mean?" * Ian tilts his head. "Pardon?" * Leopoldo shakes his head, annoyed, and walks up to the bar. At least there's noise over here... "Well, it's not even now, right now, really." "It's kind of a maybe-then." * Rochelle blinks. "Can you be a little more cryptic? I don't think I follow." Can you give a concrete answer? "Yes, and no, in that order." * Ian blinks. "So you're saying we're caught in a Heisenbergian probability or something?" * Rochelle takes her glass and looks into it, then has a drink. "Nothing so trite, no." A what? * Ian smiles, and takes a drink. "That's a relief." Eh, it's an old theory that comes up again and again in fiction, about how something that could happen two ways is in a way *both* of them until the result is visible. <> In other words, drinking's much more fun. Nice of you to put it into layman's terms. * Katherine says, "I agree with Roch," and takes a swig. * Ian shrugs, and keeps drinking. That's too complicated. Who wants to read about it? I've never been a big sci-fi fan, although it isn't all bad. <> * Ian nods. "Me neither. Some's good, but too many books get bogged down in all sorts of strange theory." * Rochelle looks out the window and has another sip. "Oh look, weather." Books, books. I've read too many already. <> * Ian looks over at the bartender. "So, when are people going to show up again?" * Katherine drinks some more. "It's a change, at least." * Leopoldo looks outside. "Weather... How odd." <> "If the wind's picking up it won't be too long, then." <> "So. I might as well say a little something." * Ian raises an eyebrow. Hmm? * Rochelle puts her drink down and looks back at the bartender. * Katherine just takes another large drink. "You're kind of between times, right now, a place most people don't get to. You're dreaming it, really, but it takes a bit to get here while dreaming." * Rochelle grins. "Can't be a dream, huh, Kat?" "It isn't a dream. Not really." * Katherine smirks, but it's a ... sad smirk? "My dreams don't normally involve anyone in them living." Hm. I'm pretty positive I'm alive. * Rochelle looks at Kat, then back to the bartender. She does lose the smile, though. * Katherine shrugs. "I figured not dreaming would have been a good thing for you all." She takes a huge gulp of the drink. This isn't one of my dreams. There's no radio... "Freshen your drinks?" * Rochelle shakes her head. "Then what are we doing here?" I wish I knew. * Katherine pushes her nearly empty drink forward slightly. "Got me." Sure, thanks. No clue here. If we don't know why we're here, then we should probably leave. Leave to where? A street where there are people? To where? <> "You're here because you're sleeping. And because you're going to be very busy in the next few weeks, and you need your rest." * Rochelle raises an eyebrow. "I am?" News to me. * Katherine starts drinking again. "I don't like being busy." I know I'm going to be busy. But being this active on a subconcious level is not going to help me get my rest. * Rochelle spins her glass, looking into it. * Katherine hmphs. "At least you get rest." Jeez, Kat. If he's tellin' the truth, you're getting rest now. Guess I should be lucky then, right? (s/be/feel.) (These were supposed to be plotless. I suck.) (You do.) I guess. A drunken rest. Better than most. (Teh suxxorz are you.) ( Just toss a Kirby or two in. Always works for me... ) * Ian nods. * Rochelle holds up a finger pseudo-philosophically. "If you get drunk when you're asleep, does it really count as being drunk?" (Two catgirls, a Cowardly Sleythin, an author, and a Kirby walk into a bar...) (Ow!) (Haw!) Hmmmm. It'd better. I... wouldn't know. <> (Roch wasn't a catgirl last time I checked.) * Rochelle has another gulp of her drink, then starts when Vera wanders in. She looks over. * Ian blinks. "'morning." Hey, welcome to the dreamers club. Have an aardvark. (HAVE AARDVARK.) * Leopoldo nearly yelps when the door closes from Vera entering. He waves somewhat shyly. "Hello." <> "Hello, newcomer. Drink? And the rest of you, refresh yours?" * Ian nods, and moves his glass forward. "Thanks." * Vera waves casually. "'morning." She sits down wherever's convenient, and shrugs at the bartender. "Coffee, I guess." (Whatcha look like, Faith? I mean, Vera?) (...aardvark not good enough for you, eh? >_>) "Black, white, mocha, cappucinno, martian green..." * Katherine puts her drink down. "Sure, as long as Ian's willing to pay, I'm willing to drink." If this isn't in the real world, though, then does the monetary cost matter? Ask the bartender. * Leopoldo looks over at the bartender, still not completly comfortable with the faceless one. "Of course not." Then keep 'em coming. <> "Well? * Ian nods. "Even better." * Vera looks just like Sum Gai. No really. She's wearing a dress shirt and slacks under a dusty brown trenchcoat, and wears a wide-brimmed hat on her head. No high-heels, either; men's shoes. She's being described, so she can't order something yet Cham. Hang on a sec. Anyhow, despite the clothes, she looks like a very pretty woman, about average height, with long blond hair tied into a loose pony-tail at her neck. ( And I hope that got through :P ) (Yes.) (She's a cowgirl! Cool!) Black is fine. * Katherine eyes Vera appreciatively, and then takes another drink. "Good choice." (Has anyone sent you our descriptions?) (Prly not. Do that.) (Argh.) * Rochelle pulls her battered red windbreaker up over her shoulders, almost self-consciously. ( Ard sent me a bunch 'cept for Katherine's. ) <> (Yup.) >_< (Woop.) * Vera takes a sip. "Yep." She takes another, then sets the mug down and rubs the bridge of her nose with two fingers. So, in case you didn't know, you're dreaming and in between time or something. But the rest of us are, too, so somehow it's okay. * Leopoldo shrugs. "Weird, huh?" Oh, is that all? Yeah. Nothing to get really worked up over. Perfect for getting drunk over, though. Gotcha. 'Specially since it's free. * Katherine grins at Vera, and takes another drink. (*watches Arwen talk to him, then go 'Oh, penguin!' as she walks back to her room.) (*hugs her penguin* ^^) * Vera props her head up with one hand and takes another sip of her coffee. Coffilicious. So, while we're here and 'resting', perhaps we should talk about something other than why we're here? * Ian nods. "Sounds good to me. Hmm." * Rochelle shrugs to herself. "Anyway, I'm Rochelle. I like your coat." She rolls her eyes at Leo. "I'm working on it." * Katherine snickers. "Yeah, we can talk about Current Events, despite not knowing what day it is." * Ian smiles. "I'm Ian." * Rochelle snorts. * Vera nods. "Thanks. Name's Vera." ( But you knew that. It says over ---> there ) Very interesting attire, Vera. I'm Leopoldo... just call me Leo. ^^; * Katherine nods, and grins. "Kat'll work for me, Vera." She takes another drink. Will she ever stop? Who knows? Check. <> What's with the weather here? * Rochelle goes back to her drink, then stops when she hears the storm. She turns to watch it. * Ian turns as well. "Interesting." * Katherine turns and sips. "Imaginary storms." Funny how all our imaginations are working the same way. * Vera sips her coffee again, finishing it. "Anything's possible, I suppose." * Rochelle has another drink. "Bet I won't even remember this." <> "Ah, hell. Guess you guys'll be going soon...." Weather always get bad when people leave? "'s just the way this place goes." Fascinating. What a pity. Yeah, not often I get company. Do they all end up here? "All the ones who matter, eventually show up here." * Rochelle looks briefly confused, then shrugs. "Yeah, okay." Hey, I matter? Matter with what? * Katherine snorts and gulps. "News to me." "Just the ones who matter." * Ian hmms again, and finishes up his drink. I matter. Go me. I believe I've had met my weekly 'criptic statements' requirement. * Vera takes out a pack of cigarettes and lights one up. "Already?" I'm on a low diet. Definitely. You missed the first batch. * Rochelle runs a hand through her hair. "Tell me about it." She spins her glass on the counter. Oh? So should I be upset about that, or happy? * Ian smiles. "Happy, I'd say." * Vera nods. "Happy it is." Happy, sad... I bet it's not going to make a difference after we wake up. Probably not, but in the meantime, may as well. * Rochelle chuckles. "Man." She goes back to watching the storm. <> "It's time, then." * Katherine grins ferally. "Well, hell, if it won't matter after we wake up, wanna dance, anyone want a kiss before we dissapear?" <> "Go through there, finish out the night, wake up and remember you've got jobs to do. And good luck. Maybe I'll see you one more time." * Vera puts out her cigarette. * Katherine puts her drink down, and hmphs. "No takers?" * Rochelle snerks. * Ian shrugs. "Shall we dance?" No thanks. Sorry, Kat. If I wanted ta kiss you, I would've done it a while ago. * Katherine laughs. "Oh, what Zak would have given to know that, I bet. C'mon, big spender." * Rochelle whistles. "He doesn't need to know." * Ian smiles, and stands up. * Vera shrugs to herself and stands up. * Rochelle finishes her drink, plunks it on the counter, and gets up. She brushes her jacket off. * Katherine stands too, and grins. "Well, I won't know after tonight myself." <> * Katherine leans in towards Ian. "The kiss would be easier. Dancing's hard without music." * Leopoldo smirks. He gets up, walks over to the door, and opens it. "Maybe one more time. And don't remind me there's no music, Kat. Please." * Ian shrugs with cheerful abandon, and leans forward. "Good point." <> * Rochelle raises an eyebrow. "Stepping into the net?" * Katherine grabs Ian and pulls his head forward into a very savage kiss. Go Ian! * Ian returns the favor! (You realize that this is more in-game action than Sei has gotten, ever? ^_^) (Not more than Nebby! Nyah!) * Rochelle doesn't seem to care about the two of them sucking face. She walks over to the door and peers through it. "Well, are you gonna go?" she asks Leo. (;_;) After you. Must keep my manners, after all. (...mind splodey. >_<) * Katherine breaks the kiss, and winks. "Hey, not bad. It's almost a shame this wasn't just us waking up drunk in the park." She gestures towards the door. * Rochelle shrugs. She waves to Vera (she'd be the only one besides Leo paying any attention) and steps through. ( Huh? ) (Okay, apparently Roch was wrong about Vera paying attention. ^^) * Ian grins. "Well, thank you." * Katherine turns, and walks out the door. * Ian walks through the door. * Vera shoves one of her hands in her pockets, pinches the tip of her hat (just in case it's windy in there) and walks through. * Leopoldo holds the door, of course, and walks through, last person there. <>
