* Maria walks up to the van, doing a fair job of not seeming terribly wounded. She opens the van, gets in, closes it, and lies down on one of the wide back seats. * SpiritRei vanishes! And Rei opens her eyes. * SpiritRei is now known as Rei * Rei scrambles to her feet and bumps her head. "Ow!" * Maria chuckles weakly. "You okay?" * Rei rubs at her head and glares up at the ceiling. "Fine. You're not one to talk, anyhow. Peter's gotta have a first aid kit somewhere in here." * Rei starts looking for said kit. [Rei finds it, eventually. I'm mostly gonna ignore this place.] I'm not? Does this mean I'm mute? And if so, why didn't anyone tell me before now? It's the sort of thing I need to know. No, I mean you're a lot more hurt than I am, so I should be asking you how you are, not the other way around. Even though I already know. Oh. Well, then. * Rei gets back to the back of the van, kit in hand. "Now hold still while I patch you up." Yes, doctor. * Dicesuke has joined #van * Rei giggles and starts trying to do said patching. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Rei (2d6) and gets 9. (Ha! I win.) * Maria is patched! "Nice. Too bad it doesn't go witht he outfit." What's with that outfit, anyway? Makes you extra sneaky or something. No, I'm always that sneaky, when I want to be. It just keeps cameras and infa-red detectors and that sort of thing from seeing me. * Rei blinks. "A stealth suit?" She leans to get a better look, and it's probably not at Maria's hawt bod. It also protects me from stuff. First time I've actually had something cut through it like that. Ooh. Can I take a look at it sometime? When you're not in it, I mean. I'd love to see how it works. ( Hah! Good thing Rei's not a girl. ) (I'm not? ;_;) ( ...not a boy. ) (Watch it!) ( *selfwhap* ) * Maria smirks. "Sure. In fact, I could use an extra pair of hands when I go to patch it up. If you help me you can look at it all you want." Sure! Patching it up sounds fun, too. You do that yourself? Can I play with it? Stealth suits are *so* cool. * Maria shrugs. "Sure, I guess. And I've never actually had to patch it up before. Like I said, this is the first time something's cut through it." * Rei tilts her head. "Yeah? Where'd you get it, then?" I mean, if you didn't build it. Did you build it? We could trade notes! * Maria smirks. "I let some of the geeks at Interpol get the wrong impression." Ooh, sneaky Maria! I'd never be able to get away with that. * Maria winks. ^_~ * Rei laughs. "Not fair. But going back to them might not be a good idea. I think I can patch it up - stops infrared and cameras, right? Can't be too hard." * Maria nods. You do this sort of thing a lot? Play with stuff? Sure. It's something to do for eight hours a night and four hours during the day. * Maria raises an eyebrow. "That much? Don't you ever... oh, right." * Rei lets the grin fall off her face for a bit. "Nope. It can be kinda lonely sometimes, but hey, I get lonely easily. That's life." * Maria frowns and nods. Well, hey. I'm a night person, so if you ever need someone to hang out with look me up, I guess. * Rei pulls up the smile again. "And, hey! I've got you guys now, right? Even if you're just my coworkers and all. In fact, I think I've only been called a freak about five times so far... not bad, not bad." * Maria chuckles, and winces. Need to stop doing that. * Rei rubs at the back of her head. "I'll stay quiet if it keeps you from laughing so then you won't hurt anymore. I can do that." * Maria shakes her head. "Nah, it's alright. Just need to laugh more carefully." She nods sagely at that. * Rei grins and sits on the floor, folding her hands on Maria's seat and putting her chin on said hands. "How d'ya laugh carefully? I always thought it was just a huge burst of emotion. That's why it's so hard to fake laughing, 'cause if you don't really feel the emotion, you can't let it out." ( ... Next weeks villian: tickle monsters! :P ) (How evil.) Oh, it's tricky. But I learned the secret technique to careful laughing as part of my martial arts training. No, really. * Rei grins wider. "Really really?" Not directly. But I can control my breathing, so why not my laughter? In theory. In theory, but I dunno about practice. I think it'd be awfully hard. Probably. * Rei considers for a moment, then shakes her head. "Not gonna test it, anyhow. It'd be bad if you screw up right now." * Maria smirks. "Thanks, I guess." * Maria sighs. "Should've just kicked him in the back of the head." * Rei powerposes. "Rei to the rescue!" She drops her hand. "Or not. I didn't do too good a job rescuing back there." Well, I was trying to undo the rope, though I guess you wouldn't know. I could've done it, too, but I checked on you instead. * Rei smiles sheepishly, and odd look on her. "I guess I screwed up, huh?" Heh. We both did. So don't worry about it. I guess. ( People're coming back, so prepare to rejoin the main chan. ) * Rei runs a hand through her exceptionally messed up hair as she ponders something, then grins. 'Sides, I won't tell if you don't. We can say they jumped me from behind and had faceless ninja minions, or something. And that the rope was glued there. * Rei laughs. But if we go with that story, I took out five of the ninjas before they got me. ^_~ It doesn't really matter, anyway. I think things might've been worse... I mean, come on. What if security *wasn't* shut down? And not every thief's a sword ninja person anyhow. * Rei nodnods. ^^ Meh. He's a fighter, sure. He could be a really lousy thief, tho, and just have lucked out on this. And if the security wasn't shut down, that would've made things more fun. ^_! ^_~ Remember what they said? The security was already off. So maybe they *are* lousy. Doesn't really matter, anyhow, they got away. Any idea what they took? Something from the African exhibit. They took the sign, too, so I don't know what it was. [Session End.]
