* Makoto would put a hand on his chest to stifle his panic, if he weren't so far above admitting that he ever panics. [You successfully make it into the office (you think)] [Inside is a desk (with a computer), a chair, a filing cabnet, and a bookshelf.] [Just as Makoto is about to move forward, he spots a camera in one corner. It's positioned so that it doesn't get the door, but rather everything else mentioned above.] * Makoto freezes in his tracks. He closes his eyes for a moment and shifts, quickly taking off his jacket as he takes the shape of the scientist he saw leaving the office earlier. He drops the jacket near the door and walks confidently toward the file cabinet. [The alarms don't go off, so that's good! ... unless they're silent.] * Makoto does a lot of silent praying that the alarms are quite loud, and simply haven't gone off. * Makoto wishes Chie or Rei were in the office instead of him as he tries to translate any writing he sees on the computer or filing cabinet or even the bookshelf well enough to at least have some vague idea of what he's looking at. [The files in the cabnet seem mostly normal.] [Most of them are experiment files.] (Ordinary sorts of experiments, I guess? Like hairspray?) ( Yeah ) ( One is titled "What happens if you spray it in your eyes." ) * Makoto realizes he doesn't have much time, and, despite the sudden pang of curiosiy about whether or not this new hairspray would be any more or less dangerous in contact with the human eye, moves his attentions on to other file or book titles quickly, in case he's stuck having to use the computer on short notice. ( Gimme a... ) ( Mind - physical sciences roll. ) [Makoto doesn't find anything noteworthy.] [It looks like he'll have to use the computer! Or search the desk.] * Makoto winces at the prospect of searching the desk and the computer, but he crosses the office just the same and does that. He tries the desk first, opening drawers and scanning the top of the furniture for anything useful. ( Mind - writing ) [Makoto finds a lot of papers in languages he can't understand. One stands out, though: It's in some really weird language he can't figure out; maybe Peter could.] * Makoto hestitates for only a moment before folding up the strange paper and tucking it in his pocket. Before looking at the desk or the computer any further, he glances around for any reflective surface that might be large enough to grant him passage. Just in case. [There doesn't seem to be anything capable of that, unfortunately.] * Makoto sighs and gives the desk and the computer one last look of frustration before crossing the office back to the door. He grabs his jacket and slips through the doorway, having thankfully negleted to close it behind him... * Makoto remembers almost too late to change back, and shifts his features at the very moment in which he steps through the door.
