[Day: Friday, July 2nd. Time: 11:00 p.m.] [Lazar is in a Gypsy shop. What do they sell? Gypsy stuff, like... Eh, not important. What is important is that Lazar's old friend is here! Most of him, anyhow. Getting out of Transylvania cost him an arm and a leg. But he seems happy.] [Action!] * Lazar watches the others leave, and turns back to Yitzak, switching over to Hungarian. "I can't believe you're still alive. I thought everyone from the village was dead..." So did I! I was sure of it. Well, no... I had some wishful thinking. I got knocked out on patrol... so stupid. I saw something moving, and like an idiot, instead of sounding the alarm, I went looking... got knocked out, and when I woke up... Hey, when you woke up, you were alive. 'S better than being dead. Only one still alive was Nalia... she transfered my soul into this half- finished golem just before she died... buried everyone I could, myself included, then walked to Japan. * Yitzak nods. "Which explains a lot." Explains what? How the hell did you get away? What the hell happened, for that matter? * Yitzak shakes his head. His face goes serious. "It... it was a massacre. Hundreds, THOUSANDS of nearly every kind of supernatural you could think of swarmed the village in unity." * Lazar rubs his head. "Shoulda sounded the alarm... we coulda been ready for it, maybe stood a chance..." No. * Yitzak shakes his head. "No chance. There were too many, and they were united in a way I've never seen before." S'because Dracula's back. And he's teamed up with freaking Lucifer. * Yitzak stares. "Dracula? Count Dracula? My God. I'd heard stories from the elders, of course, but I.... Lucifer? Wait, I thought he didn't really exist." Neither did I. Then I visited hell, met a Greek God, saw Lucifer... got a lot of questions for the next rabbi I meet. Sounds like you've been busy. * Lazar nods. "Too busy. Nalia sent me to Japan to meet a supernatural expert she knew... I ended up on a team of supernatural hunters working with Interpol. Did you know the Japanese are completely insane?" Yes, actually. They have no idea what's going on in the world around them. Even the ones that do don't get that this is a freaking *war*... and they never shut up! No, they don't. Oy... so how did you and Esmerelda get out? I was fighting as best as I could in the chaos. Somehow I caught sight of her running from some of the monsters and made my way over. Well, I fought them, but I got overwhelmed. I lost my leg and my arm, couldn't fight any more, so I dove on Esmerelda to shield her from them. And they skewered us together. * Lazar winces. Yeah. But hey, turns out we lived. After the monsters had left, we looked for survivors, but didn't find any. So we grabbed a few personal belongings and hitchhiked our way out here. Figured they wouldn't come after us all the way across the world. * Lazar shakes his head. "Even after all this time, I still can't believe they're all dead, y'know?" I mean, sure, we'd had missions go bad, people get hurt, killed... but we were the Hunters! Nobody fucked with us in Transylvania. And then, one day... poof, we're gone. * Yitzak shakes his head. "I know." And I'm supposed to be the last hope for vengence for our people... a half-finished golem. * Yitzak peers at Lazar's forehead. "You're right, you're missing a rune." Was missing a rune and a half before, but I found a guy who fixed the second rune. But I need a real Kabbalist to do the third one... and there aren't exactly a lot of those running around Japan. * Yitzak smiles. "You know, one of the things I took was a tome of Rabbi Spiegel. Maybe I could do it." ... you serious? I have the mallet and chisel on me... was one of the things Nalia gave me... * Lazar peers at Yitzak, narrowing his brow. "You're not gonna carve a smiley face into my forehead, right?" Nah. Would I do that? ... Don't answer that. Seriously, I've been looking it over, practicing a bit... Maybe I can do it. Maybe's better than nothing... don't suppose it mentions what happens when a golem with a soul gets its runes completed? I don't think so. I haven't really looked through it, but that kind of thing just hasn't happened before. * Lazar rubs his neck, producing that odd grinding sound. "Figured. My friends seem to think that doing it will blast away my soul or something, leaving me like a normal golem... me, I don't really care about that." Hm.... Why would they think that? Golem's supposed to be the 'Fist of God'... just a mindless thing, doing what it's commanded. Right now, I'm being powered by Nalia's magic. They seem to think when the power of God flows through me from the runes... well, I go poof. But like I said, I don't care. If that's what it takes, so be it. * Yitzak thinks. "Hmm... Well, I don't really know what would happen, to be honest." Only one way to find out, right? * Lazar palms his pendant, revealing his golem form. Alright. Let me call Esmerelda down here. I'm going to need an extra pair of hands. Pardon the pun. * Yitzak does just that. [Esmerelda come out. She looks like she did... well, last session, because it wasn't that long ago.] * Lazar gets the chisel and hammer out of his pouch, and kneels down for convenient access. Well, let's get started. Esmerelda, be a dear and help me with this, alright? [WHAM WHAM WHAM! Some time later, Lazar has a severe headache from both having his head carved into and hammered; Esmerelda's aim isn't that good.] ... ow. ... sense something. To west. Heh. Almost like a labotomy. Yeah. Bob's Diner. * Lazar scowls. "Is thing responsible for attack on village. Can feel it." * Yitzak blinks. "Well, I suppose the unkosher foods... Nah, that doesn't make any sense." * Lazar blinks, and switches back to Hungarian. "Why'd I slip into Japanese? Oy." * Yitzak grins. "It grows on you." No, no, far to the west. Remember, golems are supposed to be able to track... I think this is the tracking. Oh.... Yeah, that makes more sense. It's probably Dracula that you're sensing. * Lazar nods. "Well, at least I'll be able to find him." * Lazar stands up, somewhat shakily. "I need to meet up with my friends..." *pauses* "... in the morning." *sits back down* They can wait. Got more important things right now. * Yitzak smiles. "Good. We can reminisce about old times." * Lazar palms his pendant, reactivating his Lazar illusion. "Yeah. Been almost forgetting the good times lately. Be nice to remember some of 'em." [And so they talked through the night. The end!]
