* Rei floats along. She's been pretty quiet. Sulky, even. And tired, since she's 
almost run into the wall a few times.
* Asanjya trudges. It is quite definitely a trudge.
* Chomei walks along. Whoo.
<Rei> (Stupid Chomei.  I bet *he* didn't burn all his EP. >_<)
* Chie walks. She's unusually quiet, as she's tired and she had to go back over 
the water. At least she didn't fall in this time. We think, anyway.
* Maria fairly bounces along. She's already cleaned Dimitry's goggles of 
invincibility off with a rag and is trying them out. *peer*
<Brett> [Maria finds that the goggles keep slipping off her face.
<Rei> (True, he did have a big head.)
* Maria frowns and adjusts the headband. Does anything look different through 
them?
<Maria> So how'd you like the cieling expressway, Chie?

<Brett> [Maria finds that the headband does not adjust.]
* Lazar is lugging the two tonfa. Yay SherpaGolem!

* Maria pouts at the nonadjustible headband. Then goes over to put them on 
Lazar's head. Maybe they'll fit him.
* Rei runs into the wall on a turn. "Ow." She blinks. "Sorry Mr. Wall." Reverse, 
go around!

<Maria> I think she needs a nap. 
<Rei> Yeah, but I had to apologize to the wall or he might have taken affront 
and caved in on me which really would be an anticlimactic ending to this 
particular *yawn* adventure.
<Chie> Yeah, I guess it's a good idea not to piss off the walls.
* Chie yawns, too.
<Maria> I guess. Do they mind?
<Chomei> More than we'll know.

* Rei rubs at her nose.
* Asanjya speaks up for the first time in a while. "As long as it's not a god or 
goddess among walls, we'll be fine."

* Maria hops down from Lazar's shoulders, having deposited the goggles on him. 
She walks over to Rei and tries to help her along. "Don't erode the walls, Rei."

<Lazar> Get it! His head of being bigger because he get more confident, and have

* Lazar looks a bit silly now. Big ol' golem, with a bright red nose, goggles on 
off-kilter, carrying a bigass sword in a harness on his back and a tonfa over 
each shoulder.

* Maria blinks in confusion. "Uhm, whatever."
* Rei eyes Lazar for a moment, then reaches over and pokes his nose. Just 
'cause.
<Brett> [Lazar's nose starts flashing and playing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 
ringtones.]
<Rei> ... Cool, it's a cell nose.
<Maria> ...
<Chie> That.  Is awesome.
<Rei> It is!  He has to keep it now. *yawn*
* Chie grins madly.
<Maria> It makes music! I want it now.

<Brett> [The nose pops off when the song finishes.]

* Maria takes it back off. Or tries to, anyway.

* Chie seems remarkably unconcerned about this.
* Rei doesn't seem distracted by the ball anymore. She's sorta zoning out and 
looking into the distance.

* Rei blinks, then looks lazily over to Chie. "Huh?"
<Lazar> Makes me look like clown statues. And clowns no scary. Unless have 
chainsaws.
<Lazar> ... bad memories.
<Chomei> ...  Chainsaw wielding clowns.  That's different.

<Brett> ( Yeah. Usually they have pickaxes. )

* Maria tries to take the clown nose back off. Again.

* Rei looks at Chie for a bit, then nods. "Yeah. I'm just... tired." This is 
followed by a smile, but not really her manic grin. "I'm okay."

<Chie> Well, we should be able to go back and rest soon.
* Lazar eyes Maria.
<Rei> Cool.  That'll be good.
* Rei doesn't *sound* like that'll be good, but she does sound tired.

* Chie keeps an eye on Rei.
<Brett> [The nose pops off once the song finishes.]
* Rei goes back to zoning out, looking lazily into the distance. After a long 
pause, she says, "Aren't we s'posed to go into the city or something and talk to 
Ensof and stuff?"

<Chie> I thought that's what we were doing.
<Chie> Aren't we heading for the city now?
<Brett> [You are at the gate.]

<Chie> (The gate to the city from whatever cave we were in?)
* Maria makes the nose disappear, and doesn't notice the loom, being on Lazar's 
shoulder. "Okay, okay."

<Chie> Well, less standing and more walking, then!
* Chie heads for the city!
* Chomei heads for the City too!
* Maria walks through the gate, if it's open. And if it's not, she'll have to 
fix that, now won't she?
<Brett> [The gate is not open.]
<Chie> ...wait.  Wasn't this open when we left?
<Maria> Well, yeah.

* Asanjya sighs. "Maria, before yougo....

* Maria goes through her pack and hands Asanjya the ball. "Right, right. Here, 
call her and she can get someone to let us in."

<Brett> [For the record, the gate is a spirally thing that opens like an iris.]
<Brett> [There's no evident lock.]
* Maria frowns and looks for anything that isn't just part of the gate. A place 
to put your hand, a knob to turn, a set of controls, anything.
* Asanjya holds the orb. "O benevolent goddess, we humbly request an audience 
now that we have completed our sacred task." Her face does not match her words.
<Lazar> ... since Ensof say we no should cause trouble, and breaking in through 
gate definately count as 'make trouble'... maybe just wait for guard what let us 
out to let back in?
* Chie makes a face, too, but away from the orb.
<Chie> Yeah, but how's the guard gonna know?
<Brett> [There's nothing! No controls or anything.  None evident, anyhow.]
<Chie> I mean, it makes sense that they wouldn't leave it open for us until we 
get back.  
<Brett> [The orb shines.]
<Brett> [Then the goddess's visage appears.]
<Asanjya> Hello, venerated goddess.
<Maria> It won't make trouble if nobody knows we're doing it, Laz. I get into 
places people don't want me in all the time without them knowing. This is just a 
different sort of door, that's all. 
* Chie shuts up.
* Rei is zoning out anyway!
* Maria pokes at the door here and there experimentally.
* Chomei looks over at the Goddess's image.
* Goddess smiles pleasantly at Asanjya. "Hello, my child."
* Asanjya smiles, tiredly. "We've finished."
<Goddess> I'm not on the prime material plane right now, so please leave a 
prayer, and I'll get back to you.  Good fortune to you, and be with the light.
* Goddess vanishes!

of getting through it.

<Brett> [Maria can't find any controls, hidden or not. She's not even sure how 
the gate is supposed to be opened.]
<Lazar> Well, whatever plan is, 'Lazar smash' no can be it.

* Rei hovers down until she's sitting on the ground and closes her eyes.
* SpiritRei emerges! Not really looking any more awake, but certainly more

the moment. "Dammit, this isn't *working*!"

<Chie> And where's Rei?  Why didn't she stay with us when she came back?
* Lazar is forces back again by the recoil from headbutting momentarily, but 
roars and charges in with a full-on body tackle.
<Asanjya> The goddess isn't responding, there's an alarm in the city, and we 
can't get inside.
<Chie> Agh, this is so fucking stupid!
<Chomei> Well, that means we just have to kick ass and go in.  Right?
<Lazar> 2d6+4

* Chie *glares* at the gate. Maybe she'll get eyeflashes of doom again.

* Lazar bounces off, gets back up, and throws a flurry of piledriver-like 
punches at the gate.

<Brett> [Lazar makes a much bigger dent. The gate is looking less sturdy.]
* Lazar throws another flurry of punches.

* Chie would try to do something, but she *really* doesn't want to get in 
Lazar's way.

* Chie looks like she wants to hurt something now.
<Brett> [Lazar's head busts through the gate.]

* Lazar pulls his head out of the hole in the gate, and rips at it, switching 
back to Hungarian with his screaming.

<Chie> Okay, let's go!  ...wait.  Someone should stay here and keep an eye on 
Rei.

* Lazar charges through, leaving the tonfa behind on the ground, and runs as 
fast as he can (not that fast) into the city.
* Maria comes out and follows Lazar!

<Maria> ( Maria could, but someone would need to give her the idea. )
<Lazar> ( She's like 90 pounds, soaking wet. =P )
<Chie> (But Chie and Chomei need their hands free to use their weapons.)
* Chomei has Rownal out. "Dammit. Help me get Rei on my shoulder."
<Chie> Okay.
* Asanjya stands up
* Maria hops up onto Lazar's shoulder. "Lazar! What are you DOING?"
* Chie gently lifts Rei up and situates her on Chomei's shoulder. "You sure 
you'll be able to carry her *and* use Rownal?"
<Chomei> No.
<Chie> (shoulders?  I don't know.  I'm having trouble mentally picturing this.)
* Lazar doesn't even seem to notice Maria as he charges full speed into the 
city. He's now muttering in Hungarian, as opposed to screaming.
<SpiritRei> (Fireman's carry, Rownal in the other hand.)
<Brett> [As you head into the city, you notice something climbing up the sides 
of the cathedral.]
<Brett> ( Sight checks! )
<Chomei> Com'on, hurry up!
<Asanjya> 2d6
* Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6) and gets 6.
* Maria blinks at the something.
<Chomei> 2d6-4
* Dicesuke throws the bones for Chomei (2d6-4) and gets 1.
* Chie draws her demon-killing sword. "I'm right beside you."

<Lazar> 2d6
* Dicesuke reaches into his gut, removes his spleen, and rolls for Lazar ( 
2dSpleen ) and gets 2, "CRITICAL SPLEENING! FATALITY!" He promptly collapses in 
a bloody heap and dies.
<Brett> [Whoever made it realizes that the mass climbing up the citadel are 
actually soldiers.  Lazar sees that they're all hawt chicks.]
<SpiritRei> (CHIXXORZ!)
* Lazar may notice, but he's not exactly in a communicative mood. He's just 
running toward the citidel... the glowing of his runes is getting even brighter 
as he runs.
<Chie> Looks like their own army's on the move.
* Chomei runs more! "I think Dracula's shown up."
<Chie> That would explain Laz going insane.
<Chomei> More than explain it.
* Chie puts on an extra burst of speed.
<Chie> (Now I miss my speed scroll. ;_;)
* Maria leaps off of Lazar's shoulder and goes bounding ahead of the others at 
full speed.
* Lazar keeps on lumbering on towards the citidel. The glowing of his runes is 
visible even to those of you behind him.
* Chomei runs some more!
* Asanjya follows!
<Brett> [You approach the citadel, only to come face to face with an army, who 
all jab pointy things at you. "Halt!"]
* Chie halts. "Hey, we're here to help you!"
* Chomei stops too.
<Lazar> ( Pointy things! HA! )
* Maria takes the rooftop express, avoiding the army altogether.
* Lazar ain't stopping for no army! CHARGE!
<Chomei> (Hahaha!)
<SpiritRei> (Bowling for Et'Ada!)
<Maria> ( Quick, someone be diplomatic and make them realise they don't want to 
be in Lazar's way! c.c )
<Chomei> Clear the way!
<Brett> [Maria does not avoid the army. It seems they are also using the 
rooftops themselves.]
* Chie has *a* pointy thing, but she's outnumbered. She also doesn't have 
Maria's skills or Lazar's sheer mass.
* Asanjya sighs. "Look, people, move!
<Chie> I think you wanna get out of his way!
<Lazar> ( Hopefully, they'll see the gigantic stone guy running at them and 
clear a path. )
<Maria> ( Hopefully. )
<Brett> [The guards clear when they see Lazar is not going to stop, but up ahead 
a few start chanting.
* Lazar keeps moving. No chanting is gonna stop him. He's completely lost it. 
He's not even showing any signs that he *notices* the army.
* Maria hops down next to the chanting ones. "Hi! We're here to help. Please let 
the stone guy through, he's got a grudge against the vampires."
<Brett> ( Maria, body roll! )
<Maria> ( Any skills come into play? )
<Brett> ( And Lazar, too. )
<Brett> ( Mmm... Acrobatics (tumbling) )
<Maria> 2d6-3
* Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (2d6-3) and gets 4.
<Lazar> 2d6+2
* Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6+2) and gets 11.
<Brett> [Lazar runs smack into an invisible wall and falls over backwards.  
Maria is almost caught in a cage, but she dives out of the way. None the less, 
she finds herself quickly surrounded by pointy objects.]
<Maria> Hello? Aren't you listening? We're on your side?
* Chie screams. "I fucking give up! You people *deserve* Dracula!"
* Chomei motions and Rownal vanishes. "Yeah, really. Screw you all."
* Lazar gets back up, and starts pounding on the wall, once again screaming in 
Hungarian. The runes on his head are glowing so brightly that it hurts to look 
directly at them.
* Maria waits for a response!
<Brett> [The wall is reinforced by more chanters as a man (a handsome black-
haired bishonen) walks forwards and points a finger. "Silence, foreigners! You 
don't belong here!"
* Chomei flicks him off.
<Chie> Yeah, you've made it more than evident.  We'll be going now.
<SpiritRei> (I'd say it's universal, but they don't understand it in Germany.)
<Brett> [One of the soldiers yells, "Hey... This all happened when they arrived! 
They're in league with the enemy!"]
<Chie> Oh, like *hell* we are!
* Lazar keeps on pounding away at the wall, switching between Hungarain and 
Hebrew at random intervals.
<Chie> Guys, let's *go*.
<Chomei> I'm already gone.
* Chomei starts walking away.
<Maria> ...my people are idiots. 
* Chie heads off after him.
* Chie calls over her shoulder. "Just remember we offered to help."
<Brett> [Chomei finds pointy things in his way.]
<Brett> "You're not going anywhere, animals. Except maybe the dungeons."
* Maria points at Lazar. "He was made to kill these vampires! MADE for it! You 
are keeping him from that!"
<Chomei> Oh, wow.  Like I give a damn.
* Chie glares at the guard. "Your goddess sent us on a mission. *She* trusts 
us."
<Chomei> You tell us to leave, we'll leave.  I'm sick as hell of this shit.
<Brett> "Lies."
<SpiritRei> (LIES AND TRICKERY!)
<Chomei> (LIES AND TRICKERY!)
* Chie eyes the guard. C'mon, divine power, now would be a great time to show 
up...
<Chomei> Oh, so you DIDN'T tell us to leave?
<Sleepmancer> ( Trickery and LIES! )
<Brett> [Several of the constructs from earlier are also now beginning to 
approach the cathedral.]
<Chomei> And you'd like us to stay and have some food?  Wow, that's so nice of 
you.
* Chomei 's voice is DRIPPING with sarcasm.
<Brett> One of the males eyebrow twitches.  He raises a hand in the air. "I'm 
going to eradicate the meat here and now." He's generally met with cheers.
* Lazar isn't letting up with the pounding on the barrier. He's sure not getting 
discouraged by the fact that it isn't working at all.
* Chomei summons Rownal. "Fine. You want to go with me? I'll go. You and me."
* Chie silently prays, even if the expression on her face makes her look like 
she wants to stab something any minute now.
* Chomei puts Rei down.
* Chie blinks. "Chomei, wait!"
* Maria sighs. "And while you're all sitting here being jerks, I'm going to go 
save your sorry, worthless lives. 'Bye."
<Chomei> What?
<Chie> Don't.  It's not worth it.
<Chomei> Like HELL it isn't?
* Maria leaps high out of the circle, avoiding pointy things pointed her way.
<Chie> Well, if you're going, I'm going with you.
<Chomei> They're gonna kill us anyways.  I might as well hand this self-centered 
jackass something of my own.
<Lazar> *poundpoundpound*
* Asanjya grasps her staff.
<Brett> [Several of the guards leap after Maria.]
<Maria> 4 2d6-4
* Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (4 2d6-4) and gets 2 2 2 6.
<Lazar> *poundPOUNDpound*
<Chie> I refuse to believe that it's going to end like this.
<Brett> [Maria almost gets away, but the last soldier grabs onto her foot and 
brings her down.  On the ground, the guards point their weapons at her neck. 
"Move, and you're done for."
* Maria starts laughing.
<Chomei> Hey, guess what suckers!  We've been dead from the beginning!
<Lazar> *POUNDPOUNDPOUND*
* Maria pauses to catch her breath. "You're killing yourselves! You don't even 
know it, and you're doing it!"
* Maria laughs some more.
<Chomei> Yeah, we're all dead!  The world's going to hell and there's NOTHING 
you can do about it.
<Brett> [As the man lowers his hand to fire at Chomei, he suddenly steps back as 
a giant claymore impales itself in the ground before him with a crash.  And it's 
not green!  A female voice rings out, "Stop this at once"]
<SpiritRei> (Tuxedo Shamrock, you saved- oh wait.)
* Maria doesn't notice, hysteria being what it is.
* Chie tenses when the man moves his hand, then nearly stumbles when he stops.
* Chomei chuckles. "So, now what?"
<Brett> [Either way. Up above on one of the buildings is Ensof! And standing 
near him is a pretty woman (this being the place it is) in white clothes and a 
blue cape, that seem to ruffle on their own without wind.]
<SpiritRei> (The Magus Effect?)
<Brett> ( Yep! )
<Chomei> (Hehe.)
* Lazar is just pounding away fruitlessly at the barrier, still screaming in his 
deep, rumbling voice in alternating Hungarian and Hebrew.
<Brett> [Ensof and the woman jump down. Ensof grabs his claymore from the man 
(who's sneering) with a smirk, while the woman approaches you. "My name is 
Etal'daer, commander of our troops."]
<Chie> Great.  Could you call them off, maybe?
<Brett> "I thought I just did."
* Chomei looks at the pointed spears. "Doesn't look like they're called off."
<Brett> "Let me make myself clear. I don't trust you sub-Et'Ada one bit.  But 
Er'Kresen seems to believe in your importance.  So I will command the army to 
let you go.  You are to defeat whatever evil it is that you are supposedly 
"made" to destroy. If you touch any holy relics, we will not let you see the 
light of day again."
* Chomei rolls his eyes.
* Chie bites back a sarcastic response.
* Maria is still laughing at the stupid, stupid people.
* Lazar isn't registering any of this. He's still pounding away at the barrier. 
It's getting kinda sad, really.
<Brett> [The woman looks to the people chanting, and they stop. The barrier 
vanishes, and the soldiers make a path for you, a path that leads right to the 
cathedral.  But they look as though they don't intend to let you go anywhere 
else.]
<Chie> Fine.
<Chomei> Let's go.
* Chie stows her sword and picks up Rei.
* Chomei starts walking torwards the cathedral.
* Lazar swings through thin air, pauses, the charges headlong into the 
cathedral.
* Asanjya follows.
<Brett> [Ensof jumps, and lands near Chie. "Hey, sorry about that. I'll stay 
here and try to keep 'em calm."
* Chie starts walking. She yells. "Maria! Maria!"
<Brett> [The soldiers let Maria go, too.]
* Chie looks up at Ensof. "Hey, it's not *your* fault. But can you do us a 
favor?"
* Maria doesn't hear.
<Brett> "Sure, kid. What do ya need?"
* Chie holds Rei out to him. "Keep an eye on her. Keep her safe until she wakes 
up."
<Brett> "Gotcha."
<Chie> Thanks.
<Chie> (And yes, technically she's not sleeping, but "wakes up" is far easier 
than the full explanation. ^_~)
<Chomei> You probably just saved your people and most of the world.  Hope you 
feel better about yourself than I do.
* Chie gently gives him Rei, then walks over to where Maria is. "Maria!" She 
reaches out and grabs her shoulder.
<Maria> Ehwha? Hehehehe. Oh, did they finally figure it out? HAHAHA!
* Chie shakes her. "Snap out of it!"
<Chomei> You could just slap her.
<Chie> I'm trying to be nice, Chomei.
<Chomei> Yeah, but we don't have the time...
* Lazar is lumbering on. He ain't stopping for nothing. Not big on stealth, 
either, what with the loud footsteps and the roaring and screaming in Hungarian.
<Maria> Oh, okay, hehehehe. 
* Maria stands up, still giggling.
<Chie> I'm sorry about this.
* Chie slaps her.
<Chie> You can get me back for it later.  Chomei's right; we don't have time.
<Maria> Ow!
* Chie continues walking towards the cathedral. Her demon-killing sword is drawn 
and her expression is grim.
* Maria looks hurt.
* Maria goes bounding towards the cathedral alone.
<Lazar> ( And Asanjya follows! Really! )
* Chomei runs to the Cathedral, nodding to Chie.
<Asanjya> (She does!)
<Lazar> ( She's been awful quiet. )
<Asanjya> (She, and I, are tired.)
<Brett> [You get to the cathedral.  One of the male officers points at an 
elevator. "You can use that to reach the ceremonial room, where the evil 
presence is." He sounds plesant, but is glaring all the same.
* Chie doesn't acknowledge him, but she does head for the elevator.
* Lazar is prolly going up the stairs already.
* Lazar is actually prolly a good way up the stairs already.
* Maria is prolly near the top by now. Wonder if she's run into the vampires 
yet?
<Brett> [The soldiers are in Lazar's way. As he tries to go through them, they 
back off but mutter, "Is he a fool? He's going to *climb* 3000 stories?
<Lazar> ( 3000 stories? o_O )
* Chomei takes the ELEVATOR!
<Brett> ( 3000! XD )
* Dicesuke throws the bones for Brett (( 3000! XD )) and gets 18.
<Brett> ( ... )
<Chomei> (......)
<Brett> ( 3000 - 18. )
<Brett> ( There's only 2982 stories. )
<Brett> ( They just say 3000 for convenience. )
<Chie> (Nice use of the accidental roll, there. ^_~)

* Lazar pauses, and looks up... that seems to get through, incredibly. He 
lumbers over to the elevator, muttering in Hungarian, and gets in. It almost 
looks like the effort of *not* charging full bore is painful for him... he's 
twitching as he stands in the elevator.
* Chomei edges away from Lazar in the elevator.
* Chie stands her ground.
<Chomei> So...
* Lazar is, thankfully, keeping his volume down. His runes are glowing REALLY 
brightly now, though, illuminating the entire elevator.
<Chie> So?
<Brett> [You all make it to the top! The top is just a small room with a door.  
Oh, and there's only soldier here, and she looks like she's flying while being 
carried. Strangest thing evar. (well, no, probably not).]
<Chie> Rei!
<Soldier> Huh? I'm not Re'i.
* SpiritRei is carrying the soldier, actually. ~Hey! Oh, it's okay. She can see 
me.~
<Chie> What's going on?
* SpiritRei waves with her tail.
* Soldier looks familiar, as well. She's the same soldier that was guarding the 
gate earlier.
* Soldier peers at Rei. "How come I can't see you?"
<Soldier> That's not fair.
* Lazar stomps out of the elevator, turning to and fro, trying to pinpoint where 
the feeling is coming from.
<SpiritRei> ~Some sorta crazy shit.  I hear you guys are going to save the city, 
only Rau'Yei here didn't open the door.  And nobody can see me but Chie over 
there, 'cause she sees dead people, only I'm just a spirit and not dead.  It's 
okay, I'm used to it.~
<Brett> [It's coming from behind the door!]
* Maria comes in through a window.
<Chie> There's not much of a door left, thanks to Laz.  And, really, we don't 
have much of a choice about saving the city.
<Chie> It's save them or they kill us.
<Chomei> Yeah.  So let's just do it.
* SpiritRei sets Rau'Yei gently on the ground. ~You know you'd do it anyway.~
* Lazar growls, then roars, and runs shoulder-first at the door.
<Soldier> Jeez, you could just open it.
* Chie smiles briefly, then grips her sword tightly and watches Laz go.
<Brett> [The door splinters before Lazar's might.]
<Brett> [Beyond the door is a Session End]
