[You run through the door. There's a marble corridor behind it, going a fair distance. It's rather nice compared to the last area, and better lit.] If Death is that lame, I'll have no problems living for my expected span. That was... very, very ridiculous. * Asanjya starts walking down the corridor. "Agreed." One wonders how anyone manages to actually die. * Lazar pauses. "Did calm me down, though. Too silly to be angry." *walks ahead of Asanjya* "Maybe he fill-in Death?" Possibly. Demons are not often forthcoming about the transition period between living and dying. * Lazar keeps walking, keeping an eye out for nasties, candelabras, or oddly- colored bricks. [Lazar sees a faded section of wall.] * Lazar kicks it. That might not be a good idea. Is good luck. [It breaks open, revealing a slab of rock with a "II" on it.] * Lazar picks it up. "Odd..." *shrugs* "Can throw it at something." *keeps walking* * Asanjya would sweatdrop if she knew how. "I fail to understand, but whatever." Is very old Transylvanian tradition. Is probably better no ask. *Resumes walking* Sadly the shard is not likely to be as easy to find. [The corridor ends abruptly with three doors, one on each wall. The center one has a big glowing padlock on it.] ... I no expert, but I guessing that big glowing lock no going be broken by hitting it. * Asanjya peers at the lock. [It's glowing.] * Asanjya backs up. "Left or right." Left. Everyone go right. In a castle supposedly formed of chaos, that may not mean much. But I am a personal fan of the left hand path, so. * Lazar walks up to the left hand door, and attempts to open it! The old fashioned way. [Behind the left door is a staircase going up.] * Lazar starts climbing. * Asanjya follows. [The staircase goes up and up! And then stops in front of a door.] This may become monotonous quickly. * Lazar waits for Asanjya to catch up, if necessary, and opens the door. "No going be complaining about that soon, I think." * Asanjya is right behind Lazar. [Behind the door is a really, really large room, filled with bookshelves. And books! It's one hell of a library.] * Lazar pokes his head in. "Hello? Piece of Dracula power?" [A book flings itself at Lazar.] * Lazar swats at the book with his free hand. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-3) and gets 7. [Lazar destroys the book.] ... attacked by book. That new one. * Lazar eyes the room. "I guessing that no holder of power of Dracula." Likely not. [It's a large room, and you can't see everything in it with all the book shelves in the way.] They were shards, if I remember correctly. Let's look further. * Asanjya moves into the room and begins looking around., * Lazar moves with Asanjya, sword raised, looking for any more Attack Books. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6) and gets 4. [The floor creaks as Lazar walks, and he takes that as a warning sign to stop.] * Lazar does so. That no sound good. Weak floor, or ... * Lazar takes a step or two back, then tests the floor ahead of him tentatively in a few places, seeing if the entire floor is weak, or it's just one spot. [Seems to be just that one spot, luckily.] * Asanjya keeps her eyes peeled for things. * Lazar kneels down next to said spot and tries to punch through it, for marking purposes if nothing else. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6) and gets 7. [Lazar punches through the floor.] 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6) and gets 6. * Asanjya halts in her step. "Curious." * Asanjya walks towards a shelf, and eyes a book closely. [The book does not try to eat Asanjya. [But the one next to it does. Melee defense Asanjya!] * Lazar steps back, and walks towards Asanjya tentatively... until he sees the book attack Asanjya, at which point he charges and tries to swat it. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6) and gets 8. (Actually... melee defense skill is with or against?) (Enh, any way you slice it I miss the roll. SO.) [Asanjya gets bitten by a cook book.] Ow! Gods burn you, vile thing! * Lazar swats at the cookbook with his free hand! 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-3) and gets 3. [Lazar swats it into oblivion.] ... hope those no were-books. *pauses* So what was interesting? * Asanjya points at a book labeled "Necronomicon". I would wager that's an original copy, too. Might be useful to have along. Would you grab it? * Lazar takes the book! ( And forgets to say "Klattu Verattu Niktu". =P ) Thank you. Shall we move on? * Lazar hands the book to Asanjya, and moves on, eye out for more creaky floors, angry books, or candelabras. * Asanjya tucks it away in her cloak. * Asanjya also follows. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6) and gets 5. [The floor creaks uncomfortably as you progress.] [But you finally get to the end of the library, where there's a door.] Let's hurry. The creaking lets us be tracked. * Lazar opens the door. "And maybe cause me fall to doom." 2d6+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6+2) and gets 11. [Funny Lazar should mention falling, because there's no floor on the other side of the room. Unprepared, he loses his balance and falls about eight feet. His fall is broken by the bodies. Yep, bodies. The whole room is filled with them.] * Asanjya looks around. "... this is more like it." Are you okay, Lazar? ... I in room full of dead bodies. Other than that, I okay. * Lazar steadies himself, and looks around. Anything other than corpses? I don't know. It's rather homey. * Asanjya peers around as well. [Hard to tell. They're piled up in the corners more than the rest of the room, so they could be obscuring something.] ... do we dig? * Lazar scowls. "Probably should... stay there. If there anything nasty, you have nice spot to fire away with little danger." * Asanjya nods and looks. * Lazar heads for the nearest corner and starts to, as respectfully as he can, move the bodies. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6) and gets 8. [Lazar manages to keep his balance as the bodies rumble and pour towards the center of the room to fill a gap that's left when a large, LARGE number of them suddenly rise into the air, compact in a sphere.] ( Gimme init rolls ^^ ) d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (d6+7) and gets 9. d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (d6+6) and gets 7. ... okay, this just disgusting. [Lazar, Asanjya, Bodies.] [Lazar's turn!] * Lazar gets between the ball and Asanjya, and slashes at it with his sword. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-2) and gets 7. ( You get a -4 bonus to hit, by the way. It's freakin' huge. ) [Some of the bodies fall off as Lazar strikes!... And they start to get up.] [Asanjya's turn!] * Asanjya busts out with a Burning Fear! 2d6-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6-6) and gets -1. [A great deal of the bodies fall off. They get up and are burning.] Lazar! Get the bodies, I'll deal with the clump! [The creature itself doesn't do anything, but the bodies go after Lazar. Def (grabs) Lazar!] 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-1) and gets 2. [Lazar manages to stay out of reach of the bodies for now. His turn] * Lazar starts hacking at the bodies trying to overwhelm him. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-2) and gets 8. [Lazar hacks into one of the bodies, but he's unable to go completely through it. Which doesn't help much, given how many bodies there are.] [Asanjya's turn!] * Asanjya lets loose another Burning Fear. 2d6-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6-6) and gets -3. [Asanjya burns off more of the bodies.] [The big sphere still does nothing, but again the bodies grab at Lazar. He needs to defend!] 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-1) and gets 7. [A number of the bodies latch onto Lazar and start clawing at him. They don't do squat to harm him, but they do get in his way. +2 to all rolls for the time being.] [Lazar's turn!] * Lazar grabs at one of the bodies clinging to him, and tries to chuck it at one of the approaching bodes. 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-1) and gets 10. [Lazar fails to get the body off himself.] [Asanjya!] * Asanjya frowns, looks down to the melee below, and launches a Frozen Lance into the largest mass of bodies away from Lazar. They no can hurt me! Save energy... *pauses* ... this just going to take few minutes. [Asanjya takes out a great deal of the bodies.] [The sphere does nothing, although the bodies on Lazar still futily try to kill him.] [Lazar's turn!] * Lazar growls, rears his hands up, and brings them down on the mass of bodies piling on him. (Golem Rage) 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-1) and gets 4. [Lazar destroys the remaining bodys on him.] [Asanjya's turn!] * Asanjya drops another Burning Fear on the orb. 2d6-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6-6) and gets -4, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "o/~I love you... you love me... o/~" (well.) [Fwoosh! Asanjya burns a huge chunk of the bodies off. In fact, the orb splits in half, one half falling to the ground. underneath all the bodies is a brain-like thing with strange tentacles. It points one at Asanjya, firing an honest to god laser at her. Look out Asanjya!] 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6) and gets 6. [Asanjya's arm gets grazed. It burns like fire, leaving her skin black.] [Lazar's turn!] ( Only a -2 to hit the brain part. It's less huge ) Augh! * Lazar grabs his sword and charges at the brain thing with an overhand slash. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-4) and gets 5. [Lazar hacks into it. It squeals in pain. Somehow. I mean, it doesn't have a mouth, but...] [Asanjya's turn!] * Asanjya sets her jaw and lets another Burning Fear fly. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6-4) and gets 6. [The thing is burned, and catches fire. It falls to the ground squealing, before it sputters and (probably) dies.] Assure the kill, Lazar! * Lazar stabs at it, just to be sure. [It bursts open, and some weird red dust floats out. It congeals above the thing, and forms a strange red stone with a flame.] I would wager heavily that is what we are seeking. And I do not wager. Do I break it or take it? Take it. We can always destroy it later. * Lazar shrugs, and takes it. Anything else of interest in the room, aside from bodies and dead brain thing? [Bodies. Oh, and a door on the far side; some of the bodies moved during the fight and revealed it.] * Asanjya hops down into the bodies and starts walking to the door. [When Lazar touches the orb, it turns to dust and flows into him. He feels strangely stronger for it.] ... Lazar? ... no worry. Think it just transfer power. * Asanjya nods. Door. Want go through? Yes. * Lazar goes over to the ledge and reaches up, to help Asanjya down. * Asanjya retroactively accepts the help. [You head towards the door. End!]
