[Same day and time, you guys are walking through the library.] [Start!] * Maria looks around at all the books! "Wow. We're gonna have to clean this place out after we're done with Dracula." * Lazar walks. He's still got a nice chunk missing from his chest where Maria hit him, but it's not that bad. His sword is, as per usual, resting on his shoulder. "Watch out. Books hungry." Hungry books? What, they'll try to eat me? * Asanjya wanders along, after Lazar. "I might be able to flesh out my collection." And whatever Asanjya doesn't take, I can sell! Or use. (Books bound with flesh?) * Maria walks along in her awful little maid outfit. A few try eat Asanjya earlier. ... and may be problem, since Dracula castle often collapse after he die. Huh. I figured books would get along well with Asanjya. 2d6 It upset me. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6) and gets 4. * Lazar pauses, and steps back. "More bad floors." The weak ones? Yes. I need be careful. Bad floors? * Lazar moves forward at a far slower pace, testing for creaking before shifting his weight forward. "Yes. Weak floors. No hold golem weight." Oh. That'd be a problem. *carefullumbers* * Maria stops and takes off her shoes. Her footfalls are now silent, rather than going 'click click click' on the floor. * Asanjya follows, carefully looking around. * Maria takes up a position in front of Lazar, walking along and listening for the floor to creak. * Lazar eyes Maria. "No think you going make floors creak much, little one. But appreciate thought." * Maria shrugs. "It's worth a shot." [You traverse the library back to the stairs that lead to the corridor.] So, Asanjya, Laz. What are good ways to kill vampires? I only know the rather mundane ways. Dracula need be hit in head. For other vampyres... stake to heart, cut off head. Belmont say that Dracula like to... what word... teleport around, throw balls of fire. And he can change to other forms. Teleport could be a problem. But that's it? Hit his head? I can do that. No sweat. Hit elsewhere do okay, but apparently hit head do best. Works for me. * Maria grins. [You're back in the corridor! That door with the glowing padlock is still there, as well as the second door opposite the one you're coming from. * Asanjya nods. ... now that think about it, I going to take guess and say that Dracula behind door with magic lock. * Maria walks over and looks at the glowing padlock. [It's a very simple lock. But it's glowing.] Probably a good guess. No bother, Maria. We no want go through now anyway. Oh, magic. Alright. Door on right, correct? Yes. And there isn't much I can do about a lock now, anyway. Unless... * Maria pats herself down. Let it go. * Asanjya opens the damn other door, already. >_> Damn. * Lazar heads through! * Maria follows Lazar! * Asanjya follows Lazar. [Behind the door is a very small corridor that turns 90 degrees to the left.] [Around the bend is another door; thick and wooden with iron bars and, um.... bloodstains.] This must be the guest room. *nod* This one, Maria, we get into. * Lazar frowns. "Hate to say obvious... but probably something hungry in room." I think we can handle something hungry. Although you're looking a little beat up, Laz. What happened to you? ( And did any of us think to pick up that heart that Asanjya discarded in the other hallway before Maria joined up? ) (I didn't.) ( Hearts only last for 2-3 seconds before disappearing! XD ) ( ;_; ) ( We'll just have to find some more, then. ) * Lazar eyes his moderately chunked torso, then looks up at Maria. "Got hit. No big deal." Okay. We ready? Anytime. * Maria takes hold of one of the door handles. * Lazar gets near the door and leans against the wall, leaving room for Maria but making sure he's in position to step in once it opens. * Maria opens the door! * Maria gets out of the way, too! * Asanjya is already back and out of the way. ( /me waits to see if the door opens! ) [It does! The door opens into a long, wide stone room. On the sides of the walls, periodically, are jail cells. In the room itself are all sorts of torture devices, some with people- or other things- on them.] ... hell. Impressive. ...what the hell is this? A torture chamber, obviously. * Lazar checks on the people/things to see if anyone's alive. "Stay back. May be traps or something..." ...torture? I'd recommend not releasing anything. If they're real, the castle should disappear around them, right? No disappear. Crumble and collapse. * Maria glances at the people on the devices and decides that's an adeqate answer to her question. Hm. * Lazar continues with his checking. I'd rather not risk them being constructs either way. Constructs? ( Awareness check, Laz ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6) and gets 9. Dracula has abysmal fashion sense. Manufacturing false prisoners for aesthetics in a normally empty chamber would seem to be within his mileiu. I dunno. Why would he settle for fakes when he could get the real thing? [Lazar steps on a particular stone, and it sinks into the ground. A bunch of spears fly out of the wall and break on his body.] ... huh. That no nice. * Lazar brushes himself off. He... curses. [As for the bodies... It's hard to tell if they were ever real or not, given what's been done to them.] ( So nothing's alive? ) ( Not anymore ^^ ) ... nothing still alive. Waste of time. * Maria shivers. * Asanjya looks around coldly. "Then it's a matter of semantics. Let's move on." * Asanjya holds her hand to her ear. ~Hello?~ ~Hm. Good info. Thanks.~ * Asanjya takes her hand down. "The water is apparently burning." She frowns. "And there are slimes." How much water? She didn't say. * Maria frowns. ( Is there another path? ) ( Is this room a dead end? ) [The room is more like a big corridor, really. It goes on.] * Lazar keeps going, then. "Okay, so no use water fountains in Dracula castle. That pretty obvious." I somehow doubt it was voluntary. * Maria stays behind Lazar. The spears seem to bother him less than they would her, so. ( Hearing checks! ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6) and gets 3. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6) and gets 8. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (2d6-2) and gets 4. [Lazar and Maria hear the bladed pendulum coming at you from above. They get a -2 bonus to defend! Everyone roll defense rolls] (Melee?) ( Yes ) 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6-1) and gets 5. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-4) and gets 8, a CRITICAL FAILURE!!! "You always hurt the ones you love. I love you very much." ( Can I pull Asanjya out of the way with me? ) ( Mmm... Defense at a +3 to do that Maria ) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (2d6-3) and gets 6. [The pendulum smacks right into Lazar. He stops it with his body but is bowled over backwards into the girls as Maria tries to push Asanjya out of the way.] * Maria winces. Ow. Oof! ... ow. Everybody okay? Relatively. * Lazar gets up off the girls, if necessary. "I really need better reflexes..." So do I, apparently. * Asanjya lies there for a moment. "Perhaps under different circumstances that would have been pleasurable. But let's avoid the pendulum, next time." * Lazar eyes his chest. Nice sized new dent there. "Better me than rest of you." Laz? How're you holding up after that? I okay. No full strength, but no too bad either. That's good. * Maria looks around. * Lazar does as well. Any candelabras? ( I don't suppose there's many candle sticks in here? ) [No candelabras here, although there is a fire pit that's roasting someone's head nearby.] ( Awareness checks! ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6) and gets 3. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (2d6-2) and gets 2. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6) and gets 7. [Lazar and Maria spot a discolored portion of wall.] ... step back. * Asanjya steps back! * Lazar kicks the wall! [The wall crumbles. Behind it is a drumstick.] I don't really think you need to... nevermind. * Maria blinks. "Is that food?" * Lazar grabs the drumstick. "Stories talk of heroes finding food to keep strength up in castle..." [It looks like food!] [It smells like food!] * Lazar shrugs, and takes a bite. ...why would Dracula leave food in his castle if it'd help the people here to kill him? [Lazar fails!] * Lazar pauses. "... I have no teeth. Damn." Asanjya, you injured. Eat. *holds out the drumstick* Give it to Asanjya, I guess. I'm not hungry. * Asanjya takes it and sniffs it warily. [It smells like chicken.] * Asanjya takes a nibble. ( CHIKEN. ) [It tastes like chicken and stone. Eww... But Asanjya does feel a little better eating it.] Well? ... it could use either more salt or less. I cannot actually tell. But I do feel better. * Asanjya offers it to Maria. Ha! Stories right. For once. * Maria shrugs and takes a bite. [Maria feels better too!] Let's move on. Alright. * Asanjya finishes off the MEET. [Asanjya eats chicken 'n stone. She feels better, though still injured.] Right. Let's go. Okay. * Lazar keeps going, glancing upwards every so often to check for pendulums, anvils, and the like. * Maria gets up and heads along, looking carefully for traps. * Asanjya follows. [You're fortunate to avoid any more traps as you reach the end of the room. There's a door here.] * Maria grabs the handle of the door, then stands to one side, ready to open the door whenever Lazar's ready. *gets in position* Ready. * Asanjya nods. * Maria opens the door! [Behind the door is a dark, dark room. But the light through the door shows a foreign woman with long, curly brown hair, emerald green eyes, a low- cut, flamboyant dress a red shawl and earrings that are huge, gold rings. She looks fairly familiar to most of you. And *very* familiar to Lazar. She squints at the light and, when her eyes focus, starts crying.] .... excuse me? * Maria blinks. "Are you not gonna eat us?" ... Tatyana? "I... I've been trapped here so long. Did you come to save me? I... Lazar? Is that you?" * Maria blinks. "Laz, you know her?" * Lazar palms his amulet, and his illusion comes active again. "Yes... but you dead. I bury you." Intriguing. "Oh... Lazar... If only you knew..." * Maria frowns. Lazar, why would Dracula take prisoners? * Asanjya frowns too. "I can't sense magic... I don't know, Lazar. Instinct tells me this is fishy." * Lazar starts to take a step forward, then pauses, and shifts slightly to keep himself between Tatyana and the girls. "Tell." How can you be alive? ( Gimme sight checks. ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6) and gets 9. ( I need the Sword of Omens. Then I'd have Sight Beyond Sight. ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6) and gets 9. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (2d6-2) and gets 1. [Maria sees something moving at the corners of the room. Meanwhile, Tatyana steps forward. "But... I'm not alive."] ( Gimme init rolls. ) d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (d6+6) and gets 7. See, Lazar! d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (d6+7) and gets 11. * Lazar scowls. "Damn it... if wasn't all enough..." d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (d6+8) and gets 13. [Order is Maria, Lazar, the whatever, Asanjya.] [Maria's turn] * Lazar scowls deeper as the runes on his forehead start glowing. "You... you involved in attack on village? How?!" [A deep voice comes from behind Tatyana. "Hmm hmm... Figured it out, have you? It wasn't hard. I ate many of them in their sleep."] * Maria flips over Tatyana and attacks the thing that's behind her, her fist wreathed in black flames. 2d6-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (2d6-5) and gets 3. [Maria lights up the area behind Tatyana and illuminates the monster: It looks like Jabba the Hutt with three large tentacles, one of which is squirming around in Tatyana's back. It's apparently much too sluggish to dodge Maria's attack, but it's sturdy enough that it can bear it, too.] [Lazar's turn] * Lazar starts growling, softly at first, and then growing in in volume until it's nearly deafening and he explodes in white light... (Eleventh Commandment) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-3) and gets 5. [The creature shrieks as the white light eradicates its tentacles and leaves some large burns on its body. "You'll pay for that!" It leaves Tatyana's body untouched.] * Maria grins. "That's so cool, Laz." [The creature howls. Everyone give me a soul roll, -1 bonus!] It wrath of God. *GLARES at the thing* And you have no idea what meaning of 'pay' is. 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-1) and gets 8. (God wants Lazar to take a dirtnap.) ( Yeah, no... what the hey. DR. ) 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (2d6-1) and gets 7. 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-1) and gets 7. 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6-1) and gets 4. [Lazar and Maria feel the creature's pain! Or at least they feel their own pain as they suddenly get extremely painful head-clutchingly strong headaches.] [Asanjya's turn!] Weakling. * Asanjya pulls back her arm, then tosses out a Burning Fear at the thing. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Asanjya (2d6-2) and gets 4. * Maria grits her teeth and clutches her head. * Lazar grips his head with his free hand, his gaze never leaving the monster. [NOW the thing is set alight.] [Maria's turn!] * Maria keeps clutching her head, hops up on one foot, wreathes the other in magical flames, and kicks the thing hard! 2d6-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (2d6-5) and gets -3, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "o/~I love you... you love me... o/~" [Maria's foot goes through its eye.] [Lazar's turn] * Maria pulls her foot out and tries not to retch. Nice shot, Maria. * Lazar charges at the thing as he brings his free hand over to the hilt of his sword, and brings said sword down at the monster. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lazar (2d6-3) and gets 2. [Lazar cleaves it in two.] [A familiar red orb forms from the remains.] Maria, I believe this one is yours. This what? Oh, right. * Maria touches the orb. * Lazar stands staring at where the corpse was for a moment before turning and walking over to Tatyana. His runes are still glowing, but the light's fading. [Maria absorbs the orb!] * Asanjya glances over to Lazar. * Maria turns and watches Lazar. While trying to shake eyegoo off her foot. [Tatyana is very much dead. Although it looks like the creature has preserved her body well, or at least the outside. Her back has a gaping hole in it, and apparently all of her bones have been removed.] * Lazar stares at the body for a very long minute, then grips his pendant, drops his illusion, and lumbers slowly out of the room without a word. Laz? * Asanjya watches Lazar go, then looks at Maria. She shakes her head, and follows Laz. * Maria frowns, looks at the corpse, then follows out after the others. Wait! * Maria goes back in. "There's another door in here." Oh. Let's investigate, then. * Lazar stops, comes back in, lumbers slowly to the door Maria is pointing to, and tries to put his fist through it. [Lazar breaks the door!] ....whoa, Laz. The door still may have worked. Well, this works too, I guess. * Lazar doesn't respond, if he even heard Asanjya, as he continues his lumbering through the door. [Lazar lumbers through the door.] [The way is clear now. The passage beckons as though inviting tired people to go to sleep.] * Asanjya follows through. * Maria follows through the door! [You head through the door! The next area seems to be a tower, as it just goes up and up. There are gears and mechanisms everywhere and you get the impression that you're in a giant clock. Must be the clock tower.] [Session End!]
