with what looks like a blue sky with little flecks of light moving through it. 
You're standing on a translucent white platform.  There's an upward spiral that
leads God knows where.]
<Brett> [Rei's all shiny.  And there's some tall orange-ish Cobra Commander like
things here, but they're leaking grey stuff.  And hiiiiigh above on the spiral
are the villians.  But they're already on their way somewhere.]
<Brett> [Session Start!]
<Maria> ( I thought we'd gone up? )
<Brett> ( Nope )
* Rei points up. "Think they're dead, too?"
* Asanjya looks around. "At least Limbo is pleasant."
* Chie shakes her head. "No."
<Maria> Looks like it.
<Rei> Hey!  I am not a virtu- oh, I guess I pretty much am a virtuous pagan.

<Maria> What's that mean?
<Brett> [The thing Rei was talking to disintigrates, as does the other one.  A
green glowing sphere is left in their wakes.]
* Chie looks up at the villains. "Guys, don't you think we should be going after
them?"
<Rei> It means I mostly did good things but I probably don't believe in the
right God according to Dante's theology but he was a poet not really a priest or
anything so why are they disappearing like that?
* Lazar starts up the stairs. "I no have any idea what going on, but it no can
be good."

* Chie walks over to get a better look.

<Brett> [When Asanjya approaches the sphere, it shoots itself into her.]
<Rei> Okay, really, if I'm DEAD, how come all these live people are around?  Not
that I don't like live people around, but it's kinda silly, because death is
supposed to be one of those- GAH.
<Asanjya> .... whaaa!
* Chie blinks. "Asanjya! You okay?"
<Asanjya> ... oh. That's actually rather pleasant.
<Rei> It's GREEN and GLOWY.
<Rei> That's the anti-pleasant!
<Brett> [Asanjya looks a lot better, too.]
<Asanjya> I feel terrific, though.
<Rei> ... How about minty?
* Chie watches Asanjya to make sure she doesn't... okay, "die" is probably the
wrong thing to say.
* Asanjya licks her lips.
* Lazar looks back. "It like meat in castle, but glowy."
<Asanjya> No. Rather more like a chive.
<Brett> ( And it doesn't taste rancid :P )
<Rei> Well, THAT's a gip.
* Maria blinks.
<Rei> Anyway!
<Lazar> ... well? Someone else what injured use, and let's go!
* Chie eyes Asanjya. "Okay..."
<Rei> We're good.
<Rei> They're bad.
<Rei> They killed me before.
<Brett> ( And you guys ARE still injured from before ^^ )
<Rei> That makes them pretty bad.
<Rei> So we should stop them!
* Chie walks over to the other sphere.
<Rei> From... uh... whatever it is they're doing.  Chie?
<Chie> On my way!  I owe them a *lot*.
<Chie> Yeah?
<Brett> [Chie gets a similar effect: Sphere shoots into her.]
<Brett> [She looks better too.]
* Chomei blinks. "Well."
* Lazar continues up the stairs, motioning for the others to follow.
* Chie sighs. "Much better. Okay. Ass-kicking time!"
* Rei just zips ahead. She's dead! What are they going to do, kill her?
* Asanjya follows, near the rear. She's looking around with a great deal of
distaste.
* Maria starts up the stairs!
<Brett> ( They could obliterate your soul maybe ^_- )
* Chie runs up the stairs!
<Brett> [They're not really stairs so you can't run up them! Hah!]
* Lazar lumbers up them, then.
<Brett> [The spiral is long.  It takes quite a while to get up there.]
* Chie hurries up the spiral, then. ;p
* Maria is trying hard not to get ahead of the others.
* Chomei goes up the spiral!
<Chie> Maybe I'll finally get some answers...
<Brett> [But when you get to the top, you reach... A dead end? Actually, another
platform appears when you get closer.  There's another green orb here, too.]
* Lazar looks back. "Anyone else need?"
* Chomei takes it.
<Asanjya> You know... I had rather hoped to keep death at a greater length. The
more involved I've become with you people, the closer I end up getting to it.
<Chie> Hey, I'm used to it.
<Brett> [Chomei is healed!ed]
<Asanjya> (FORTY-TWO?)
<Chomei> (FORTY TWO!)
* Lazar continues on once Chomei finishes, spear at the ready.
<Maria> (FORTY-TWO!)
<Asanjya> I'm not.
<Brett> [When Lazar steps onto the platform, another platform appears beyond
it.]
<Maria> Sorry, Asanjya.
* Chomei follows after Lazar, bow at the ready.
<Asanjya> It's ... unnerving. That's all.
* Chie nods. "That I can understand."
<Rei> At least it hasn't happened to you yet!
<Asanjya> We'd be in a far different place if it had.
<Rei> Nah, I think everyone stops here.  Like, uh, a bus sto.
<Rei> (+p)
<Rei> The Death Stop!
<Chomei> ...
<Chomei> Right.
<Rei> Hop onto the death traaaaain.  Soul trains!
<Lazar> I no did. But I no die like usual.
<Rei> I think I was supposed to go somewhere but I don't remember where.
* Chie ponders. "Y'know, for all that I'm used to having dead people around, I
never really thought about them going somewhere before they cameback."
<Chie> (came back)
<Asanjya> I'm fairly certain I don't need to wind up at a sorting location. My
destination's a known quantity.
<Chomei> You're that lucky, huh.
<Asanjya> No. I consider a guaranteed Hell-ticket rather unlucky, myself.
<Rei> Well, uh, I didn't really finish everything I wanted to, but that's kind
of normal, right?
<Maria> Wait, sorting?
<Asanjya> The price one pays for power. I knew that.
* Chie smiles sadly at Rei. "Yeah."
<Maria> But we're not really dead, right?
* Rei rubs at the back of her head. She's shiny!
* Lazar glances back at Asanjya. "Could always become Jewish."
<Brett> [Beyond that platform is another!  This one has walls on one end, and a
door.  Although they're semi-transparent, you can't see anything beyond them. 
And you can't get through the door either.  'Cause Virgil is standing in front
of it.]
<Asanjya> Little too late. Dabbling with demons kind of locks you into the
Judeochristian mythos.
* Chie exhales and then looks at Virgil. "Okay, before we get on with the
ass-kicking, we have something to deliver."
<Brett> "Your mind is tossing on the ocean."
<Chie> Yeah, yeah.  Who's got the letter?
<Rei> Uh, I thought I did.
* Rei looks for her backpack. Does she HAVE her backpack?
* Lazar holds up a hand. "Before we fight, we have letter for you."
<Chie> Crap.
<Brett> [Rei has her undead backpack, complete with UndeadBox.  It must be
undead 'cause it's shiny.
<Brett> ]
<Rei> Hey, cool!
<Maria> Wow.
<Lazar> ( It's X_XBox! )
* Chie looks over and blinks. "Niiiiiiiiiiice."
<Brett> "A letter? Prithe, continue."
<Chie> (Ha. ;p)
* Rei digs through her backpack and comes up with a shiny letter complete with
shiny envelope. "Hermes asked us to give this to you! Only it died. Well, it
should work out okay."
* Rei zips over to Virgil and hands it to him.
<Brett> [Virgil takes the letter and opens it.  He looks down, reading.]
* Chie sighs happily. "And that's finally taken care of."
<Chie> Been hangin' over my head for a while now.
* Rei waits with the patience of the dead. And the patience of the Rei. Which
averages out to not much patience.
<Chie> (*laughs*)
<Chie> (Chie can vouch that the dead are often not very patient.)
* Maria cracks her knuckles.
<Chomei> Important to get it out of the way before we finish things.
<Brett> "...What trechery is..."
* Rei blinks. "What?"
<Chie> Huh?
* Maria shrugs. "Dunno. Didn't come from us."
<Chie> Yeah, we're just the messengers.

<Brett> [Virgil throws the letter on the ground. "What the fuck is this? I'm
fired? A two bit hack?!  They can't do this to me!" He glares at the letter, and
it goes up in flames.  "Grr. I'm calling my lawyer."  A portal opens up, and he
steps through, closing it as he goes.]
* Asanjya blinks. "Who was that?"
<Rei> ... Uh.
* Chie blinks, then blinks again, then cracks up.
* Maria blinks.
<Rei> Did he just get kicked out of some Greek play or something?
<Maria> I dunno. Didn't he hang out with whatsisface?
<Rei> Mr. E?  Yeah.
<Rei> But what's that gotta do with Hermes?
<Chie> And he's who we're chasing, so let's go!

* Chomei snerks.
<Rei> Oh, yeah!

<Brett> [The door opens! ... Into a hallway made of, um... flesh, apparently.
It's squishy and will probably bleed if you cut it.  Ewww.  It goes straight for
some time, then turns right.]
* Chie looks at Asanjya. "It's a long story."
* Lazar keeps walking.
<Asanjya> Summarize.
<Chie> Okay.  We've been fighting this gang on and off for a while.  Mr. E's
their leader, and he tried to kill me once 'cause of my mysterious unknown
powers.
<Chie> Virgil's one of them, and quoted Shakespeare a lot and had magic. 
Obviously, he's gone now.
<Chie> There's a guy with twin katanas and another girl.
<Asanjya> And we're chasing him in the afterworld why?
<Chie> Because.

<Lazar> Thus, we hit repeatedly in head and shoulders.

* Asanjya narrows her eyes. "This makes him unpleasant, but do we have reason to
believe he can undeadify you?"

<Brett> [At the top it turns into a corridor again.  There's another green orb
here.]
<Chie> No, but we *do* have reason to believe he could do a lot worse.
<Rei> Oh, I'm gonna be undeadified?
<Chie> I hope.
<Asanjya> I was under the impression that was why we followed you, yes.
<Lazar> Yes, because otherwise you mom never leave us alone.
<Rei> ... Okay.  I guess I can hold off with the last words until it's too late,
then!
<Rei> Uh, which mom?
<Asanjya> As much as companionship is pleasurable, I'd rather not spend a
daytrip in death's realm without the payoff being rather memorable.
* Chie looks at Rei and sighs.
<Lazar> Vampyre mom. But probably regular mom no be happy either.
<Rei> Aww!
* Rei hugs Asanjya!
* Lazar looks around. "Maria? You need orb?"
<Maria> Sure.
* Maria touches the green orb.
* Asanjya looks nonplussed. "... so. To reiterate. We're merely chasing this
person who was just fired because we can, and he's been known to be evil?"
<Rei> Nah, the person who was fired disappeared.
* Asanjya looks around. "Or perhaps because this is the only path we've seen."
<Rei> Hey, do you even know how to undeadify me?
<Maria> No.
<Lazar> No, we chasing his boss who was dropping dead bodies on us.
* Chie looks at Asanjya. "Look, if you've got a better idea as to what we should
be doing, please feel free to share."
<Asanjya> Of course not. This was Chie's idea, and I'm guessing she did little
research beforehand.
* Rei stares at Asanjya.
<Rei> Are you kidding?
<Chomei> Hell no, but there's gotta be a way, right?
<Chie> This was *my* idea?
<Asanjya> Well, as I said, considering this is the only path, we're really in a
bind.
<Brett> [Maria recovers!]
* Rei goes up the path of onlyness!
<Rei> It probably leads to fleshy heaven!
<Asanjya> In that case, we ought to be looking for an exit. This is unpleasantly
like being swallowed.
* Chie looks at Asanjya, makes a somewhat strangled sound and keeps going.
<Rei> Oh, like *you've* ever been swallowed before.
<Lazar> ( ... too easy. )
* Lazar lumbers along. Having no real sense of touch makes dealing with the
squishiness much easier.
* Maria quickwalks along, trying not to think about how the fleshy ground feels
against her essentially bare feet.
* Chomei walks along and ignores squishyness as best as he can.
* Asanjya lapses into silence.
<Brett> [Actually, it opens into a wide area.  On the far wall is a black door
with an eye-shaped design on it; the pupil of the eye is blood red.  There's
also a woman there.  She's wearing a skin-tight black suit, but blue-greenish
lines flow along her limbs like waves. She's got brown hair and red eyes, and
you know her! It's Tianye.]
<Rei> (Is she shiny?)
<Chie> ...what?
<Brett> [She waves, too. "Uh.... Hi."]
<Chie> How does this keep happening?
<Rei> Tianye!  Did you die, too?
<Brett> "Huh? No?"
<Rei> You know, for a place where dead people go, there sure aren't many dead
people.

* Maria blinks.

* Chie watches Tianye expectantly.

<Brett> [Tianye looks at Chie with soulfil eyes. "Promise you won't be mad?"]
<Chie> Tianye, I'm already mad.  At a lot of things.  But I'll try not to get
*too* much angrier.  So out with it.
<Brett> [She takes a deep breath.]
<Lazar> ( I'M BATMAN! )

<Rei> Though if you're here to destroy my soul, I'll be kinda sad.

* Maria looses interest and starts glancing around idly.

* Lazar would bang his head against the wall, but it's all icky.

* Asanjya pokes at the flesh.

* Maria sighs and looks to Rei.

<Rei> Okay, look, he's probably up to something nasty, and you're just gonna
trust him and you have no proof.

* Rei points back. "They're not dead, too, and if they stay here, maybe they'll
end up being dead!"

* Lazar rubs his head. "Please move. I no want have to move you."

* Maria rolls her eyes.

friend.  I won't abandon him."  She falls into a fighting stance.  "I don't want
to fight you, but I will."]

* Lazar puts down his spear (horizontally, so as not to stab the poor floor),
and advances slowly on Tianye. "Please move."
<Asanjya> Either way is fine with me. It needs to happen soon, however. The
longer we spend here, the more nervous I gert.
<Brett> [Tianye shakes her head at Lazar.]
<Maria> ( And ignores Chomei? )
<Brett> ( Pretty much, yeah. )

about saving you.  Because you're nothing but a back-stabbing two-timing jackass
who plenty willing to throw their loyalties to whoever says what you want to
hear.  Even if you know it's not true.

no hurt you much. But we need to get through door. If that mean get through you,

* Chomei draws his bow. "I don't see any reason to go easy on a traitor."

friend.  You don't care about me at all! Kanjiro's been turned into some kind of
monster, and you stand there shrugging and rolling your eyes! You have NO idea
how I feel!"]

arrow straight down on Tianye's location.

* Lazar walks up behind Tianye and clonks her upside the head, trying to KO her
w/o caving in her skull or anything.
* Chomei floats down and tries to open the door. Fortunately the deafness only
lasts for several minutes.
* Maria walks over to the door and tries to open it!
* Rei just sorta covers her ears and tries to keep from crying.
<Brett> [Lazar whacks Tianye upside the head.  "Ka... Kanjiro..." she mutters
before she goes limp.]
* Lazar picks up his spear and wraps it around her legs, just to be safe. "Silly
girl. Warned you..."
* Asanjya keeps the Ring active. "Rei, this would all be a lot easier if I could
set people on fire. I request you reconsider."
<Rei> WHAT?
<Chomei> ...  Aw crap.
* Lazar walks over to the door and opens it.
<Brett> [Through the combined efforts of peopleses, the door opens.]
* Chie winces and covers her ears again.
* Asanjya shrugs. "Just a thought."
<Brett> ['Specially with Lazar's combined effort.
<Brett> ]
<Brett> [Beyond is a hallway made of... blood. Ew.]
<Asanjya> Well.
* Maria walks right into it.
* Lazar walks. "... I think I saw movie like this once."
<Brett> [Maria's legs get sticky.  She sinks in up to her knees.]
* Chie stands up slowly and shakily.
<Brett> [The walls and ceiling also appear to be blood.  but they're not
dripping. Freakin' weird.]
* Asanjya looks at Maria. "Chomei, can you ice this corridor?"
* Rei floats after, still covering her ears.
<Lazar> So we slip and fall on faces?
<Chomei> ...  Possibly, but that's a long corridor to do that with.
<Brett> [Rei and Chie gradually regain their hearing.]
* Maria starts to shiver, but keeps walking.
* Chie stares down the corridor. "What?"
* Lazar picks Maria up and places her on his shoulder as he walks down the
hallway.
