[Meanwhile, over here is a dark stone room with a window and two wooden doors. There's a tiger-skin rug and some rusty medieval weapons on the wall. Also a bearskin couch, across which are lying Ashley and Lukas, who wake up in each others arms. Oh my.] (Poor Herman, missing this.) (*cracks up*) (Gonna pose Togo, or should we get moving?) ( Get moving ^^ ) * Ashley blinks, then grins. "Why, Lukas. I'd no idea you cared." (Who's topping? *cough*) (I'm versatile.) ( Ashley! ) * Lukas opens his eyes, and he blinks. Shifts slightly. "Oh christ." Shifts again. "... good fucking afternoon, and thank _something_ that we're clothed." * Ashley grins wider, and his shirt dissolves into a deep v-neck with a ruffle. "Very easy for me not to be, you know." [There's a muffled voice behind one of the doors: "Ow... Jesus fuck. Where the hell am I?"] * Lukas 's eyes widen and his eyes flick to the door. "Save that for Herman, he'll enjoy it more. Now get the hell off of me." (Haaaaaahahahahahah.) (At least he didn't say, 'get the fuck off me.') * Ashley pouts for a moment, then is back in his original shirt. He rolls off Lukas and stands up. "Waste of a good bearskin, if you ask me. All we needed was a fire." * Lukas sits up and looks around, getting a glance at the tiger-skin rug. "Well, if you run into someone who wants to screw you, you've got a choice of skins." He rubs his head. "Christ, where are we? What happened?" [The muffled voice speaks again!: "Anyone out there? Volt? Herman? Anyone?"] * Ashley looks around. "Last I saw, the blasted Spriggan was chanting something. I'm assuming we were teleported." He pauses. "Maybe we ought to see who that is?" You go right ahead. * Lukas checks for his backpack and stuff. * Ashley walks over and yanks the door open. [Speaks again: "I'm locked in a fucking closet. This is embarassing." Then Ashley opens the door. Togo falls out, joined shortly by a mop and a broom.] Ow. A shame. You ought to have been on the bearskin with us. Infinitely more enjoyable, I think. * Ashley beams. * Lukas mutters. (Did I find any of my stuff?) ( Your backpack is there, but Ten's not in it. ) * Lukas picks up his backpack and pales. "Oh, fuck. Ten's gone." I'm sure he's somewhere. Likely with the others. * Togo pushes the mop and broom off of himself, and struggles up to one knee. He looks around. "Volt. Ashley. Any sign of the others?" ... must have missed the part where she's female. Really? I thought it was merely an extraordinarily pretty male. * Lukas stretches and stands if he isn't already. "Yeah, she wasn't happy about that, if my memory's not shot." He looks to Togo. "Haven't seen anyone, but wasn't feeling too bad about that, considering." * Ashley looks around the place. "Rather homey." * Togo uses the broom to push himself up to a standing position, and wobbles a bit before getting upright. "We gotta find 'em, then. And figure out where the hell we are." *looks around* "This is messed up." No, he's right, it's pretty homey, if you've got a lot of disposable income. (Visible exits?) * Ashley opens the other wooden door. ( There's another door and a window ) [It opens into a spiral staircase, lit by torches] ... tres cool ambience. I've been wondering when this would come back into style. (Does it go up or down?) * Togo uses the broom as a crutch for a moment, then scowls and tosses it aside before looking out. * Lukas side-glances at Ashley ¬_¬ style. (Alt-170 went out AGES ago. æ_æ is in now.)( ( Both! ) * Ashley walks out onto the staircase and looks up. "Well, we've a decision. Which way?" * Lukas gestures at the window. "Well, we're above ground, so I'm thinking down." * Ashley winks. "No scenic overlook to add to our romantic interlude, ey?" Down sounds good. * Lukas rolls his eyes. "Romantic interlude. It wasn't any more romantic than getting drunk and passing out. Slightly less dangerous, though." * Ashley starts down. "It could have been so much more, though. A shame." [You start down the staircase! it spirals downward, passing a few more rooms as it goes. The doors are open, and the insides seem similar to the one you were in.] ( Gimme hearing checks! ) * Lukas mutters low, "Well, only if Togo likes to watch." Beat. "Listen." ... what the hell were you guys doing out here? *pauses* Granted, this from the guy who was in the closet... 2d8-6 ( Oops ) ( Lemme invite ) * Dicesuke (akodomakot@ip68-13-166-245.om.om.cox.net) has joined #MoreMC 2d8-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8-6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 1. 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ashley (2d8) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. ( Made by 6 ) (If it's mind, made by 1.) 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lukas (2d8-2) and gets a natural 14 for a result of 12. (Uh, no.) [Two of you hear it. Something that sounds like a lot of chittering, below you, but coming up the stairs.] What the he- sounds like insects. Loud insects. Coming up. Oh boy. Insects may not be certain, Togo. * Togo draws his SMG, and backs up a bit. "I know. Just what it sounded like." * Ashley waves his hands. 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ashley (2d8-4) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 7. And I gotta warn you guys... whatever Rachel did to me, it did a helluva number on me. I'm not in good fighting shape here. Yeah, that makes two of us. * Ashley fades out of sight. Everyone does, actually. Best to take this cautiously. We won't be able to talk after this - I will mute our sounds. You can mask scent too, right? It's as if we aren't here. [And up they coom! They being not actually bugs, but tall, lanky grey-skinned beings. They've got three fingers and toes on each limb, webbed in between, and carry spears. Their heads are cone-shaped, eyes are solid black, and they have two mouths, filled with tendrils rather than teeth. They speak to each other with that chittering sound.] I'll signal when I've dropped the silence. It begins ... now. (Flip those, please.) [They enter into one of the rooms, closing the door behind them.] (Windying again.) (Dammit, I always forget.) * Lukas says nothing! Stupid silence. * Togo peeks down the stairs, to see if anything else is coming. 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ashley (2d8-4) and gets a natural 14 for a result of 10. (..... oooh. Bad dicey.) * Ashley is invisible and silent, but a green arrow appears, pointing down! * Togo tilts his head, but shrugs and heads down. * Ashley also is going down! * Lukas goes down, sure! With Ashley. But not like that. [And down you head. The staircase finally stops, leaving you with a choice of two corridors to go down, at 90 degree angles from each other.] ( Can we see each other? ) * Ashley says "I've dropped the silence for now. I can drop the rest if you like." ( Gimme hearing checks. ) * Lukas invisibly shrugs. "Hey, as long as you keep your hands to yourself..." *softly* Keep it up if you can, for now. 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lukas (2d8-2) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 9. 2d8-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8-6) and gets a natural 3 for a result of -3. (Still nope. Although closer that time.) ( Made by... 10 ) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ashley (2d8) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 7. (Made by 3) [There's a lot of noise coming from down the hall to the right, but you only really notice it when there's a female scream, accompanied by a lot of the chittering.] ..... bollocks. Go. I can keep the illusion up if you can hit them, Togo. * Togo starts jogging down the hall, since running isn't really an option, and nods at Ashley. * Ashley can't see it, but he's going too! (*eyes the other chan* Lukas, we've got to get that thing a better voice synthesizer.) * Togo remembers that he's invisible, and gives a soft 'okay' towards Ashley. (Snicker. It's not the synthesizer.) (If for no other reason than it hurts my eyes to read.) (It's the AI. ^_~) (They make axes for a reason!) * Lukas follows, muttering, "Great." [The chittering is coming from a large set of double doors.] ( The doors are chittering? ) ( Or behind the doors? ) ( Behind. They're opened just a crack, though. ) * Togo peeks through the crack. [Inside are a large number of the... whatever they ares. They're gathered into two columns, except for two. One, at the end of the room, is sitting on a large chair wearing a crown and a robe. The other, in the center, has a rod with a blue stone in the center. Nearby him is one of the Covenant members from the library. She's naked and staring at herself in horror: the lower half of her body, waist down, has been turned into a form ( That get through? ) (cut off at "form") been turned into a formless fleshy mass.] (.... oh lord.) [The one with the rod chitters again, waving it at the woman. She screams again as her left arm befalls a similar fate.] [The whatevers chitter in what's probably amusement.] * Togo steps back, and whispers softly to the other "... I can't tell exactly, but something bad is happening, and I'm tempted to solve the problem with grenades." ( s/other/others ) * Ashley peers in, and pales. "I'm afraid I share your recommendation." [Note: You're quite very outnumbered.] That, or move on our merry little way. I very much doubt we can save her. *whisper* Or, since we're in bad shape, throw smoke grenades, get her out, and worry about fi- that too. [It waves its wand again, and the rest of her body dissolves into a fleshy puddle. But she screams, so apparently she is still alive... somehow.] * Lukas looks in too just at that and mutters, "Jesus..." ... gorgeous she might have been, but we lack a bucket. Shall we vamoose? *whisper* Actually, I have a bucket... but yeah. * Ashley moves on down the hallway, if there is a hallway to move down. * Lukas rubs his arms, through his jacket. He'd look uncomfortable if he were visible. [You head down the hallway! At the end it turns left. There's also a spiral staircase going down. Down the other hallway appears to be a gate outside, guarded by two of the humanoids.] ( Is there a gate opening mechanism around? ) [There is, but the gate appears to be open already. ( More hearing rolls! ) 2d8-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8-6) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 5. ( Made by 2 ) * Ashley whispers. "Try to be sneaky, or try to be curious?" 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lukas (2d8-2) and gets a natural 12 for a result of 10. 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ashley (2d8) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 10. (Dead on.) (Missy.) [There's more screaming outside, and more chittering.] *whisper* Sneaky. Out the gate. * Ashley nods, invisibly. "Alright. Silence is back on again... now." * Ashley starts moving! Not that people can see. * Lukas follows, still uncomfortable-like. [Outside leads to a barren courtyard. There's an outer wall with a gate, and this one IS closed. To your left, however, is something resembling a wrestling rink. ] [The humanoids are gathered around the ring, chittering at the spectacle: One of the humanoids is in the ring at applying its own style of wrestling to another member of covenant. Also naked and with more than a few broken bones.] [Apparently these things are pretty strong, because the humanoid dislocates her shoulder just by yanking on her arm.] * Lukas says something totally silently and grits his teeth. * Togo gets a tighter grip on his SMG, but concentrates on trying to figure out how to open the outer gate. * Ashley whispers. "Do you see a gate lever?" [There is a lever, but there's also two of the creatures standing guard. They do seem mildly distracted by the wrestling spectacle, however.] * Lukas hisses, "We can't just leave her. Don't you have any flashbangs or anything" *whispers* Lots of them. * Lukas replies, "Then why not lay 'em down and cover her in our illusion? She has 'magic tricks'. They'll never fucking know." Oh, for ... it's not that bloody simple. How's she to get out of the ring? *whisper* Smoke'll work better. I can get her out under cover of the smoke, and you guys can hit the gate thing while they're distracted. * Lukas replies, "Fine with me." If you're hell-bent on it, then best get to it. I'll keep you invisible, Togo, but not silent. If you get close to her, she'll be covered automagically. *softly* Gotcha. *puts away SMG; pulls out a few smoke grenades* * Togo pulls the pins on the smoke grenades, and tosses them towards, in, and around the ring. [The grenades explode. There's a lot of chittering resounding. The two guards by the gate go over to investigate. ] * Ashley moves over towards the lever! (But because I'm british it's LEEVER.) [The lever looks... kinda heavy.] * Ashley whispers. "Put your weight into it, Volt." He starts shoving, which might be obvious. * Togo waits until the smoke spreads a bit, then runs to the ring, slides in, grabs the girl, covers her mouth, and tries to get her outta the ring. ( Gimme a silent movement roll at -2, Togo ) * Lukas goes and presses on the damn switch, grunting back, "Yeah, right." (Er, Volt. Friggin goddamn name thing. Fucking tell people your real name, or nick as Volt.) (Haw haw.) ( And Lukas and Ashley, gimme assisted strength rolls. ) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ashley (2d8) and gets a natural 14 for a result of 14. ( I forgot how we said we were doing that @_@ ) (*SNORT*) (Uh, in Ten/Lukas, it was a free -2 to Lukas.) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lukas (2d8) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 11. (But neither of us is the 'strong' type.) [The lever doesn't budge!] ( K, we'll do it that way. Free -2 to the leader per person who assists. ) ( Meanwhile waiting for Togo ) 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8-5) and gets a natural 12 for a result of 7. ( Made by 2 ) ( Sorry, maternal unit beckoned. ) * Ashley grunts. Quietly, at least. "Bloody... damned ... beasts..." [Togo manages to avoid detection as he clambers into the ring. The girl is lying on the ground whimpering. Her arms are both dislocated, and her legs are broken in two places, each.] * Ashley pants. "Another go, then?" * Togo whispers quietly to the girl as he picks her up, covering her mouth. "Getting you to safety. Please try not to scream." *heads out of the ring and towards the gate* * Lukas nods. "Yeah." He tries to help Ashley push, although he also gives the mechanism a look. [Now the smoke starts to clear, and the humanoids are regaining their composure. Another stealth roll, Togo, -1 bonus] 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ashley (2d8) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 4. (!) (Well, you made that one, then. @_@) (Since I said I was assisting.) 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8-4) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 4. ( Made by 5 ) ( Quick AFG ) ( er, AFK ) ( Back ) [Ashley and Lukas get the gate open as Togo slips past the humanoids again. However, they DO notice the gate opening itself.] * Togo takes his hand off of the girl's mouth long enough to chuck a *real* grenade back into the crowd as he gets close to the gate, figuring that'll serve as a nice distraction. ( Attack roll? ) ( Yeah ) 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8-3) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 6. ( Made by 3 ) [Boom! An explosion injures the creatures, causing more confusion.] * Ashley is so out the gate. * Togo covers up the girl's mouth again, and heads out the gate. * Lukas also decides it'd be a great idea to get outside. [You head out the gate and into the wilds! Actually it's kind of nice: There's a grassey field dotted with trees. Straight ahead leads to mountains. To the left and right are... nothing. Apparently about a mile either way, the land just suddenly drops off.] [Not only that, there's a few floating islands dotting the sky.] (Are there bugthings here?) [Not outside, but several are sushing towards you from *inside*] ( ... huh? ) * Ashley keeps invisibly running! ( sushing = rushing ) ( They're not telling you to be quiet :P ) ( Well, if they were, that'd be awfully considerate of them. ) * Lukas says quietly, "Togo? Are you here?" * Togo keeps going. *softly* "Yeah. Got the girl." We go straight, I am guessing, unless you have better ideas. *softly* Sounds right. *keeps going* * Lukas mutters, "Might be a good idea to not be so obvious. I mean, christ, invisible." Beat. "How is she?" If you've a better idea, Volt, now is better than later. *softly* Both arms dislocated, both legs broken in a coupla places. *to the girl* s'okay, lady. We're gonna get you someplace safeish and try'n treat your injuries. [She whimpers and ultimately passes out. Meanwhile, the humanoids split up and sent search parties in multiple directions. Including yours!] [As you come closer to the mountain range, you see a tunnel!] (You really are out of your fucking mind!) * Lukas huffs breathy-like and goes the whole way. "Whoo. Dead end tunnel. Anyone got an idea how to get OUT of wonderland yet?' How do you know it's a dead end? Just being suitably pessimistic. Remind me never to be spirited away to a foreign land with you. Nor even Vegas. Tunnel's prolly our best bet. If nothing else, we can find someplace to either hide or set up an ambush. * Ashley keeps running! We're all so invisible. * Lukas rolls his eyes. "Look, I didn't wake up underneath a very pretty man and get chased by super-strong horrors to be told I'm not allowed to be pessimistic.' Some people would consider waking up underneath me to be an excellent start to the morning! Why, I've been told I'm better than oatmeal. (Oh god, this is the BEST PART of the CD.) * Brett (vortex@pool-68-238-35-165.scr.east.verizon.net) Quit (Ping timeout) * Lukas smirks. "Then isn't the steadily worsening day cause for pessimism?" * Brett (vortex@pool-68-238-35-165.scr.east.verizon.net) has joined #MoreMC Hey, throwing grenades always brightens my day. ( Here too ) (Got it yet?) (Yes.) * Lukas is walking invisibly too. Into the cave. Dun dun dun? [You head in! It's dark. But the humanoids don't seem to want to follow. Hope that's not a bad sign.] * Ashley lets the illusion drop once the group is safely in. (+ aways) * Lukas exhales noisily and rummages for Togo's flashlight that he handed off last session. Togo, do you still have those torches? * Togo hands back a coupla flashlights. "Yeah. Let's try to find a place to rest, 'cause I'm running on fumes right now." (Assuming they didn't disappear, I've got one!) * Lukas pulls out one from LAST session and turns it on. * Ashley takes it and turns it on. (Ashley mislaid his.) * Ashley looks around for a place to sit. [The cavern is grey walled and unimpressive. For now. It goins in a not-too-narrow twisty path in front of you.] Let's push on. Perhaps there's a room ahead/ ? * Lukas looks at the woman for a second and then turns away. "Christ. Yeah, let's rest and we can try to, uh, tend to the broken woman." * Ashley pushes on! * Togo takes a deep breath, and exhales slowly. "Okay, but if we don't find a someplace soon, I'm gonna hafta sit down. And yeah, she could use a hit of my nano-medpak." [The cavern does open up, into a fairly wide room with a domed top. There's a stone gate here, with a blue stone in the center. In front of the gate is a book.] * Ashley moves to the right, making sure the area's clear before sitting down. * Lukas looks around too and says, "You gonna hit her with the... the hell?" * Lukas walks bookward. Books are weird. [It's SOooooooo bookly.] I'd be careful. * Togo flumps down, laying the woman on the ground before pulling out a futon and moving her onto it. (... A _FUTON_?) (Not a cot. A FUTON?) ( He was a single guy living alone for a time. Of course he had a futon. ) ( Plus, he's tired. ) * Lukas smirks. "What's it going to do? Drag me into a non-rational world with super-demon things? Yeah. Right." * Lukas goes over and kneels and looks at the book's title. [The writing of the book is apparently little squiggly lines. But when Lukas looks at it, an image appears on the walls. "Apocalypses, vol. 2] ... pleasant. * Togo pulls out his medpack, places it at her side, and activates it... then realizes she's rather naked, and covers her with a blanket as well. Huh? * Lukas looks up. "Oh." Beat. "Volume 2? But how will we know what's going on?" * Ashley speaks, rather pleasantly. "Perhaps it includes a recap, or a glossary..." Then he gets sarcastic. "Or you could leave the bloody thing alone." Hey, I haven't touched it yet, right? * Lukas rubs his neck, stepping away. "Right." Okay, the medpack'll take a few minutes to get the nanites into her bloodstream. After that, it should start fixing up the worst of her injuries pretty quickly. At which point, I'm gonna use it on myself, if nobody minds, because I feel like I just went ten rounds with a were-bull holding only a cape and a little sissy sword. * Lukas sighs noisily. "Not like we've got anywhere to be. Fuck, I don't know anything about this. Where's Herman?" Looking at volume one? Who know.s Yeah. * Lukas runs his hand back over his hair, then looks over at Togo and the girl. * Togo looks like death warmed over, for the record. He's pale and obviously in quite a bit of pain. ... jesus, what happened to you Togo? Get tangled up with one of those things when we weren't looking? * Ashley looks around the cave. * Togo (je34@cpe-24-168-83-38.si.res.rr.com) Quit (Ping timeout) [The nanites apparently can't fix the girl entirely.] * Togo (je34@cpe-24-168-83-38.si.res.rr.com) has joined #MoreMC * Togo rubs at his chest. "That ball of light Rachel hit me with. Must've been some sorta life-force-sucking spell or the like. Been hurt worse, but it got me good." * Ashley goes over and looks at the book! "You ought to try the medkit next, then." * Lukas shakes his head and heads over to the girl. "She shaping up okay?" A small chuckle. "Okay, maybe a bad way to put it." (Brett said, while you werepoofed, [The nanites apparently can't fix the girl entirely.]) PLanning on it. *checks on the girl* * Ashley moves over to the gate. "Got to get out of here, but how?" Well, you're the magic and... boggart expert. Don't ask the hacker and the gunner, man. Well, she's looking a bit less mangled now, but it beyond what the nanites can do in one dose. Gonna hafta wait a day or so before she can get another dose. * Ashley prods at the blue stone. "Magic and Fae are two different beasts in the same family tree." Sure. * Togo gently removes the medpack from the girl, lays down, places it on his torso, and activates it. [Togo be teh healed! ... But not fully.] (I'm assuming what I was doing had no effect, then>) * Lukas leans over and starts checking the woman's legs for degree-o-brokenness. Pervo! ( Nope ) * Ashley wanders back over to the book and flips it open. "Got to be something." [Only one of her legs is broken now. But still in two places. You could form a square with it. Ew.] (Poor easily bored Ashley.) * Lukas winces to himself and says, "Well... at least she can... ugh. No. I doon't carry around crutches." He exhales with a sigh and sits on the ground. [Ashley begins to read the final battle of MC2! It appears on the walls in movie format.] ("Good lord, what drivel.") I do. Kinda. (I wish I knew anything abut it, so I could properly comment.) Don't suppose you know how to properly splint a broken leg. ( They won. XD ) (I have Medical (Emergency Response) 1! I hope I know how to splint a freaking leg!) (Brett?) ( What? ) (... Do I know how to splint a leg? I hope so? >_>) ( Mind - medical! ) * Ashley looks around at the pictures on the wall, as he can't read the text. "What a horribly gothic text. Dracula? Walls of bones? Poe is rolling in his grave." (... oy.) (-second text + book) 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lukas (2d8-1) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 9. [Ashley eventually gets to the end of the battle. But the book doesn't end there.] (... If Emergency Response is applicable, then make on dot. Otherwise, despite a whole rank of Skill, Lukas missed the 'Basic splint' part of medical training. c.c;) ( I'll allow it. ) * Ashley keeps "reading". * Lukas nods. "Yeah. If you've got some wood and fasteners." * Togo does! * Togo even pulls them out of his trenchcoat, after putting the medpack back in and sitting up. * Lukas pulls up the blanket and checks if he's gotta set the leg. [On the wall appears a Japanese bathhouse. There's two women there. One is a very attractive woman in her early thirties. Japanese in appearance, her eyes are strange: they're silvery. The other is an extremely busty blond woman. A blond woman you recognize. She's Herman's self-proclaimed fiancee.] (... if that's the bathhouse I'm thinking of, then 'uh oh'.) [There's slinkies slinking around the onsen.] About bloody time. you might want to pay attention, fellows. We'be hit the good part.) (-)) (Also, "we've".) * Lukas cares for the leg! Set if he's gotta, splint and fasten. Oy. [Sarah soaks in the bath, commenting to the other woman. "This is nice. I didn't know the Japanese had it so good." Her lips move out of synch with her words, like this vision has been dubbed or something. ] * Togo pays attention. "I recognize that voice... Herman's girl?" * Ashley nods. "Starkers in a steaming pond, to boot." [The other woman doesn't respond, so Sarah says, "Hey. Don't worry. We'll win tomorrow. No matter how bleak it may seem, I just know it."] [At this she says, "Hm? Oh, it's not that. I was just thinking..."] ["More nightmares?"] * Lukas wraps things up and then looks to the walls, before smirking and shaking his head. "I swear, someone's trying to taunt me. 2/3 of the women I meet on this job are missing their clothing." I harbor a secret wish that at some point in time, all this will make some kind of sense. I suspect I will be denied fulfillment. (Ugh, read too much Asanjya catching up on MC2 ending. It's bleeding in.) [She nods. "Even all these years later, I still have them. The viscious experiments... watching my own face as I murdered my clones... And then finding out I was a clone myself."] ... HEL-lo, what's this, then? [Sarah looks sympathetic. "Mariah... You are yourself. So what if you never had real parents? So what if there's another woman who looks like you out there? You're still our Mariah."] * Lukas 's eyes widen. "Clones? Human clones. Great." [The second smiles. "Thanks. I'm okay, really. I just... remember sometimes, you know?"] Herman's going to be upset. Why is it we never have good news? It's never "Oh, we just found the problem, and you just had too many puppies in one place! (+") [Suddenly, the door to the onsen slides open, and another girl rushes in. "CANNONBALL!" She yells as she leaps into the pull, splashing the others.] Because if things were that easy, we wouldn't be earning our meager stipends. ["Agh! Hiyoko!" Sarah yells. But the new arrival sits up and grabs her hands. "Sarah, are you ready to win tomorrow? We're so totally going to beat Asmodeus down!"] (.. Ha.) It never seemed this hard in the old days. The 'old days'? [Sarah glares at her, but she's grinning. "Nothing fazes you, does it?" The scene darkens as the other girl announces "Nope!"] Yes. [It fades in again. It's a battle! Eight people are fighting a 20-foot tall, purple demon. Sarah, Mariah and Hiyoko are among them. The others are...] [A man of average height, whose hair is combed straight back. It's black, but has several white streaks running through it. He wears what's apparently a purple cross between a trenchcoat and a robe, some red slacks, and a monacle over his left eye. He's carrying an elaborate cane with a demon-like head at the tip.] [A rather handsome 14-year old in a white jacket, blue shirt and black pants. He's got goggles on his forehead and appears to be carrying a laptop, but no weapons. His eyes are violet.] ( Aiyah. Lots of desc. @_@ ) ( I'll just simplify the rest. ) [There's a tanned-skin turban-wearing man with a high-powered rifle.] [And a girl who's wearing shintoist robes and carrying a naginata, who with her violet eyes could be related to the other boy. [And finally there's a red-headed Irish girl, whose arms are on fire.] [Well, suffice it to say it's a long exciting battle, but ultimately they win. Woo.] Quite the motley crew. And we aren't? Point well taken. * Lukas smirks. "Yeah, I was just thinkin' the same thing." [The scene fades to a pizza parlor, where the crew is celebrating. Hiyoko cheers, "See? See? I knew we'd win. We just saved the world. Wooo!"] [The redhead speaks, "Heh. How 'bout that? Still, what about that Asahara doctor? Still gotta get him to make sure they stay out of business."] Yeah, that went well. * Togo mutters various curses. [The young boy speaks, "We will, Liadan." He turns to the monacle-man. "Can you find him, Dante?"] ['Dante' nods. "I'll see what I can do."] * Lukas frowns. "Wait, that doesn't make sense..." What? That... scene. How not? [The turban guy meanwhile puts his hand on Sarah's shoulder. "Hey, so how about that date?" She frowns. "Justinius, I told you already: my parents are making my engagement as we speak." He pouts.] ( Oh! Gimme foreign culture checks. ) * Lukas gestures at it. "If that's accurate... look, it has to have been pretty recently..." (Can we roll untrained?) (I only have Cultural Arts.) (YEah.) ( You can roll untrained. Also Soc. Sciences (history) works too ) (I took history under Cultural Arts, oddly enough. Ah well.) 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Lukas (2d8-2) and gets a natural 13 for a result of 11. 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. (I R DUM.) ( Nope. ) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ashley (2d8) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 10. (Make, whether CA(history) applies or not.) Now, wait. That one - the turban. He was involved in that Byzantine empire mess. That was four years ago, ahd he's older here than he was then. (Ugh, afk a bit for a snack. I'll be back asap.) ... not sure what the Byzantine thing is... but that means this thing we're watching is happening in the future? [Justinius moves over to Mariah and Liadan, putting a hand on both their shoulders. "How about it, girls? Hmm? Hmm?" He grins hopefully, then frowns as they both say, "Not interested," in unison] [He then glances at the Shintoist, but one glare from the 14-year old and he quickly looks the other way.] ["I'll do it!" Shouts Hiyoko. Justinius frowns, and she gets mad. "What, I'm not good enough for you?"] * Lukas snickers. [Justinius rubs his head. "Well... no... It's just..."] ["What?"] ["I..."] ["What?!"] ["I don't like girls who are so perky."] * Togo (je34@cpe-24-168-83-38.si.res.rr.com) Quit (Read error: Connection reset by peer) ( Neither does Togo >.> ) (back.) [Hiyoko puffs. "Yeah? Well I don't like guys who wear diapers on their heads either, so there!"] That or between then and now. [The table erupts in laughter as Justinius grabs his turban. "Hey! I told you it's not a diaper! you little..." The scene fades out.] [Then a message appears on the wall. "Continue?"] * Togo (je34@cpe-24-168-83-38.si.res.rr.com) has joined #MoreMC ( Last I saw was the "What?!"s ) ... okay, so where's the keyboard to hit the any key? Yes? Are we required to put a pound coin in it? [The book suddenly slams shut on its own, and the door opens!] .... or that. * Ashley looks to Togo. "Can we get her through?" * Togo wraps the blanket around the girl, puts away the futon, and picks her up. "Yeah. I'm feeling a little better, so I can carry her no problem." Nova. * Ashley nods, and leads the way, using the torch. "What's that, Volt?' Uh? Slang. * Lukas walks. Ooh, a new one. 'Nova'. I like the sound. * Togo carries the girl, trying not to jostle her too much. Since she's still got a broken leg. ( How're her shoulders, by the way? ) [Still dislocated.] ( Figured. ) * Ashley walkwalks. * Lukas walks too. "A 'new one'?" Should I feel bad we didn't rescue the other girl? Wouldn't wish what happened to her on anyone... but I was prolly gonna end up killing her in that fight. New slang. For me, at least. I don't get around your circles. (So. Z.) ( Almost done ) [Shortly, the tunnel ends, leading to a valley. [The area is a combination of grassey meadows and forests, with a large lake in the center. It's enclosed entirely by mountain sides. There's a tower in the middle of the lake. And also there's stone pillars all over the valley, much like Stonehenge, but on a larger scale.] (You wanna take RFM, Mecha? I'm gonna sign out.) ( C&P fun! ) * Ashley shuts off the flashlight. "Well. Finally." * Lukas glances to Togo and says snappishly, "Well, if you were gonna kill her, heey, why bother?" He sighs and mutters, "God. I hate magic." (Mecha: ?) (Sorry. Uh. Sure.) If you're implying that my morals are all fucked up, Volt, you're right. * Lukas smirks. "I didn't think I needed to imply it, but hey, since we agree." He gives Togo a thumbs up. * Ashley looks around. "Where do we head, I wonder?" * Lukas looks away from snarking at Togo. "Well, if you want to be real obvious, the tower." [Also End!]
