[Ashley finds himself sitting crosslegged in a pentagram made of tape on a hotel room floor. There's candles surrounding him, and he feels like he came out of some sort of trance.] * Ashley blinks. "... oh hell." * Ashley looks around the hotel room, then down at the pentagram. [It's made of tape, but Ashley knows that as long as the spell is done properly it should work anyhow.] * Ashley carefully peers around the room. Best not be demons or whatnot, if he's going to leave the circle. [There don't seem to be any demons, thankfully.] * Ashley sighs, and stands up. He looks out the window, assuming there is one. [There is, but you can barely see it in the candle light; the curtain is pulled across it entirely.] * Ashley draws back the curtain, after first checking to make sure he's not starkers. [Ashley is not; he's fully clothed. He even has (he just notices) a monacle.] (YAY my hunch was right. Not that you didn't telegraph it hardcore.) (MONACLES RULE.) ( :P ) * Ashley draws back the curtain, then! Might as well not do this by candlelight. [The curtain is pushed back. It's evening outside, and he appears to be in a room on the top floor of the hotel.] ... swank. I appear to be living it up, this time - I don't even remember how I got here. Must have remembered to make the right currency this time, wherever I am. Time to check my face. * Ashley checks around for a mirror. [Ashley finds one in the bathroom. Staring back at him is a man in his mid-twenties, with black hair combed back, though there's several stripes running through it. In fact, he's seen the face before, in the book in the book.] ... good lord, took some chances there. * Ashley feels around pants for a wallet. [Ashley finds one.] * Ashley flips through it for cash. [There's money in there!] Hm. A couple hundred more, just for good measure. * Ashley wiggles his fingers at the wallet and tries to conjure more. [Doesn't work.] * Ashley ... blinks. Buck up, chap, you're just under the weather. We'll give it another go, just to make sure, then we'll get on out of here and have a soak at home. * Ashley tries again. [Doesn't work!] ... okay. Breathe, Ashley, breathe. * Ashley looks at the mirror, and tries to change back into looking like Ashley. [It doesn't work!] ... oh _bollocks_. * Ashley pokes and prods at his face. "Uncool. Tres uncool. Bollocks!" * Ashley grips the sink and stares himself in the eye. "This has got to be a bad dream." [Doesn't seem like it.] * Ashley closes his eyes. "Think, you addlebrained wood sprite. If you used his face, you couldn't possibly have used his name, right?" He pulls out the wallet and checks for ID. [There's an ID card with his picture, reading: "Dante Mikigawa". Also, there's a cop-like badge in there, reading Interpol: Special Investigations Unit.] (Oh my god, she found a relative.) (A relative who is willingly working with Uedas.) [Note, Dante doesn't look Japanese at all.] (Or she adopted.) * Ashley blinks. ... you can't possibly have been stupid enough to use this guy's name, his face, and then pretend he's an Interpol officer, could you? How drunk was I? I don't feel hungover. Bloody hell!@ Think it through, Ashley. What would you not leave behind? * Ashley snaps his fingers. "My cd player!" He starts digging about the room for it. [What CD player? There's a laptop, though. And a funky looking cane with a demon-head pommel. And other various stuff Ashley could only guess to the use of.] You've clearly gone balmy, my boy. Right off the deep end, and round the bend to Lancastshire. Mad as Elmwalker, you are. * Ashley sits down in a chair, and taps the cane on the floor idly. "Hm." [Ashley notices his smoke detector is disabled.] [Probably a good thing, with those candles going.] Right. I need a plan. I need to get out of here, and get home. Past that, maybe I'll recover. Clearly I've had a bit of a shock, but I can't have been here long or it all would have melted. * Ashley nods smartly. He looks around for a coat or something. Or maybe I can make it to Dorhbran's place. He'd probably know what's up. [Ashley is wearing one.] [There's a knock on his door.] * Ashley nods, grabs the cane, and ... freezes. "Uh.... yes?" * Ashley looks clearly confused. * Ashley creeps up and cracks the door.
