* Lukas angles away moreso, trying to get distance, and says quietly, "Calm down, Ten... just hold on." * Ten , the twenty something year old womon, cries and holds on. * Lukas gets more angley this combat round because he's got quite a few kilos of effectively dead weight and is shot up. He shifts his arms, but can't really use his hands because he's holding a Kirby, barely. "Uhf. Oh, where can we set down..." * Ten is said sobbing deadweight and pain is not her friend. * Lukas continues laying down the disitance. Is there anywhere good to land and how far is it to the river? ^^; [Not really and you can't tell, since the trees in the forest are that thick] * Lukas mutters, "God, who thought flying would actually be difficult..." * Ten continues to cry and hold onto Lukas. She doesn't seem to have heard a word he said. * Lukas CONTINUES flying. Still can't see anything from the air, huh? (So I can land somewhere on the other side of the river. That's a good start.) * Lukas makes sure he's past the river, going all the way to the plains if that's what it takes to be sure, before lowering the two of them to the ground. * Ten continues to hold onto Lukas's much smaller body and cry even though she's sitting on the ground now. * Lukas lets the Kirby fall to the ground and pats Ten awkwardly, leaning against her slightly. "Hey, Ten... calm down, okay? I know it's new and..." he trails off and mutters under his breath. [Kirby needs attention too.] * Ten cries. "Fixme! Youhaveta! IT HURTS!" * Lukas chuckles and replies, "Yeah, pointy things do that. C'mon... lay down on your front n'lemme look at it." He takes a step back and winces as he puts his weight on the punctured leg. * Ten attempts to keep hold of Lukas and keep sitting, mostly resulting in her sprawling forward. "Ah~hh! Ithurtsithurtsithurts!" (It's in the back of her shoulder. ^^;) (I know. She on the other hand has no idea how to deal with this.) (Well, yeawh.) * Lukas puts a hand to the one in his arm and then says, "Breath evenly, Ten... might help. Now I wish I'd took that knife." * Ten struggles up onto one of her hands, the arm with the arrow in it's shoulder hanging. "NO! Nocutting! Just make it huuuurting!" No, Ten, I wasn't gonna cut... Christ, calm down! Breathe! Think of something that doesn't hurt, like boxes. (... Should I add the personality defects to the sheet? I forgot to ask about them last week.) ( Couldn't hurt. ) * Ten looks at Lukas with tearfilled green eyes. "Where? Maybe there's something in them that'll makeitstop." * Lukas thuds his backpack down with another wince and exhales noisily. "Well, let's see what's in here, huh? Right?" God knows we're not going anywhere like this. * Ten lowers herself back down onto the ground. "It's a great big patch like Togo used to have right? It'll fix everything and make it all go 'way." [Suddenly it's dark! Like from day to night, with no in between.] * Ten sniffles and whines. "And now my eyes are all broke! Being alive SUCKS AND HURTS AND MAKE IT STOP!" I hope what the fuck? Where'd the lights go? * Lukas crouches down to feel for Ten. "Ten? It's not just you." * Ten goes back to crying. "I still hurt!" * Lukas sighs, "Hey, I'm not magic, huh? I'm trying, but now I can't fucking see..." he rummages in his backpack with his other hand. "Christ. At least they didn't hit anything vital..." * Lukas gets his flashlight and puts it on the ground, turning it on so Ten can see it. "See? Eyes aren't broken. Just too damn dark." * Ten smiles slightly and then it fades. "You've been alive, you know how to fix this right? You're going to fix this right? Make it stop hurting?" * Lukas laughs. "Yeah, I've been alive, Ten. The only way to make it better is gonna hurt again, though." * Lukas says in a quieter voice, "I'm not... sure you wanna do that now, you know?" * Ten 's crying softens and a moment later she bursts out with. "No! I want it to stop hurting without hurting more! How come you can't do that? Being alive sucks." * Lukas laughs weakly and says, rubbing her shoulder softly, "Well, now you know why all those Goth kids go for the very unstylish black, as you put it. Life hurts a lot, sometimes, Ten." ... You've got to make this stop before I have to write bad poetry and think wearing matte black every day's a good idea! (And I hope it's the one without the arrow in it.) (It's above the arrow-wound. ^_^;) (Not, like, jostling the arrow.) * Lukas sighs. "Sorry, Ten. Only way out is by removing the arrow and that's gonna hurt a little. After that, though, you can try to sleep. Sleep won't hurt. Okay?" [The others emerge from the forest. Main chan!]
