[Khalil punches the guy, who never saw it coming. He goes down. Of course, now Khalil's in a bit of a predicament. He can hear the fighting outside, and more guards are undoubtly coming.] * Khalil sighs. "Great. Now what?" He looks around the room/corridor whatever for a place to hide. Small enough for a bunch of scarabs is good enough. [There's very little in here that could fit 290 scarabs.] (284) [Oh, well in that case.... Nope, not for 284 either.] * Khalil mutters. "This would be far simpler if this body were easier to adapt to." He tries to concentrate and create a mirage of himself this time. Just in case it'll actually work this time. [Holy crap, it does!] * Khalil blinks as it works and a small smile creeps over his lips. He sends it off down the corridor in one direction running as he heads down the other way. * Khalil notes that he's moving far quieter than he's making his double go. [Khalil hears a shout behind him and a rush of foot steps.] * Khalil keeps looking for somewhere he can duck into. [Khalil spots a door!] * Khalil peeks in the keyhole if there is one, to make sure he's not barging in on a worse situation. [Inside is an extravagant bedroom which *appears* empty at the moment.] * Khalil sighs. Good enough. He slips in the door and closes it behind him, back to it. [Khalil slips into the bedroom! He confirms that there's nobody in there. The bed is unmade, however, and the wardrobe door is open, revealing clothes. Human clothes, maybe?] * Khalil looks at the clothes. Anything he can disguise himself with? ( Mind roll (memory) ) (...awesome roll and his stat utterly sucks. ;_;) [Khalil seriously doubts the clothes could fit him. They're for a much smaller size than he is, and would rip if he put them on.] Odd... * Khalil looks around the room for something else, keeping a casual eye (and ear) on the door in case noises come from it or it opens. [Khalil hears people rush by outside, but nobody seems to check the room.] * Khalil keeps inspecting the room for anything of interest, mostly to occupy his time while the rushing goes on outside. [The bedroom, by the way, consists of a Queen-sized bed (of course), a wardrobe, a desk with a mirror, and attached bathroom (complete with a shower), and a nice carpet. It's also rather light colored.] I wonder who's bedroom this is? * Khalil then stops and notes the desk. He starts to search it. Because it's searchable. [Khalil finds a compact and some nail polish.] * Khalil sighs. "Of course I would find a female's room." * Khalil slowly closes the desk and goes back to the door. Are they finished? [The commotion isn't clear yet. And gimme a hearing check.] (Si, senor) [Khalil hears talking! Getting louder.] [Though he can't make it out yet.] * Khalil creeps near the door and tries to eavesdrop. ( Mind (memory)! ) [Khalil listens! Two people are speaking, a man and a woman. "I don't care WHO was out there. Moloch has no right to treat his guests this way," says the man. "We should crush this pitiful wretch."] ["He is not so insignificant. But besides, what harm could it do? We've got what we came for."] ["Mmm.. yes. I just hope your human friends keep to their plans."] ["They aren't humans."] ["Mortals, then."] ["They aren't mortals."] ["Well, whatever! THOSE people."] ["They aren't my friends, for that matter."] ["I'm not going to argue about the specifics. Just keep your ties to them and the old man for now..."] [The voices fade away.] (Who is saying which comments by the way?) ( Ummmm... The man was the first speaker, then just alternate. ) (Okay) * Khalil waits for a little while, then heads out of the door, peeking both ways down the corridor. [There's nobody there! Though there's still some commotion outside the castle. Doesn't sound like fighting, though. More like a really angry Moloch.] * Khalil walks down the opposite way of where he heard the voices fading. [The corridor leads towards the gate. And with it, a returning body of guards and one furious-looking cow demon. Fortunately they're all preoccupied to notice Khalil.] * Khalil turns back into the scarabs and has them skitter pretty much single- file out of the gate, staying along the walls for cover until they're a distance away. ( Mmmm... Stealth (Camoflauge), -4 bonus ) [Khalil sneaks past the unsuspecting guards.] (Stealth check for insects. Rawk.) * Khalil heads his scarab army towards a nearby bush away from the castle, reforms, and sneaks away. * Khalil gives the cow demon one last eyeing before heading off though. [Khalil gets away! By the way, it's night outside now. It was afternoon, but now it's night. Go figure.] * Khalil believes that away is an intriguing prospect. He wishes to explore this concept of away further and does so by going further away. [Khalil reaches the forest!] * Khalil looks about the forest. "This would be far easier if we had designated a meeting point. However, I did not expect it to be so frantic." [Khalil finally finds a sign of the others as he comes to the bridge in the forest. It's a very blow'd up bridge. Which leaves him in a predicament.] * Khalil frowns, then looks at the river. Or whatever the bridge spans. [The river is red.] Yes, that is certainly odd. * Khalil looks for the tree surroundings and such. Anything really. [It's also very dark and hard to see, but luckily Khalil has enhanced vision.] * Khalil is awesome like that. [The trees arc over the river; crossing the branches is conceivable, but could be dangerous. The branches don't look particularly strong, especially considering Justinius's weight.] * Khalil looks for a sturdy tree on the other side and kneels down, taking off his turban. How high is he from the river? [Not that high. The bank is only like half a foot above the water.] * Khalil takes a small rock on his side of the river and tosses it in. Just in case red water doesn't react like normal water. [The rock hisses as it enters, and pieces break up, though it seems to be fairly slow, at least.] * Khalil winces and starts unravelling the turban. As he unravels it, he takes out the bayonet and lashes the loose end of the turban around it. [Khalil gets Turbanedknife!] * Khalil then goes towards one of the trees and climbs it to the highest, sturdy part of the branch. ( Climbing roll! ) [Khalil climbs to the highest, sturdiest part of the branch.... well, it looked sturdy. It snaps and he plummets to the ground, landing hard on the river bank.] * Khalil curses and picks himself up, trying again. To a different branch obviously. (And you can bet that curse is in Arabic.) [Allah would so totally smite you right now.] * Khalil thinks Allah's not being to friendly to HIM right now, thank you very much. ( Another climbing roll! ) [Khalil climbs the tree, and this time the branch holds his weight.] * Khalil nods and tests it a bit before starting to twirl the turban-knife like a grapple, tossing it over to a sturdy tree on the opposite bank. ( Thrown objects! ) (Make!) [The knife wraps around a branch on the tree.] * Khalil ties the turban on the end he's on, takes a deep breath and...is scarabified again. The scarabs start walking across the tightrope turban. [Khalil makes it across without difficulty.] * Khalil reforms on the other end and takes up the bayonet. He tries to jostle the other end of the turban to loosen it if he can and gather the cloth. [He does, because the turban's too awesome to leave behind.] * Khalil slings the turban-rope over his shoulder and climbs down the tree!
