bunch of Hotarus, and Keiko killed Doctor Doctor Schuhmacher.  Now you're in a
corridor.  'Tis the place to be.  It only goes for about twenty feet before
there's a fork.  Fun.]

* Roseli nods to Togo, and she happens to have her gun on hand.

* Heinrick doesn't happen to have his gun in hand. Because he doesn't have a
gun. But he does draw a dagger from his coat. "Well, we've never been ones to
refuse such a charming invitation."
* Jamie starts off on her way down the left path, without checking the gun Togo
gave here ages ago.
<Brett> [There's a deep, boming howl down the left path.
"TOOOOOOOOOGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"]

<Roseli> There's your call.
* Keiko still is shuddering as she floats along, then she suddenly shakes her
head side to side. "Distractions. Too many distractions."
* Luana starts following, then stops and squints down in the direction of the
howl. "That's... sort of creepy."
<Luana> ~Can I do anything to help?~
* Togo grins viciously, pulls out his assault rifle, and keeps moving forward.
<Brett> ["EEEEAAAAT YOURRRRR SALAAAAAAAAAAAD!"]
<Brett> [Before long, the gunfire ceases.]
* Luana hurries after Togo, shaking her head. "And it just graduated to actually
creepy."
* Togo loses a bit of his determined stride. "... haven't had that howled at me
in at least twelve years."
* Keiko thinks back at Luana, as she bites her lip, ~This is just a distraction.
There are needed deaths before the sattelite is launched.~
* Jamie doesn't try to figure what the confusing yelling is about, it's just
another something making annoying noises and will get shot.
<Togo> If we turn a corner and see a head of lettuce the size of a house, Luana,
use fire. Lots of fire.
* Luana says loftily, but with a smile, "You're not the boss of me."
<Luana> ~Should we be... doing something else?~
* Togo gets his grin back. "That's my girl."
<Brett> [You come to another fork! You can head east or west.  Either way goes
on for about twenty feet, then heads north.]
* Keiko shakes her head. ~Find Cyra. Find Eileen. Find the launch platform.~
<Luana> ~Easier thought than done.~
* Roseli picks one at random and keeps running.
<Roseli> (Actually, nix that.)
<Roseli> (My brain farted.)
* Keiko stops biting her lip to breathe out, "I should just go scouting again."
<Roseli> (Never mind!)
* Roseli goes back to picking one at random and running.

* Heinrick frowns slightly. "These corridors...they're ending up buying too much
time."

* Jamie either keeps going, or turns around to follow Rose.
<Brett> [Rose reaches the edge of a corridor, she nearly runs into someone.]
* Keiko keeps floating along with the group, replying with annoyance, "I'm not
sensing a map."
<Heinrick> Can you sense who we are *seeking* though.
<Brett> [He's wearing a Section 1 uniform, though it looks pretty well torn to
shreds.  It's very bloody on the left side, where he's clenching one hand.  His
right is barely holding onto an assault rifle. "H... Hey... It's you guys."]
<Brett> ( gimme mind rolls! )

<Brett> [He very nearly does.  At the least, his gun falls to the ground.
"M-monster. God... My whole team g-gone..."]
* Keiko then looks to Rose and says, "It's shielded."
* Togo looks to Rose and Heinrick. "I've got one charge left in my medpak."
<Brett> [He coughs up blood on Rose. "D-Damn.... some hero I turned out to be,
huh?"]
<Roseli> Heal him.  Could use him to protect the hostages.
* Roseli keeps holding up the guy.
* Togo nods, pulls out his medpak, and holds it against the guy's neck as he
pushes the button.

convene with some people."
* Heinrick sighs and shakes his head. "Hero..."

<Brett> [He coughs. The nanites heal him up, but he's still bleeding. "You
shouldn't have done that.   You should have saved it for yourselves! I was
dying!"]

<Brett> [Meanwhile, there's another howl from up ahead.

<Keiko> That's why they did it.
* Roseli snaps, now clearly annoyed, "Shut up and do your job, soldier. Go!" She
points towards the hostages.
<Roseli> And DON'T engage the girls killing each other on the way!

* Heinrick frowns slightly. "Keiko. You might at least scout the howl to find
out if it is on the right path. If you would."
* Jamie starts and jumps backwords away from Rose.
<Jamie> I'm sorry!
<Heinrick> Other than that, we have no certain direction.
<Roseli> Not you.  Him.  What is it, Jamie?  Hurry.
<Brett> [He frowns, then nods. "Alright.... Be careful.  That.... thing...
killed everyone.   My entire squad, six of us, plus Commander Kranz... gone."]
<Togo> I could yell back.
<Heinrick> ...I fail to see how that would be productive.
* Jamie stammers. "There there's a c-camera ahead, but all I see is an old man
in a in a lab coat."
* Roseli nods.
<Roseli> That the monster?
<Brett> ["RUUUUUUUUUNNNNN THEEEEEEE WASHINNNNNNNNG MACHIIIIIIIIIIINE!"]
* Jamie shakes her head.
<Brett> [He gulps. "Yeah."]
<Jamie> ( also switch I for it)
* Keiko says, "Fine," to Heinrick, thinks at Lu, ~Hold me,~ and she tosses
herself in the air towards her, going limp in the process as her astral form
speeds that way!
<Heinrick> Besides, you would feel that with the rather...colorful language, you
would recognize it."
* Luana practically shrieks, "WARN ME!" as she rushed forward to catch Keiko.
<Brett> [The agent staggers off, still bleeding.  But not as much.]
<Roseli> Keiko scouting?
* Heinrick nods. "Towards the only lead we have. So we don't get distracted if
it's off-track."
* Keiko doesn't respond to Luana! She's a little not there.
* Roseli frowns. "Want to get moving."
<Togo> ... okay, it's been at least two decades since someone howled *that* at
me.
<Heinrick> We can still move if we like. It's only that we can be prepared to go
around if our target is not in that direction.
* Togo nods. "Let's move before it starts asking if I'm washed my sockets."

* Luana gets a good grip on Keiko before standing and following. "Well, have you
washed them?"
<Togo> I've just had a lot of things howled like that at me in my life.
* Togo looks back at Luana. "Twice a day. Who wants dirty sockets?"
<Luana> Well, then you have nothing to fear on that front.
* Keiko wakes up in Luana's arms and murmurs, "Demon. Only word for it. Flies."
<Heinrick> Well then. And I'm presuming it's in the path to our goal.
<Togo> Color? Horns? Tail? Anything else notable?
* Luana puts Keiko back down.
* Keiko pushes off of Luana into the air, thinking, ~Thanks,~ before replying,
"Green. Four arms. Greasy. Small head. Flies. Eats flesh."
<Keiko> Two people tall.
<Roseli> (Can I occult to know about this thing and any strengths/weaknesses it
may have, Brett?)
* Heinrick sighs. "Delays..."
<Brett> ( Go for it )
* Keiko then looks at Heinrick and adds, with a frown, "I don't know where the
goal is. I don't. Didn't scout it. Not what I was supposed to do." She runs her
bloody hand back through her hair. "Okay? Okay."

* Roseli glances at Togo, then lets out a faint 'hrng
<Togo> Not with anything we've got on us, no.

<Heinrick> I didn't say kill. I said incapacitate. We need to get past it. The
actual demon is irrelevant.
* Keiko mutters, "Maybe Togo could just do his damn homework."
* Roseli mutters some vial things in Portuguese as she keeps moving forward,
because chances are whatever it is actually IS after Beelz.
<Roseli> (s/vial/vile)
<Togo> Beezlebub is a big damn demon. Unless you've got the One True Cross or
something of that level handy...
* Keiko grabs her hair, like she's clutching at her head. "Jamie. Jamie, you
have to focus. Find another thing to think about. What do you need."
<Luana> Was this thing your mother in a different life or something?
* Roseli thinks, then says, "Doesn't sound like him."
<Jamie> I.. I need to find the way to stop the missile, but I... I can't hear a
way, I can't see a way... I don't know what to do.
<Roseli> Description doesn't work.  Should be a fly.
<Heinrick> I've got glue.
<Togo> Nope. Last I saw him, I was blasting him out of someone with a weapon I
really wish I still had.
<Roseli> Might be injured, then.
* Roseli glances at Jamie, then puts her hand on her arm. "Just keep trying,"
she advises. "We'll find a way."
<Keiko> ls
<Heinrick> Meanwhile, we keep moving.
<Keiko> (Ack. Kill that.)
* Jamie listens to the counting again, hoping to find something helpful.
* Roseli nods and does, in fact, keep moving.
* Luana sighs and ruffles her own hair as she moves.

Disturbingly, there's no more forks in the path.]

<Brett> [Well, eventually you get to a large room, where all the boss fights
happen.  A catwalk surrounds the upper half of the room, and there's a door
directly opposite of where you enter, but you're probably more interested in the
monster.]
* Roseli asks, "Where?" She takes a look at the room.
<Togo> ( Actually, I've got a bit of a thing for catwalks. )
<Brett> [It's a big twelve foot tall monster that barely fits in the corridor. 
It's got green skin and four arms, and huge muscles, but it's head seems awfully
small, with greasy hair.  It's busily devouring the misshaped body parts that
are likely the remains of the Section 1 team, with flies buzzing around while it
eats.  Of course, once you enter, it stands and howls

fly towards it in a close bunch!

* Keiko lets out a short gurk as she catches the bullet, falling back in the air
a moment as her eyes move to her. "Cyra!" she yells out.
* Roseli keeps her focus and fires at Beelz's eye again. Maybe this time he
won't eat her bullet.

* Keiko looks down at Heinrick, sighs, then grabs Heinrick and Jamie to pull
them up top.
* Jamie starts when Keiko grabs her.

* Jamie looks at Keiko. "Wha... what do you want me to do?" (Holding)

* Heinrick adjusts his coat as he gets up talk. "Thank you." He walks over to
the grated door and begins working his acidic magic on it.

* Keiko points at the door. "Open it."
<Brett> [The door is basically a big metal slab.  This will take some time.]
<Brett> [Rose!]
* Jamie tries bypass the destroyed console and get at the moters driving the
door directly.
* Roseli aims to shoot out Valmont's other eye. Poetic justice is the best sort
of justice.

* Jamie looks at the door, and then the ground, and then simply steps off the
side of the catwalk, landing on the ground in a heap. When she picks herself up,
she's actually looking _better_ than when she fell. She heads through the ground
floor door to look for a way to open the upper one.
<Roseli> (I've been ready to topple since before this session!  Good thing the
fire doesn't hurt me.)
<Brett> ( I'm about ready to topple, too. )
<Brett> [Heinrick]
* Heinrick doesn't seem phased by the shot above his head and continues to work
on the door. "Keiko. Can you find out if she's heading in the proper direction
or trying to distract us?"
* Keiko replies, at him, "I don't even know what the proper direction is!"
<Brett> [Whilst the door melts..... Rose!]
* Heinrick sighs. "She is either attempting to complete the launch, or she has
already done so and is now trying to escape or distract us. Following her would
likely find out *which* of these is true."
* Keiko replies, "I can't sense her anymore, Heinrick. And Kranz is still
alive."
* Roseli just fires at Valmont's head, now that the eyes have been taken out.

<Brett> [Luana's bullet returns, hitting Valmont in the back of the spine.  He
falls forward with a crashing THUD.]
<Togo> ... and stay dead this time. Fucker.
<Jamie> (Nuke him from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.)
* Luana holsters her current pistol and pulls out the one with normal bullets,
then goes up to Valmont's head and unloads a full clip into it.
* Heinrick concentrates more fully on the door, trying to finish finally what he
started.
* Luana then discards the empty clip and pushes in a full one before holstering
that gun as well.
* Keiko wraps her arms around herself, pressing in on her stomach slightly where
she got shot. She bites her lip hard, too, as she stands there, looking down.
* Togo puts away his Winchester, then walks over to Luana and puts his good arm
around her. "I've taught you well. Now help me get my shoulder back in the
socket, please?"
* Keiko then floats over the edge down to the ground, saying more loudly, "Wake
up, Kranz. Do you know anything helpful?"
<Jamie> Which. Which way is the command center?
<Brett> [Kranz is actually up ahead, through the door Jamie opened.  He's
slumped against a wall, bleeding heavily.
<Brett> ]
<Luana> Sure. Hold still.
* Keiko thinks at Kranz, ~If you can't talk, help me out here.~ She bites her
lip harder, shuddering as she stands on the ground.
* Togo nods.
<Brett> [Kranz opens his eyes, glancing down at Valmont.  "D... Damn it.  Beaten
by Section 2... again..."]
<Jamie> Which way?
* Luana takes hold of Togo's arm carefully, bends his forearm up and over, then
pulls the upper arm back into place.
<Brett> [He winces. "Sattelite.... They moved it...."  He barely manages to nod
his head down the corridor he's in.  "Next Quadrant.  Behind shielding."]
* Togo grimaces, and his knees buckle for a moment, but he manages to stay
upright. "... okay, felt that."
* Jamie starts going that way.
<Luana> You should take a painkiller.
* Heinrick sighs. "It is not a competition if everyone loses if we fail."
* Keiko looks back at him, then says flatly, "Don't feel bad. Zunkuft sacrificed
everything we had for us. You only got to sacrifice everything you could."
* Roseli is behind. She looks up and around, for a way to get to wherever people
are going.
<Brett> [He looks at Heinrick, then at Keiko. "You hate me.  I understand... But
all I wanted was to prove that... that my men were still capable.  That we're
not," He coughs, spitting up blood, "obsolete.  Normal people shouldn't have to
live in fear of people with powers."]
<Heinrick> People with powers shouldn't have to live in fear of normal people
either.
* Togo looks down at Luana with a grin. "I'm a fifty-two year old monster
hunter. I exist on painkillers."
<Brett> [He chuckles. "Heh.  If anyone bothers you... just rewire their brains." 
Then he breaks into a fit of coughing. "D-Dammit.  All my men are dead... I
couldn't save them."]
<Jamie> (Hey, there was one survivor!)
<Roseli> (Are you guys on the upper level?)
<Jamie> (Well, unless he got eaten by a security drone or the hostages.)
<Jamie> (Lower level. This is the door that Jamie opened the first time.)
* Keiko replies, "The Nunchuck Kid lives."
* Togo walks over to Kranz. "They won't have died in vain."
* Roseli walks over to the others, looking down at Kranz. She wastes no time,
cutting clothing into strips and trying to bandage the worst of the bleeding.
<Brett> [He blinks.  Then laughs. "Of all the dumb luck!  Heh... Kid'll go far." 
He coughs again. "G-go.  You don't have time to waste waiting for me to die."]
* Keiko rubs her head, then turns down the hallway, still holding her bullet
wound. "Try not to die. You can't prove you're better otherwise."

* Roseli frowns as she works, and her hands start to shake. "I'm sorry," she
says, before trying to get to her feet and then falling. "Jamie?"

* Roseli accepts Jamie's help, should she offer it, and stands with some
trouble. "Take care, Kranz," she tells him before they get a move on.
<Brett> [As you start to leave, there's a loud THOOM!  And you see Valmont
staggering through the doorway after you.
"TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"]
* Jamie so helped Rose up once she realized that Rose was having trouble, and,
given Rose's current state, supporting her as they walk.
<Keiko> (Is he actually... capable of following?)
<Brett> ( Apparently so. In fact, he looks a great deal better all of a sudden.

<Luana> I wasted an entire goddamn clip on you! Dammit!
* Togo pivots, coat sweeping as he pulls his Winchester back out, and fires
another round at him. "MY SOCKETS GLISTEN LIKE DIAMONDS, DAMMIT!"

* Heinrick growls and hurries on ahead.

* Roseli winces, then says, "Just go." She hits a series of buttons on her
bracelet, looks much more energetic, and runs. "Jamie, shut the door behind us!"
<Brett> [Kranz coughs.  "Heh... I see how it is." He staggers to his feet.]
* Jamie nods and hurries after Rose.
* Luana starts running, a seriously pissed off expression on her face as she
mutters curses.
<Brett> ["Remember this, Section 2! When you stop the sattelite, remind them you
had help from Section 1! Humanity is capable without powers!"]
* Togo curses as he starts to run.
* Keiko touches down so she can run after the group as well.
<Brett> [Then he turns. "Allright, you sonofabitch.  This is for my men." And he
charges, pulling out two bandoliers of grenades as he goes. "Long live sacred
Germany!"]
<Brett> [The resulting explosion is deafening.  And causes the ceiling to fall
down behind you, so you can't see the end result.  Hopefully that means
Valmont's dead.  Luckily, it seems the outer hull of the dome wasn't breached.]]
<Brett> [Ahead of you is a corridor that's lined with labs.  There's a T-fork at
the end.]
* Keiko winces and shakes her head after the explosion, before murmuring, "One
less person to rewire, I guess."
* Jamie staggers and falls to the ground houlding her head.
* Keiko is actually floating just off her feet, for people who are looking. She
probably wanted to not fall.
* Luana ducks down and hauls up Jamie in a fireman's carry, then keeps running
as best she can.
* Togo keeps running.
<Brett> ( Which way, left or right? )
* Jamie doesn't resist.
* Keiko mutters, "Couldn't have told us where to go before he killed himself."
<Heinrick> Of course not. Since when have we ever been given something *useful*?
* Heinrick shakes his head and heads left. Someone's gotta head somewhere.
<Brett> [Heinrick goes left. And the rest of you?]
* Togo follows Heinrick. Maybe he knows where he's going.
<Brett> [Good enough for me! You follow Heinrick til you get to a closed door.]
* Keiko thinks, to Luana, ~Want to try a running grab this time? I'm scouting
the other way quickly.~
<Jamie> (You're going to make Lu carry both of us?)
* Roseli is nearly passing out again, leaning on a wall.
<Brett> ( Best idea is to save for next time so I can go to bed soon :X )
<Keiko> (Hit the save point woo!)
* Heinrick meanwhile looks for either a control panel that Jamie can take hold
of, or a handle or place he can grip to try and open it.
<Heinrick> (We haven't found the save crystal yet!)
<Brett> [There's a panel.]
<Luana> Togo, grab Keiko, please.
<Luana> ~Sorry, hands are a bit full currently. I appreciate the warning,
though!~
<Luana> Or, Heinrick... god, this is a long day.
<Luana> You could just sit down, Keiko.
* Luana leans her non-Jamie-carrying side against a wall and breathes deeply.
* Jamie isn't paying attention to much that isn't the belltower that's managed
to lodge itself in her skull.
* Togo walks over to Keiko, and offers a hand.
* Heinrick continues the door, and deadpans slightly annoyed. "Considering the
reaction she had the *last* time I tried, I do not think that a good idea...."
<Brett> ( ((open teh door)) )
<Heinrick> Jamie...can you access this door?
* Keiko doesn't take Togo's hand, and since they're at the door, will wait for
them to open it a moment.
* Jamie doesn't respond.
<Roseli> (I think we may need to end soonish here.)
* Heinrick turns back, and sighs, then works on manually working it, since Jamie
seems out of commission.
<Roseli> Jamie?
* Jamie doesn't respond to Rose either.
<Heinrick> (Would that be Mechanics, Brett?)
* Roseli frowns. And droops. "Jamie, you... Keiko, can you...?"
<Brett> ( It should be electronics, but it's late enough that I'll let it go. )
<Heinrick> (I can do electronics too!)

He whirls around, and you see a short Japanese man in his 70s. "Goronov.  It's
been a long time.]
